Krista K’s Ice Cream

Okay, I used to go here quite a lot over the last 10 – 15 years. Usually as an after-​dinner treat with my daughter. Once she got into high school, all these treats became less frequent, so I have not been a customer for a few years now.
So, imagine my surprise — having decided to stop in for old time’s sake and have a small treat — at paying almost $ 4.20 for a *small* soft serve ice cream cone.
Zero flavor, perfunctory service, filthy premises, and absolutely insulting-​crazy prices.
No need for me to ever return: there are far too many fantastic places within a five minute drive to ever go back.
Kinda sad.

I’ve been going to Krista’s K pretty much every summer at the Cape. Yeah. I’ll be going elsewhere from now on.
I went there with my husband on Saturday night to grab some ice cream. We walked in and it was pretty dead not like it is usually during the summer months. We walked up to the counter and were greeted by a rude cashier. She was extremely rude and condescending during the whole conversation. My husband asked if they had any Italian ice and the girl stated she had «no idea what that was». Really? You work in an ice cream place and you’ve never heard of Italian ice? Did you grow up under a rock? She continued to give my husband attitude. I was pretty fed up with the attitude. There was no reason for it. I can take my business else where.

Lots of flavors. It can be overwhelming. The line moves quickly, so don’t be intimidated. The ice cream is good, and so is the fudge. Everything is very reasonable priced. Would recommend.

Krista Ks is your pretty standard ice cream shop! Service is great they make sure that the line moves fast and your not waiting long. Lots of variety in flavors wether you want hard ice cream or soft serve. Very clean and lots of seating inside and outside. My favorite thing about Krista Ks is the dipped waffle cones you can pair soft serve or hard ice cream with a dipped waffle cone of your choosing! Pretty good ice cream spot on the Cape!

My favorite ice cream place on the Cape! To me, Krista K’s is better than other parlors nearby such as Cape Cod Creamery and Sundae School. Moves faster than Cape Cod Creamery because there is 2 registers. They make signature waffle cones fresh to order. You can get oreo waffle cones, waffle cones with sprinkles, heath bar waffles cones etc. They have so many flavors of soft serve and hard serve. Ever hear of Kiwi soft serve ice cream? Me either. Krista K’s has countless unique soft serve flavors. These soft serve flavors could turn you into a soft serve fan! As well as the popular ice cream, there is also fudge and candy sold at the other end of the building. as if the ice cream wasn’t enough. They also have a water dispenser which is awesome to me because I am always thirsty after ice cream!
Wait service– All employees are very quick and efficient. Lines move quickly thanks to their hard work and generosity.
Food quality– Great ice cream. I could go every night!
Wait time– Goes so fast. Every good ice cream place needs a little bit of time so you can decide what you want!
Atmosphere– Plenty of seating. Friendly people and tasty ice cream. All you can ask for.

We have gone to Krista K’s serval times throughout the week that we have stayed in the Cape. I’ve gotten hard ice cream twice and soft serve ice cream twice. Both types were awesome! For soft serve ice cream I had almond and piña colada. The almond flavor was very subtle. I also added hot fudge on top of the almond flavor and it was a great combo. The piña colada flavor was perfect (not to sweet). Had the perfect hint of pineapple and coconut. I did not add anything for toppings to piña colada. For hard serve ice cream I got the same thing both time 1 scoop black raspberry and 1 scoop peppermint stick. This year I’ve stuck with waffle cones. They have specialty ones with different toppings that you can order and are made fresh as you order.
Wait service: there really isn’t to much people interaction but the ladies that take your order are always pleasant. The ladies scoop your ice cream always are nice as they give it to you. Last night we hit it just right. It was my busy at all when we got there and we ordered right away but as soon as we got our ice cream a huge crowd came in. Even on nights that it is busy the line usually moves pretty fast.
Food quality: I love their ice cream! I do prefer their hard serve over soft serve. I always feel not satisfied with the soft serve but quality is still very good.
Wait time: depends on when you hit it. Even when you do have to wait I don’t think I have ever had to wait more than 10 to 15 mins max from order to served.
Atmosphere: cute ice cream parlor. I like the way they have you order and then move to the corresponding side to pick up your ice cream. It makes it easier to know what side your ice cream is going to be coming out on.

Krista K’s is a great ice cream place! It is a cute parlor in a great location. The line was long but we went on a Saturday night and it went very fast. I got cookie dough ice cream in an Oreo waffle cone and it was delicious!
Atmosphere: great for families, very clean and spacious
Wait time: about 10 minutes in line. went fast for how busy it was
Wait service: relatively quick… less than five minutes
Food quality: Great! The ice cream was sweet and delicious!

Bright, local family owned little shop with tons of varieties and toppings. Staff is friendly. Best Oreo fudge in the world and they will ship it for you!

Stopped here after day at the beach. Very clean and plenty of seating indoor. Had the chocolate almond frozen yogurt that had just the perfect amount of chocolate flavor. All four of us enjoyed our selections! Great find!

Love Krista K’s! Great family-​owned place. Tons of hard and soft ice cream flavors to choose from!

Decent fudge $ 12 a pound. Small candy selection aside from that, service was super slow but friendly. We did go on a Monday afternoon, probably not their busy time. It almost looked like the place was closing down, but it was clean and bright.

I’ve been going to the cape for my whole life. Since we are more of the outer cape type of family, I never really needed to venture down past Orleans. Well my boyfriend has been promising me that there was phenomenal ice cream down in Dennis where his family used to stay. I was pretty skeptical since I’m a purist and like my tried and true Outer Cape spots. I was finally talked into heading to Dennis this past weekend with the promise of Butterscotch ice cream. Upon entering Krista Ks, you’ll see a massive line up of all of the flavors they offer. I found butterscotch (under the soft serve) and promptly ordered some. I was confused because the menu said it only came in one size so I was hoping it wasn’t just a dollop of ice cream. Luckily, it came in a dish (you can have a cone but I hate that mess) and was more than enough to satisfy my craving. I haven’t had butterscotch in years and it was amazing. I highly recommend getting that.

I almost never eat ice cream (it’s the whole i’d-rather-spend-calories-on-foie-gras-instead-of-ice-cream thing).
But, I went to Krista K’s on a family trip a few weeks ago. Results? It was ice cream. They had a lot of flavors, a lot of toppings (you couldn’t actually see the toppings until you got to the front of the line and had one second to tell them what you wanted on your order), and well, it was ice cream. Seriously, I still prefer Cherry Garcia from the frozen aisle. It’s good when on the Cape and little ones need sugar before bed.

So my oldest asks for Del’s and off we go. When we lived in Rhode Island as a kid I used to have it. When I went to college in RI, we mixed it with Vodka … but I digress.
Generally it’s pretty hard to screw up soft serve, which is probably the bulk of their business. Today, I decided to order the adult stuff and was quite disapointed. The chocolate cone that I was presented with was full of crystalized pieces of ice cream which gave me the impression that it had gotten warm and then froze again. There are places in two miles (each direction on 28) that have awesome real ice cream.
If you’re 8 years old and looking for something called a Trash Can, this is your place. All others, continue your ice cream quest elsewhere.

Ice cream here is excellent. I find the price and portions are perfect and a lot better than the Sundae School. Be prepared to wait in line when you get there though, it gets busy after dinner in the summer but it’s worth the wait.
This place is also technologically savvy because they take all their orders on I-​Pads. They have an extensive menu and a lot of toppings. I do find it interesting that they use I-​Pads but don’t take credit cards.

It’s OK — but Ice Cream Smuggler isway, way, way better for ice cream and Candy Café Hyannis is better for selection of candy.
Will do in a pinch. (When you’ve gotta have sweet).
Huge menu. A bit overwhelming — and dizzying inside.

Krista K’s offers an extensive variety of ice cream, frozen yogurt and soft serve. In particular, their Milky Way Frozen Yogurt is maybe one of the best flavors that I’ve ever tried. EVER.
But, I do have one huge problem with this place. I recently went in with one of my good friends who has a serious peanut allergy. While most restaurants are able to accomodate this, Krista K’s has taken a different approach. When ordering, my friend very nicely told the server, «I have a peanut allergy so could you please make sure that none of that gets into my ice cream.» Her response? «WE CAN’T GUARANTEE ANYTHING.»
Apparently they are too lazy to wash their ice cream scoopers in clean water to avoid cross contamination. At this point, I think that most places are very sensitive to these now common allergies and have take then steps to prevent their patrons from having an allergic reaction. Other ice cream places that we have gone to seem to be able to do this so I’m not sure what Krista K’s is lacking. They need to get their act together.

going into this place gave me ADD. lists and lists of menu items in BRIGHT COLORS! 3 TV SCREENS flashing specials! Jars of overflowing delicious sweets! kids smearing ice cream on their faces! PINK!!! PINK!!PINK! it was all so much.
they’ve got everything– ice cream, fudge, fro yo, hot dogs, milkshakes, frappes, sundaes, i bet they’ll even do your taxes for you (if you ask nicely).
prices aren’t too expensive– $ 3 for a cone, $ 2.50 for a hot dog, etc. i got some frozen yogurt (only 8! love ‘em) and it was fine.
i just felt like i needed to go read some ‘War and Peace’ to equal out the over stimulation that went down in there.

A coupon book in our hotel room included one for a free ¼ lb. of fudge with any $ 10 purchase at Krista K’s. Now that’s a coupon! It was definitely worth a stop in. We picked up two boxes of saltwater taffy, which were $ 6 each and got ¼ lb. of Oreo fudge. The lady behind the counter let us try it first, and we didn’t need to try any others, even though all the flavors looked really good. I’m keeping this place in mind for our next visit to the Cape because there was a really cute soda-​jerk style counter and places to sit both inside and outside.
There’s a middle school next door, and I’m willing to bet this place is a great after-​school treat for a lot of those kids. Lucky.
