History

Established in 1970.

Four decades have now passed since I humbly began my business with a phone call. A dear friend called to invite me to take a series of cake decorating classes at her home, which I can see now turned a 45 degree corner in my life. Who would have thought that this young mom with two small babies and a very accommodating husband would begin building this «God Gifted» business call The Master’s Baker. The business grew as our family grew, but I held my family oriented priorities and kept a lid of this steaming ‘cake business’ pot until my six children grew into their teens. After that, the ‘lid’ came off, and I headed full steam ahead in growth.

My family is still an intricate part of my business with each of my six kids and my husband, Paul, playing a vital supporting role. We have grown from a nucleus of 8 to 21, adding 3 sweet daughter-​in-​loves, and 10 «grand» kids. We used Master’s Baker for our wedding cake as part of our venue. At the end of the day, the staff members are nice, and the cake tasted great. But, there were some issues. For one, I don’t know if there is miscommunication within the staff, but we got different information from different people but it eventually got sorted at the end. Secondly, yes our cake tasted great, but as a wedding cake, it should also look nice! I attached the 3 photos our photographer took of the cake, which shows giant cracks (who, by the way, wasn’t trying to capture the flaws, just trying to capture the cake). This was even after we had rotated the cake, because the other side looked even worse! Unfortunately (or fortunately for our wedding album?) we didn’t capture any images of the other side.

Did my son’s Bar Mitzvah cake and we couldn’t be happier! Melissa was wonderful to work with. She listened to what he was looking for and then executed it beautifully. The cake was incredible to look and even better to eat. She also made some delicious gluten-​free cupcakes for our party, as well! Thrilled from start to finish. Will definitely use again!

Master’s Baker just did our wedding cakes and they were SO PINTEREST WORTHY ITS AMAZING. We got a 5 tiered «barely naked» carrot cake & a flourless chocolate cake for our gluten free friends. THE CAKES WERE SO DELICIOUS.
Master’s baker has done various cakes for us over the years, but this was just the TOP. They have done gorgeous graduation cakes and 40th birthday cakes, etc. The artistic, creative, classy design and the way that their staff interacts with each client is so amazing.
My venue offered «free» wedding cakes from other local bakeries, and we asked if we could bring in Master’s Baker. They BLEW the venue away. If you want a DEFINITE winner for important cakes in your life, go to Master’s Baker so you can rest assured that it will be beautiful and taste amazing.

I have used them in the past and the cakes have been good, but in a bit of a bind and in need of a cake/​cupcakes/​something for the weekend they were not even willing to discuss my needs, just «sorry, orders were cut off 2 weeks ago, sorry» so won’t be going back there, I need more flexibility in my life. I am guessing this place is more for the wedding cake and huge party planners.

The Master’s Baker made our wedding cake 1 year ago today. Yesterday, we picked up our 1 year anniversary cake (this is included when they make your wedding cake). They were my favorite wedding vendor because they listen to you, treat you with the utmost respect, and make wonderful cakes! Our cake tasting was a lot of fun and in a beautiful setting. I would recommend them to anyone getting married.

Went in for our wedding cake tasting. I’m not a dessert/​cake person so wasn’t expecting to be blown away… but definitely was! Awesome cake, really great flavors (i.e. Mint Chocolate Chip cake — which we chose for the wedding), and their designs are really fantastic. Top that off with staff that is very professional, friendly, and fun to deal with and its a win in every situation.
Cant say enough great things about Master’s Baker. Definitely keep them on your list to visit time and time again!

We used the Masters Baker for our wedding cake… it was gorgeous and so moist and tasty. We got the lemon raspberry and vanilla Crème cakes with raspberry filling and buttercream icing! It was fantastic we got married 2 weeks ago and the cake is still moist and delicious! Any time we are close we stop in to get some cake tins!

I actually found this on Unilocal as I needed a 60th birthday cake for my boyfriend’s parents. Yes, both parents were turning 60 within 8 days of each other and threw a surprise birthday party at our house. What a success, including the cake!
When I called inquiring about their pricing and cakes, they were very helpful and friendly. I stopped in and dropped off the invitation asking them to replicate as best they could knowing it was for a man and a woman. Turned out classy and better than I had hoped for. $ 75 for 10 or 12 in round feeding 20 – 25 people was perfect as not everyone was a cake eater, but was worth the money.
Everyone loved the cake and would definitely go back for other occasions!

The wedding cake I had from MB was phenomenal. It was even good a year later. However, this was in 2006. I went to a party in January and the hostess was upset with the cake she received because she said it wasn’t what she ordered. It tasted ok-​not great, not terrible. I went to a friend’s graduation party a few weeks ago and there was another beautiful MB cake. Immediately upon cutting a slice, it crumbled. This cake was the driest cake I’ve ever eaten. Good flavor, but we were joking that we felt like dogs with peanut butter on the roofs of our mouths.
Perhaps they have new bakers? New ownership? I don’t know. It’s a shame. They were the best.

We couldn’t have asked for anything better! Our wedding cake was absolutely beautiful, and it was even better than we had imagined it to be. The consultation was easy, they really seemed to understand what we wanted. The cake represented us perfectly and complimented the colors and theme of our wedding. Not only was it beautiful, it was delicious! Everyone who attended the wedding said the cake was the best they had ever seen or tasted. If anyone is looking for a perfect cake for their wedding or special event, I would highly recommend using this bakery!

What an amazing pair of cakes! We got our wedding cake and the groom’s cake from Master’s Baker! Not only were they delicious (I’m not much of a cake person but loved them) they were so beautiful and very thoughtfully designed. Imagine getting married in January with 22 inches of snow falling in 6 hours and still having your snowflake cake arrive without a hitch? That is the kind of service you receive from Master’s. I can’t thank you enough for one of the biggest days in my life, they put first and got our cake there without even a question.
Imagine needing a cake for a party of 50 and forgetting to order it and realizing two days before the party you need to call in a quick order? Master’s took care of it!

No other bakery comes close!
Birthdays are special to me and everyone I know and so the cake, in many ways, has the star role in the party. We have been going to the Master’s Baker for YEARS and never once have we been anything but thrilled! There have been times when we did not know exactly what we wanted the cake to look like but told them them theme of the party, knowing they would do something amazing. They did. They always do. And let’s be clear, a cake needs to be «pretty» but it better taste AMAZING. I could go on and on for days about the butter cream icing… oh my. Their cakes are works of art… for the eyes and the taste buds. Now I am thinking about the icing. Oh no.
I love to see small places like this thrive and know I will continue to support them. No other cake I have ever had has come close. Keep it up, Master’s Baker!!!

The Master’s baker made a surprise «groom’s cake» for my wedding. They worked hard to work with copyright laws to make the cake I requested happen. I got a chocolate chip cake with fudge filling, and everyone told me it was tasty (brides never get to taste the cake…). The designs were simply GORGEOUS and perfect. They made me a fun, colorful cake that had serious «wow» factor. Their customer service was fabulous, understanding, and very easy to work with. I’d get another cake from them for a big event.

I had to use The Master’s Baker because they worked with the company who did my wedding in 2008. The cake wasn’t exactly how I wanted it appearance wise. It was acceptable, but on your wedding you want it to be phenomenal. We froze the top layer to eat on our one year anniversary. The cake still tasted good one year later.

Okay, I ordered a cake and it looked absolutely adorable. Unfortunately, the filling wasn’t what I asked for and a few letters fell off and the cake was a little dry. Now, I have had cakes from here before and they were awesome. So, in my travels, I’ve noticed I have terrible luck. I contacted the business and they had BY FAR, the best customer service of anywhere I’ve ever dealt with, food, clothing, whatever. Very concerned about the outcome of their product and more than willing to work with you. Based on that alone, I probably would use them again.
