History
Established in 2006.
Mirus Secondary School replicates the successful design and accomplishments of the Altus Network of Charter Schools. A visionary model for educational reform, the Altus Network also includes The Charter School of San Diego (est. 1994) and Audeo Charter School (est. 2001). A California Department of Education Charter Schools grant was awarded to Altus and provided the initial funding to replicate and establish Mirus in the summer of 2006. Mirus operates as a private, non-profit corporation.
The Hesperia Unified Board of Education unanimously approved the Mirus Secondary School charter on March 19, 2007, and then again in May 2012, for a five-year term. The School’s solid business model has allowed for steady growth and expansion. Mirus began in 2007 with one classroom. Today, the company boasts 18 employees and three Learning Centers. Student enrollment topped 300 this year.
