Ordered dinner for six people and questioned the clerk at the drive thru about only receiving one bag. She assured me that everything ordered was in the bag. Got home and emptied the bag to find two sandwiches missing. I contacted Rick the manager who told me to return and he would fill the order. While waiting in the line for the drive thru to get the rest of the order, I had the wonderful time of watching an older gentleman who was employed there stand out the back door smoking and coughing up crap and spitting all over. This guy at best has a upper respiratory infection and pneumonia at the worst. I mentioned this to the manager and that the gentleman should probably not be handling food. The manager basically just handed over my food without so much as a sorry for the inconvenience. Poor service, sick people working with food, enjoy your dinner!

This place is fantastic! The food was delicious and the staff was acceptable. I understand what people are saying about not overly friendly but It’s a fast food place despite not having that feel. The burger was not very filling. The meat seemed«fluffy.» Again good but its tough to explain. Price was unbeatable. I would recommend going here.

A little shocked at how low rated this Steak n Shake has so I figured I should step in. I don’t know what everyone else is complaining about but the entire wait staff here was incredibly delightful. We were seated, waited upon and served in post haste — all with a smile on our lovely server’s face. Additionally, our cashier was equally jovial. So whatever bad attitude/slow wait time everyone else received, I would highly advise to give this location another shot.

Don’t come here often because I am not from this area of town– But wanted to leave a quick comment about how great the service was– The restaurant was packed but it didn’t seem to phase our waitress– Food came out exactly how we ordered– Yum!

So. Bad. Stopped here with some friends before we came back home from visiting family. Waited 10 mins to be seated. Once we were seated, we were told that there was a 30 minute wait for shakes because they took the machine apart. Ordered our food. My steak burger with cheese came out dripping with ranch dressing, and so did someone else’s at the table. What? No one asked for ranch at at all, so I’m not sure what happened. 2 of us got shakes about 10 mins after the food came out. Red velvet. Horrible. The other 2 were told that they wouldn’t be getting their shakes because of issues with the shake machine and because their orders weren’t put in and now they were«next to last in line for shakes.» What? We were told that all of the toppings/mix ins for the shakes were spilled everywhere and that was part of the reason why. Then, unannounced, one of the shakes that we were told wouldn’t be made, arrived at the table and it was a light beige color. Inedible. Also, it’s worth noting that it wasn’t that busy in here at 11pm on a Saturday, but there was a crowd of people standing at the front door waiting to be seated, and 3 or 4 guys who waited about 40 minutes for to go shakes. Not sure what happened. Would have spoken to the manager, but didn’t see one.

It’s Steak N Shake. Food-wise, they are all basically the same. I’m writing this review solely to comment on the slowness of this particular location. It was not exceedingly busy when we got there, and we actually got seated quickly. Then we sat and waited. And waited. Followed by more waiting. Finally a waitress started walking up to us. But all she did was ask if we had been helped yet and said someone would be by shortly. And so we waited some more. Just as we were about to give up, the waitress finally showed up. From there it was fine, the order was correct and the food was proper. Normally I might write it off as just an unlucky experience. But while I was there, I saw another couple sit and wait, and wait, and wait, just as we had. But no one ever gave them the time of day, so they finally gave up and walked out. I also witnessed another table getting slow service and eventually had their order come out with errors. Bottom line: if you are here for a quick meal(especially to catch a movie on time next door), you might want to reconsider.

If this had been my first experience with a Steak and Shake I can say I’d never be walking into one of their stores again. The food was certainly not up to par. Service was lacking, with the order wrong, sides not delivered and basically not welcoming at all. This place had the feel of an ‘after thought’ and certainly could use some training in the branding of Steak and Shake.

As far as fast food goes, everything was great. Delicious burgers, tasty bacon cheese fries and an amazing chocolate shake. Service was better than average and everything was very clean. I have nothing to complain about!

Yikes. We like Steak ‘n Shake, but we must have come on an off day. Not sure what was going on, but if we need some fast food options on our way back home, this probably won’t make the cut.

In general, I tend to not be a huge fan of Steak N Shake. It’s not that I dislike the food, it’s mediocre, and that wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t horrendously overpriced. and while the food is at least consistently mediocre, the shakes are usually hit or miss. It’s no fun to discover the most delicious shake on the menu, only to order it again next time and have it taste completely different. However, my biggest qualm with this particular location, is not the food, rather it’s the staff, and their lack of common sense. This Steak N Shake is located directly across from the Rave movie theater, which hosts many midnight release showings each year. One would think, since it’s the only restaurant in the vicinity open that late, they would realize they’re going to have extra business on the nights of these midnight showings. If they didn’t predict it the first time, I’m willing to give them some leeway. I’ve eaten at the restaurant(due to lack of other options) before three midnight releases this year, and every single time the restaurant is pack with hungry people and staffed minimally. On two of the occasions, we ordered our food, and didn’t get it for at least one hour. I can’t really blame the servers for forgetting our table, or mixing up orders, because when you’ve got two people covering the entire restaurant, unless they’re super human, they’re going to make some mistakes. But you would think the managers would LEARN from these situations(because I’m sure it’s been the same for many other midnight releases that I haven’t been to) and schedule more staff on these nights. Until someone at this location starts using their brain, I’m going to start packing a lunch or something for the midnight releases.
