Their food was absolutely delicious. I shared pancakes and French toast, and they were both fantastic. Their staff was friendly, and the restaurant was a good atmosphere.

Heard about the good things from Food Network, so we came to this cute little diner to try it out! Ambience was great and the diner was old-timey and adorable. We ordered and waited quite a while(about an hour) for our food. Asked the waitress, and she replied, «We have a new chef.» That’s no problem, we are a patient party of four! We kept waiting and we saw a couple get seated, order, and get their food before us. We got our onion rings extremely late, and one of our friends asked, «We’ve been sitting here for a while, can you check on our foo-« And the waitress interjected with, «I already told the rest of your table that there was a new chef and they understood.» She briskly walked away. Well, then. We counted at least FOUR parties of more than four people who were seated AND got their food before we even for our onion rings. Finally, after more than an hour of waiting, we politely stated that we would rather cancel our orders and just pay for the onion rings and leave. The waitress then stated that our food had just been sitting in the kitchen window. Okay. Really? Our friend said he would pay for the onion rings but refused to pay for the rest. Waitress stated he had to pay for all of it. He refused. She then said, «Then, goodbye.» Wow. Well, I mean I guess we didn’t have to pay for the onion rings but the service was dreadful, offensive, and bordering on prejudiced based on the fact that we were the only Asians in the diner. I want to say it wasn’t so, because I know correlation is not causation. But these are just the facts. Won’t be coming back. I never want to experience that again.

Drove into town to see our son, called to ask if there was a wait. The hostess said they«don’t give wait times over the phone since it constantly changes.» Really? I asked if she could narrow it down a little, are we taking a half hour or two hours? «I’m sorry, I’m not outside and I don’t have time to go ask.» Well thanks, sorry to bother you. We won’t be spending our money or our time with you. Ever.

Well I haven’t tried everything so this review is completely based on the Train Wreck Fries. I came around 9 or 10 am ready for a fat stack of pancakes but as soon as I saw those fries… well yeah. If you don’t like blue cheese, stop reading now and move to the next review. These things are loaded with blue, buffalo ranch, chives, and BACON, and they’re friend to perfection. I was skeptical about the size of a basket of fries so I ordered a pancake with it. This was a mistake, the fries will definitely fill you up, especially for breakfast. The pancake was also fluffy, large, and tasty. My friend commented on the french toast being very eggy, and the coffee being strong. The service was great! I noticed that the mimosas were on «special» for $ 7 so I steered clear of that. But overall the meal was excellent and I’ll definitely be going back.

Overall the food was aggressively okay. The service was extremely attentive, but the lack of flavor in the meal was disappointing. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it looked BEAUTIFUL. However, it was very bland, the potatoes were yellow(weird.) and the vegetable medley just wasn’t the best fit. I was let down because I’ve heard such great things about this place, but I would give them another try. PS: Get the Elvis fries!

Went yesterday with my daughter and husband. Their food was barely ok. I ordered the Mexican Green Chili Burger. This is the description: ½ lb hand-pattied, ground-chuck burger between warm tortillas, smothered in our green chili and topped with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and jalapenos. what I received was two flavorless patties between two tortillas topped with a very small amount of grated cheddar cheese. Now the tortillas were soggy. And I really don’t think they were smothered in green green chili. Tasted like salty brown gravy. There was absolutely no hint of anything remotely resembling green chili on that plate. Was not impressed with food or service. We will not be returning. Save yourself the trip.

This is a love hate place, to be honest. Inconsistent service, but it’s acceptable overall. I have tried to like it and stuck it out through some bad visits, but I’m glad I did. They’re nice people and the owner seems to be nice enough. I wish they’d pave the canyon ridden muddy parking lot.

Everything was great except for the blonde girl working the bar. Her rudeness and unfriendly attitude ruined the waiting time for our whole group.

Ah, Hullabaloo diner. I hold this place close to my heart now. I am from Maryland and came to this diner when visiting my cousin at Texas A&M. The reason I decided to come here is because I heard this place had a 12 egg omelette challenge. I have never once done a food challenge before so I said to myself why not give it a shot! Needless to say I failed utterly and was ashamed. Fast forward a few months later I came back prepared and ready to go! I went for dinner my first time and the wait time was about 30 – 45 minutes and my second time going here the wait was about an hour because we came right at the peak of the lunch time rush. Thankfully the provide an outside patio where they play live music, and provide many board games like connect four, scrabble, and uno. The omelette was huge! It came with 12 eggs, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, cheddar american, ham, bacon, sausage, green chili, and sausage gravy, a heaping pile of potatoes, and 2 pieces of Texas toast. It is just as good as you’d expect an omelette to be. Perfect diner food at a greasy spoon! Oh by the way, the second time I got it, I smashed it in 24 minutes and 56 seconds. They timed me in order to try to beat the fastest time which I was told is held by and elderly woman finishing it around 13 minutes. Finishing the omelette netted me a free shirt which I was pretty pleased with. The service was good and my waitress(her name was Kerrie F.) was extremely encouraging and prompt at assisting my party with all our needs. I definitely would come back here.

Food was decent & had flavor. Big portion. We did have a similar experience as other Unilocalers with the seating, but nothing that would make me not return for a good breakfast/brunch. I wouldn’t recommend it for a large group.

We live in the area. There are always a lot of cars there so we tried it out one night. It took a long time for anyone to take our order and then didn’t see anyone again until it was time to pay. No refills or anything. And honestly, the food was only ‘ok’ and priced higher than similar restaurants. I think a lot of people go here because it was on tv. Or maybe management has changed since my visit. I like to see businesses open on this side of town, but I can’t recommend eating here.

There were highs and lows. My husband’s pot roast sandwich was really good. My(huge, hangover inspired) breakfast was off. Even on a non-game-day, non-weekend early afternoon visit we waited for quite some time for menus, then drinks, then ordering, then food, but given the rep as a college town(ish, slightly out of town) diner, that really wasn’t an issue. We were chill, the atmosphere was cute. As I mentioned, my husband’s pot roast sandwich was really good. My breakfast of basically all the carbs(biscuits & gravy, potatoes), plus some breakfast meat(bacon plus the sausage gravy on the biscuits) and eggs(over medium) was flat. The gravy was ok, but I’m Texan, so. well, yk, sausage and gravy better be sex or it’s not anything. Some salt and pepper helped. But the two things I just can’t get over is that my yolk was cooked through(boo, whyyyyy?) and in my entire life I’ve never had Sysco chunks of «potatoes,» deep fried, served as «hash browns.» And nope, don’t say«well, things are different from where the owner is from…» because I grew up in Texas and was lucky enough to make it back but consider my «formative years» to have been formed in prime diner-land, CT and NY. So, here’s the thing: Yep, some stuff was really good. But where it went wrong it went mysteriously wrong. It’s just. Were they potatos? Were they reformulated potato product? I know how nitpicky it sounds, but they were kind of not good. At all. Diners exist to provide a fast, cheap version of what you’d make at home. Weird potato chunks from Sysco don’t make an appearance at my house. So the suggestion is simple: Cut or grate potatoes. Cook with or w/out onion in a skillet or on a flat-top. Serve. We ordered Reubens to go for dinner when we got home. Again, ok, but… Just, but. I know my deli meats. My husband was«happy enough» to get a taste of «NYC born and raised» comfort food. but everything was just a half step off. :(I wanted to LOVE it. Maybe I just ordered too much of what I love, both Texan and NY. Next time, if there is one, maybe I’ll stick with pancakes. And drink less the night before.

I went years ago when it first opened and really it enjoyed it back then. I should have known better. First, the interior was dirty and my kids didn’t want to eat here. It bothered me that I bought the the kids and I a drink while we waited. I didn’t realize they came in a can and that we would have to repurchase drinks when we sat own for a late breakfast. Service was slow and the seating arrangements in the diner itself is too cramped. When the waitstaff runs into 2 guests to get to the corner table, its a problem. Food was mediocre and was barely room temperature when it hit our table. Won’t be back.

The food was a 3 out of 5. The service is a negative number out of 5. We had 5 people, and there was a table for 6 that was empty. We were shown to that table and then the manager started arguing with the waiter and said we couldn’t sit there. They crammed us into a booth instead, we couldn’t even read our menus at the same time. One person in our group was stuck sitting in the aisle. The waitress took our drink order and it took about 20 minutes to come back with our drinks and take our order. During that time, the larger table sat empty, and as the manager walked by, I asked if we could please sit there instead. She glared and snapped at me that no, it was for a group of 10(how would they fit???) people who had been here longer. It was so rude, the rest of my party wanted to leave. Her attitude was unneccessary, she could’ve just said«no, sorry,» and held back the face and tone. The waitress finally brought our food after 45 minutes, and it was«meh.» I’ve had better at Denny’s, but with less attitude. Also, they weren’t busy. They were only half-full. No one was bussing tables, yet people were still waiting outside. The manager stood behind the counter chatting while her staff blithely meandered around. There’s nothing there that’s «charming» enough to draw me back to be snapped at for no reason and served mediocre food in a cramped environment by people who would rather set you on fire than serve you. At least the food they serve you is a lot. Quantity not quality, I guess.

Wow, wow… Have to say it, never had a bad meal yet! Of course my sons pancake was huge, flavorful as usual(his favorite«in the world») and had to have the meat loaf with brown gravy instead of marinara and it was tender, had the Texas flavor with home made mashed potatoes and grilled squash. My wife had the Hullabaloo special«Philly» or in their case Texas grilled steak /onions and cheese sandwich! Yes, I and a couple of forks of it too… Still is the absolutely best steak sandwiches I have ever had and yes I’ve had them in NYC and Philly! Our only complaint was they were out of all pies!

Great place! They have perfection the«waiting for a table» process. They have someone playing great music, drinks and a bird name Turkey. Your having a good time just waiting for your table. They also have a ton of games. Very unique place! I got the biscuits and gravy egg plate. Very good and tastes fresh. You get a ton of food for $ 8 My husband got the chicken fried steak and eggs which was real good. We will definitely stop by next time we are in the area.

So, please keep in mind that I came here on a rainy day so I was already in a slightly bad mood at having to walk through mud to get into the diner. However, it still turned out to a be a decent place. Pros: + Plenty of boardgames that you can use to wait + fireplace + Great patio + Large selection of food + Cheap + Awesome house fries Cons: — The Mango juice wasn’t the best — Limited substitutions — I really wanted the kitchen sink omelette, but they wouldn’t take off the meat. — French toast was way too thick — undercooked sunnyside-up eggs — the white portions were a quite runny — Food was a little bland — Servers seemed a little hostile when asking questions — Felt a bit rushed out — food was on paper plates
