I ventured out into West Chicago for one reason — Uncle Mikey’s What Not Shoppe. I was eager to buy another torchiere candelabra lamp, and his price was too good to pass up. While I was there — I wandered around the entire place. The building that houses this shop, used to be a bank! The vintage hardware is now kept in the vault. that you can walk into! While my lamp was most definitely from the 1930’s — his specialty is totally the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. He has a great selection of mid-century furniture and lots of records and other cool antiques. The shop is well kept, and the staff is very friendly. If you find yourself in West Chicago, wander in. It’s worth it!
