We specialize in made from scratch Southern desserts. Our bakeshop features cakes, pies, cobblers, and candies. Enjoy our signature treats such as: almond cake, red velvet cake, chocolate bacon, peach cobber and variety of cakepops. We sell our dessert by the slice or pre-​order whole cakes for pickup. We also provide dessert catering for special events such as weddings, birthdays, corporate events and anniversaries.

History

Established in 2011.

When the Dessert Maven, Shennice Cleckley, was a little girl, she told her mom she wanted to be a cookery. My Dessert Bar is a little girl’s dream come true. My Dessert Bar is the fusion of years of baking experience, unrelenting passion and delicious family recipes.

Shennice started baking professionally in 2003. In 2005, she opened a coffeehouse/​bookstore in North Columbia that featured her chocolates and pastries. In 2011, Shennice revamped the business to become My Dessert Bar dessert catering. In 2014, My Dessert Bar opened it’s first retail location at 134 State Street in W. Columbia. The bakeshop is ready to serve by the slice and pre-​ordered whole cakes and desserts.

Shennice is the Dessert Maven for My Dessert Bar. With a passion for baking and flair for creativity, Shennice has been cooking up delicious desserts since 2003.

Family life is very important to our Dessert Maven. Shennice is married with 4 kids and 1 grandchild. She is a alumnus of Columbia College with a degrees in Political Science and Public Policy. She is a member of Junior League of Columbia, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc, and Restoration Life Ministries COGIC.
