Absolutely the best ice cream ever. The place is a real hoot, read the signs and follow them, and a great seating area out back. We even got a chance to talk to Scott the owner.

New England is preoccupied with local, homemade ice cream… one of the many reasons why I love living in the northeast! Scoop Deck fits in with the very best, offering a lengthy list of delightful flavors. I had the cinnamon coffee cake, and was surprised by the quite generous portion of my single-​scoop cone.

Would go here every day if I lived here. Oh and wasn’t worried about getting fat. The ice cream is too die for. Check it out — you won’t be sorry. There were smiles everywhere as people sat out back eating their deliciousness.

2015 update… I’m happy to say the SD is still here. Furthermore they are still kicking ass, taking names, and serving up the best ice cream in ME. We’ve been in Wells for a couple weeks and have hit it up a few times so far. I’m loving the Sweet and Salty this year. The servers have been great this summer… No complaints from this guy. Also, we were able to bring our daughters (3yo and 6mo) here for their first trips. Both love it! Our 3yo loves the blueberry with jimmies. That’s all for now.

Delicious ice cream with some incredible flavor options. had the bubble gum. Yeah, as others have said, the portions are huge! the size illustrations on the board are pretty close to actual size, I would say. No Joke! I wish I had taken advantage of the «deal» and gotten a cone, dog & drink for $ 6, or the sampler. I had bubble gum overload, felt it the rest of the day. Cash only, ATM located on the side of the building.

What a great ice cream shop. Tons of flavors and very generous portions. The deck deal is the way to go. For $ 6 you get a hot dog any way you like it, a small soda, and a small ice cream. Nice treat just off of Rte 1.

Chocolate Cookie Monster is AMAZING! The servings are huge, I can’t imagine ordering more than a double kiddie. It’s a little chaotic trying to navigate the lines and the hustle and bustle but it’s so worth it! :D

Don’t be scared by a line. They move quickly. Cash only. A myriad of flavors. Try them all. You won’t be disappointed.

Lines for days but they moved very fast so don’t let that steer you away from this gem. Massive selection of ice cream and yogurt. Probably the tastiest ice cream I have ever had. We will be back for sure!

Simply the best ice cream you can have. They don’t even need to give out such large portions the ice cream is so good (But hey, who doesn’t like a lot of ice cream). They have some great flavors (graham central station etc.). Also I highly recommend the hot dog meal deal. You get a great hot dog with your choice of toppings and a small ice cream. All of this for $ 6 and change. This will be the best dinner you can get for the price. Go there and you won’t be dissapointed.

Outrageously good — over 50 flavors to chose from and the small in a waffle cone is about a pint of ice cream — oh yeah the ice cream is so good that it is impossible to stay away — save space after dinner for this «experience!»

The new chocolate almond, which is chocolate ice cream with tons of chocolate covered almonds, is really good.

What do you put in your ice cream that makes it so magical??? The portions are huge, I got a double kiddie so I could try two flavors and it was well over the top of their huge waffle cones. Peanut Butter Iditarod and Sweet & Salty are SO GOOD.

SUMMERTIME BLUES is the one. It has mascarpone, blueberries, and amazingness in-​between
It was a beautiful summer day when I went. We had come from the Wells beach and were looking to change scenery a bit. From the beach, it was only about a few min drive luckily.
We all sat outside in the picnic table to enjoy the awesome ice cream and the spacious sprawl of low-​cut grass. By the way, the portion was much much bigger than any other «small» sized scoops I’d seen! So I’d highly recommend finishing the ice cream at the table before driving off. With even the small size, it was impossible to finish clean. In fact, I’ve had to use quite a few napkins to clean myself.
Absolutely no complaints with the huge size though — I happened to choose just the best flavor! Summertime blues was so good. It was a unique flavor I’ve never had anywhere else, and one that would make the day special. Trust me, I’m not the one with the most eclectic preferences when it comes to ice-​cream flavors; I generally go for variations of coffee or chocolate. This one wins over any of those hackneyed classics. With it, finishing the huge size wasn’t a challenge really, I admit: P.
I gotta warn against just one thing: six-​flavor tester comes in a form of a pyramid. 3 flavors on the bottom-​tier, then 2 in the middle, and one on top. Visual might be thrilling, but not sure if it’s the most practical design for ice-​cream consumption. You’ll be in a sad race against time and will be put in a desperate position to work the ice-​cream while your friends watch your struggle with amusement and pity. My two friends ended up throwing out the half-​eaten mess after deciding that drinking the ice-​cream juice wasn’t an option. I agreed.
They only take cash, but have an ATM at the place.
Their parking space is generous. I went there on a saturday afternoon and they had a constant stream of customers. Parking was not a problem at all.

OK, I was talked into going back by a guard at our RV resort. She said to try the $ 5.00 hotdog meal that comes with a small (but very good sized) ice cream cone.
It ended up being $ 5.55– no chips, fries, etc. This came with a small soda (about half a can’s worth of soda plus ice) and probably the world’s smallest hotdog. It was another $ 1.45 to upgrade to the waffle cone. I ended up paying around $ 7.50−8 for the «meal».
On the plus side– the cone was huge. On the down side– I shouldn’t have spent the money on the hotdog and soda– NOT WORTH IT.
They also let you sample any flavor– which I should’ve done. The bubble gum ice cream had good flavor, but there were very few pieces of gum and it crumbled into unchewable nothingness in my mouth… so much for nostalgia.
It is a cute shop, but I favor quality over atmosphere, gimmicks and tourist favorites. At least I tried.

Been going here for years! Best Ice Cream around Wells! Even if there is a line, WAIT! Staff is fast and veey friendly.

Typical touristy ice cream shop. If your thing is soft serve, they have plenty of flavors available. The prices are reasonable, and there is some outside seating available.

Friends told us about this gem. Such a HUGE selection of ice cream. But they don’t sacrifice quality for selection. Their quality is great and the price is abnormally affordable for such large portions. I usually get 2 scoops wherever I go, but here, I got a ‘small’ which was equivalent to what I normally get elsewhere. Between my ‘small’ and my wife’s ‘x-​small’ we were both MORE than satisfied for less than 6 bucks! Unheard of.
Had the pistachio and it was one of the best I ever had. This is our official dessert spot in Maine.
