Rear Ends

I can’t shop there anymore because they no longer carry men’s jeans — but I used to love it and have many family members that do and they love it! Please sell men’s jeans again! Anyway, I’m writing this review not only to share my pleasant experience, but also to comment on a disturbing review. Eli H’s comment seems to be motivated by a desire to disparage women business owners. The review makes reference to the owner/operator’s gender (calls her «Mrs. Businesswoman»). While there isn’t necessarily anything disparaging about calling someone «Mrs. Businesswoman,» it does immediately raise an eyebrow by its emphasis on gender. When you consider the fact that the specific comment was written as it’s own sentence (for further emphasis), and that it exists only to point out the fact that the operator is a woman, rather than simply to address someone whose name is unknown to the writer — you can only conclude that the entire review is disingenuous, and likely just a reaction to the reviewer’s personal views on women in business. This would be a violation of the Unilocal content guidelines. If you read it and agree please report it as I have.

One of the truest examples of old school retail, family owned and cared for for nearly 40 years. In the world of big box stores and worse, impersonal internet immediate gratification shopping, few stores stand on their morals and beliefs today as they did 4 decades ago… It amazing to see the families second generation now so involved and running things and maintaining the same values, customer relationships, attention to detail and shoppers happiness over the sale as they do. You never see a smile of satisfaction when you hit place order on amazon. To support these type of businesses even if it means you may pay a dollar more here or there is what will maintain the american dream and insure that when you need someone to tell you the truth.“your ass looks fat in that jean and skinny in this one” you won’t get that outside of your local small business retailer… the effort that goes into opening the door, servicing the customer and turning the lights off at night shows each time you walk in… I am happy to know the owners and feel like family for over 20 years!

I bought my first pair of Sutters from here (remember those!) in probably 1998 from here, from the place that taught me what great quality clothing and denim really is — and what it means to find the perfect pair for you. Ever since, despite moving to Chicago over a decade ago, this place still remains on top of my list for places to visit when I am back in Michigan. For personalized customer service, amazing unique selections you can’t find anywhere else and a fantastic family run business — you MUST VISIT this place!

Ariana and Elaine are the most knowledgable outfitters for every shape and size when it comes to jeans. I’ve always left the store with adorable, complete outfits and feeling like a million dollars. They infuse confidence into their clients while you shop

I bought jeans at rear ends many many years ago when they used to sell men’s jeans. It was great then! Since then my wife and relatives and friends have shopped there regularly. It is still great! It is a warm, inviting company that has always had great products, great staff, and been enjoyed by everyone in their community. And I have only ever heard great things about Rear Ends from others as well.

This is my favorite place to buy jeans — I’ve been coming here since high school! The jeans may be a bit pricey but the last for such a long time. The staff is always really nice and very helpful. I have a hard time finding jeans that fit my unique body shape but they always do a great job of assisting me in my search for the perfect pair.

In all of the cities that I work and travel to (New York, LA, Miami) I always find myself returning to Rear Ends on any business or vacation trip to the Detroit area. No matter how long or short my trip is, I always find time to stop in. Their selection of clothes from casual to great pieces for a night out, cover ups for the beach or warm winter gear is the best in the area (and beyond). Not only that, when I see something online or in a magazine (or my Mom wants to be extra generous) they SHIP to me wherever I am.

Eli– it is unfortunate that you did not have a good experience. It is more unfortunate that you wrote such a biased and unfair review of RE on Unilocal.I have nothing but good things to say about RE. The store owners boast decades of fashion expertise and they have always hand picked each piece of clothing for the store’s inventory. They know their product, fashion trends, and their clients, and they (the owners) are lovely human beings. In fact, when my siblings and I lost our mother to cancer many many years ago, the owners took special care of us, giving us the best prices they could, caring for us as if we were their own. I’m sure their daughter, who works with them now, not only carries on this important legacy, but takes the same pride in her work and her customers!

Awesome store! Best place to go! Customer service is great! And they always carry things that you can’t find anywhere else! I highly recommend!!!

I bought my first pair of Z Cavs here in 1991 and I’ve been shopping at Rear Ends ever since. I have lived in New York City for 13 years and I still work with the staff over the phone, FaceTime and an odd occasional visit. I haven’t bought a pair of jeans anywhere else… ever. I’ve been heavy and I’ve been thin and either way the staff at Rear Ends never let me leave without looking my best. They advise me re: which wash or color or distress level I should get for the season… and for my body. If Mark, Elaine and Ariana don’t approve of my look, I don’t buy it. They want me to feel confident and stylish and I trust them, even if they make fun of my aversion to patterns.

Never will return to this place… overpriced clothing that you can buy at Von Maur for less than half the price. Mind you my wife has spent thousands in there. Very dissatisfied. Customer service is a 0, please don’t tell me how you have been in business over 38 years… you obviously don’t know how to keep a customer happy. And by the way you should change your website to reflect your business hours, because they’re clearly wrong. Mrs business woman. Let me teach you something about business, success is a journey not a destination., always take care of your customers and you’ll always be successful. After 38 years you finally got a second store, that don’t sound like success…

Great Service at REAR ENDS. I frequent this store often and am always pleased with the attentive service I recieve. Julie waited on me last time I was in the store, she was honest and told me what looked good or not. She gave me new things that I would not have thought of choosing. She exemplified what «customer service» is all about. Even gave me a follow up call on something I was looking for. I would much prefer to give a local business my money, versus a national chain, especially when I am treated so well.

The greatest store to shop in! The salespeople help you find items that are perfect for you, they do not try to sell you things that really aren’t for you, they are kid friendly, and they have a great selection that is ever changing.

When I head back to the metro Detroit area, this is usually one of my stops. I have been to several «denim» stores and bars in Chicago and have to say that I’d rather deal with the experienced, friendly and helpful staff at Rear Ends than some 20 year old bored and annoyed to be at work at the Denim Bar — sorry but true!
Rear Ends carries every brand possible — AG, Citizen, Seven and although pricey, I get a great fit, alterations done in a couple of days (across the street folks) and I’m ready to go!

If you are a denim-​aholic like myself: Rear Ends is your heaven.
Not only do they offer all the top brands, ranging from Silver to Citizens and Sevens and True Religion and Antik and Joes and Paige, but they offer service. They will spend time with you, telling you exactly how the jeans should fit, what to look for based on your body type, and they will not rest til you find the perfect pair of jeans that make you feel like a million bucks.
In addition they offer shirts and sweaters and coats and accessories from some of the higher end designers of casual clothes (James Perse t-​shirts, C&C California sweats) and if you think it’s a little too much to pay (I have a hard time escaping this store under $ 300) check out the sidewalk sale they throw at least once a year.

The name speaks for itself right? Rear Ends houses thousands and thousands of jeans. Anything you want, they got it. Whether it’s True Religion, Citizens for Humanity, Seven, etc., they have it in many diverse styles. I admit, I am more comfortable spending $ 60 on a pair of Express jeans because I know their sizes fit. However, if you are like my friends (who pay $ 150+ for jeans), then this is the place you want to check out. They also have t-​shirts and accessories that you can pair with the denim, in case you need a quick outfit.
