Miss Michelle’s Center for the Performing Arts provides quality dance and performing arts education for students age 2 through adult in a fun, nurturing, creative, safe and positive atmosphere. Under the guidance of our professonal teaching staff, students have the opportunity to explore their own artistry. We offer classes in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Modern, Tumbling, Contemporary, Lyrical and Theater. Additional programs include our Nutcracker Workshop, Spring Studio Production, Spring Ballet, Jazz Fest, Competition and Dancing at Disney World.

History

Established in 2008.

Miss Michelle’s opened in November 2008 and has been growing by leaps and bounds. Thank you everyone for your wonderful support!

Business Owner

Miss Michelle studied with Edmund Novak of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, as well as other professionals from major ballet companies around the United States. She has performed in The Nutcracker Ballet, Swan Lake, Raymonda and The Magic Toy Shop. She has her BA from Smith College and MA from the University of Southern California. She has taught dance in New England since 1991 and has choreographed many full-​length ballets, including The Nutcracker Ballet, The Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Cinderella, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Don Quixote, Raymonda, Le Coraire, La Fille mal gardee, Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast.

We LOVE Miss Michelle’s! I should preface my review by saying that a 5 star review doesn’t come easy from me, but I’d give this studio 10 stars if I could.
My daughter had taken dance for a number of years at various studios in the area. A different studio every year actually. None had been a very positive experience, so unfortunately she decided to stop taking dance. After taking 4 years off, she wanted to give it another try. I did my research on every dance school within a 20 mile radius. I spoke to other parents, watched dance classes, and met with the teachers. Once I met Miss Michelle, and my daughter tried one of her classes, we knew that we had finally found the perfect fit!
The instruction is top notch. The teachers are extremely patient and encouraging, and the parents and other students are very welcoming and positive toward each other. (I can assure you that it definitely is not like that everywhere you go). You can absolutely count on the fact that your child will be taught excellent dance technique, and will have fun doing it. I’ve seen incidents at other studios where dancers have been unnecessarily injured due to being pushed too hard beyond what they were ready for. I can assure you that does not happen here. Miss Michelle treats her students as if they were her own, and safety is a top priority here.
Besides the Nutcracker and two Spring productions (all fabulous I might add), Miss Michelle’s also gives the students an opportunity to be involved in other community events as well. Last year the girls volunteered their time to bring the Nutcracker production to the residents of two elderly housing facilities. They also marched in local parades, and put on shows at libraries and elementary schools. This year they are putting together a trip for the students to dance at Disney!
I obviously feel very fortunate to have found this studio. If you’re looking for a place to bring your child, this is it!

My daughter has attended Miss Michelle’s Performing Art Center since she was 2 years old, and I can’t say enough about the positive experience we’ve had at her studio. I was looking for a dance class where my daughter would have fun but also learn, and I am so impressed with the level of ballet and tap my daughter has mastered at 6 years old. Miss Michelle is wonderful with all the different age groups and classes are a good blend of discipline and silliness. She offers a range of dance classes, jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop and tumbling and even adult classes too. She has created a warm and inviting environment for all her students, and you can tell how much fun the girls are having. My daughter is always excited to attend class and even participated in the Nutcracker workshop this year, which is fantastic! Her shows are so entertaining. We will continue dancing with Miss Michelle and I strongly recommend her school, for any age.
