He’s going to toot his own horn and say that «he’s the best choreographer in the country» and that he has such and such accreditation, but none of that means shit. I’m a former dancer of 20 years, and I know what to expect from a choreographer. Basically, all Glenn did was take our money. He asked for our music ahead of time so that he could choreograph the dance. We sent him our CD which unbeknown to us was actually burned to a DVD, so he said no worries, just bring the CD in on your first lesson, which we did. I also gave him my expectation for our dance, and we didn’t even get «choreography». We got some improvised steps that he made up on the spot, that were so basic and nothing like what I was looking for. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, my fiancé and I went home and practiced, and we went back to our second lesson. Had we not practiced and known what we were doing, we would have been starting from scratch because he didn’t even remember what he taught us, let alone remember the CD that we left with him! Every email that we exchanged said he had the choreography done, but he didn’t. He didn’t even have the music cut like we had asked him to do, and there’s no way you can choreograph a dance without the cut music. It’s impossible to know what’s being kept, and what’s being cut out, or if the tempo is going to be changed. Every lesson was made up on the spot, and then our time was wasted because he couldn’t get the moves to fall at the appropriate time in the music. So to fill the gap, we got to do the same basic boring step over and over and over. What kind of audience wants to see that? After much disappointment with our experience, I told him that maybe we weren’t the right match for each other, and all of a sudden he got extremely defensive and started blaming us for all the mishaps. We did our part, we practiced what he gave us (we actually practiced so much, and the steps are so stupid and basic, that I can probably still show you how dumb they are now two months later), we came in on time and prepared to learn more, and hopefully learn something a little more show worthy. He was the one that wasn’t on his game, he had no cut music, and no choreography, and he couldn’t remember anything he taught us! On one occasion, I emailed him to ask how a step was done again, and he said «is that at the beginning, or the end?» He didn’t even know! At that point we didn’t even know where it was going either because like I mentioned, he didn’t choreograph anything. We were asked to practice it and he’d figure out where it goes later. I asked for a refund, but he didn’t give us all our money back. After countless attempts to call and email him, all of which were ignored, we sent him certified mail which also went ignored. So we stopped in to speak with him since that was our only option, and again, we were the bad guys. This has been going on since March. I’ve tried to handle this like a professional adult, but now it’s May, and I’ve had enough. This man is delusional, and heaven forbid anyone should tell him he’s doing something wrong. Save your money and go somewhere else who actually cares about you. I have copies of our email exchange, and screen shots of all my ignored calls, and a screen shot showing that he never accepted our certified mail.
