Update: my stylist left so I haven’t been here in almost 2 years. Even before my last visit the strip mall where they are located was in decline. Kroger, the anchor store was gone, along with other empty storefronts. Then there was a construction project from Pontiac Trail to their location that went on for a long time. The atmosphere didn’t seem the same just before I left this salon, maybe the employees were feeling disheartened. I wish the owner the best of luck, but it is not looking good.

LOOK NO MORE. this salon has it all, all your hair needs, make up, massage, nails and more. Its nicely decorated inside, Staff and owner are very friendly and experienced. I particulary like the stylist corriane, shes very talented and sweetest gal ever she goes the exra mile to satisfy her clients. I’ve lived in this area a long time and I tried many salons in w. bloomfield area only left with dissapointments and BAD experiences. I’m so excited to have finally found a great salon that mets all of my beauty needs. Indigo rocks!!!

I used to go to this salon when it first opened, back when Kroger was still open and they hadn’t added on the spa. My mom and I were both getting our hair cut by the same stylist. My mom has extremely difficult hair to work with and she seemed to like the cut this stylist was giving her so I figured I would make an appointment. Over time I felt as if the quality of the cuts started to slip. The prices here are very high which I don’t mind paying for a good haircut but that isn’t what I was getting.
The owner is very nice I feel badly for her since the entire strip mall they are located in is almost completely empty. It’s not a very nice experience. Once they opened the spa next door it seemed like every time I wanted to make an appointment they were completely booked but I would drive by and there would only be one client in the salon.
I still buy product from here but as far as haircuts… never again.

Well. I am truly disappointed. This went from my favorite salon to one I will never step foot in again unfortunately. I have been coming here for years because they have always done what I wanted for a girl with a budget. My stylist left the salon, and I still wanted to give them my business. I brought in my $ 15 off coupon for a different stylist, and the first thing I told her was, «I want to stay at $ 55 so that I can use my coupon bringing the total to $ 40 for a root touch up» on my highlighted hair. She acknowledged me and began my hair service after discussing what I wanted. She was lovely and I do not at all blame her for this incident, I recommend her as a stylist, she did exactly what I wanted and my hair turned out like I asked. That being said, I only wanted my new growth touched up and again I said that to her right away, however she apparently added low lights as well as the new growth highlights. I told her not to blow dry my hair, again because I have been out of work not to mention financially struggling.
I walked up to the counter to pay, and the owner informed me that I owe $ 100, $ 85 after my coupon. I was in shock standing there with wet hair, and said over and over that I told not only my stylist but the owner that I always stay at $ 55 and only make an appointment when I have a coupon. She became rude and sarcastic to me and said «oh honey not $ 55 for highlights and lowlights». And began to argue with me in the salon about the cost. She then embarrassed me by saying that «we always have this conversation about not being able to afford more than $ 55» and that’s when I really became uncomfortable. I couldn’t believe how unprofessional she was to me. Especially when I told them both right away to do what they could for that strict budget before she started the service. Some how I guess I was supposed to magically know how much their services cost and that no one would explain to me that they were charging me more before actually beginning the coloring service. Also the owner acknowledging that this is what I ask for every time and what I pay every time, she should have known! I’m not proud that I haven’t been working or able to afford to treat myself, and this experience was not a treat whatsoever.
Then she said «fine $ 55» and took my card out of my hand and swiped it. I didn’t realize until I left the salon that she took my coupon and didn’t even apply the $ 15. I came back in after being treated totally unfairly, and she said «well you already got more than $ 15 off so» And rolled her eyes, shaking her head, handed me another coupon for my next service. Are u kidding me? You charged my card for an unauthorized amount and then refused to adjust it and humiliated me in your salon for YOUR mistake and you think I would actually come back? I slid the coupon back to her and said no thanks. I will no longer support someone’s salon who treats me like this.

Indigo salon and serenity spa is such a beautiful and relaxing place! The staff is friendly and professional, and the atmosphere is calm and inviting. You immediately feel at ease when you walk in the door. The stylists are great. They are talented and receptive, and I’ve always walked away happy with the service.
The spa services are also excellent. I had a one hour massage here, and it was wonderful. The massage therapist was friendly, professional, and skillful. I felt so relaxed when I left. Definitely a great place to unwind and have a day for yourself.

I recently got my hair cut here and I really liked it.
Stephanie was very friendly and cut my hair just like the picture. The salon was super clean and friendly.
I only give it ⁴⁄₅ stars because when I was going to check out, there was clearly a friend of the boss at the register and they were just chatting for like 5 minutes. No one said anything to me or rang me up along side her. A little annoying but I will be back! After this person left they rang me up.

This is a very relaxing salon, which seems hard to find. Most of the ones I’ve been to in area area are very loud and busy, even in the massage areas. I called for an appointment that afternoon and was told I could get in about a half hour later. The salon has very warm tones and is overall very quiet, with appropriate music (but not elevator music). Both the woman that was managing the front desk and the phones and my stylist were very friendly. I was given a tour of the salon and spa (all clean and very pretty) and had the option between tea, water, coffee, and I think she said wine. I don’t know if the wine was a joke, I might ask next time. My stylist, Stephanie, seemed very knowledgeable and wasn’t pushy about doing anything to my hair I didn’t want. My hair turned out great, and I purchased some product that she had mentioned without coming off as making a sales pitch. They have some really great coupons and discounts on various services that will keep me coming back.

I had a good experience at Indigo Salon. Everything is clean and professional with out the snobby feeling. I am excited to see their expansion and looking forward to going there to get a massage. I would have given it 5 stars if I would’ve had a scalp massage while I was getting shampooed… thats the best.

Di at Indigo was awesome. She knew what would match my skin tone and did awesome highlights. The place is clean. They don’t try to sell you stuff. Make you very welcome. I will definitely go back here.

Tried to let my hair grow out. Meh. This time I told Connie to do what she felt was best. Yikes! Back to the short pixie that was tried and true for decades. And it still packs pizazz. Feel back to my sassy self. Great cut.
And it was like no time had elapsed. Connie started the convo based on where we’d left off. Just like old friends, I again felt welcome and valued. Even was thanked for my previous Unilocal review.

Beautiful salon with talented, educated and professional stylists! Just moved to the area and so happy I found such a great place!

Great salon! I’ve been getting my nails done by Clara since October and could not be happier. Plus, it was recently taken over by new management — who has and continues to make significant improvements (not that it needed it). Professionally run and a great atmosphere.
I just got shellac done today! I would definitely recommend it to all of my friends — lasts two weeks, not damaging to your nails and done by a certified professional.
