ECOMAIDS of Des Moines was established with the purpose of creating a family owned and operated business that excells at customer service, employee satisfaction and one that adds value to the community. ECOMAIDS of Des Moines takes great pride in the relationships that it has established with its customers and would welcome the opportunity to speak and discuss how they may be of service for you and your family.

Business Owner

Jeri started Ecomaids in 2008 with the thought of helping people, educating people, and establishing a sustainable business with Eco-​friendly concepts. She learned how to clean from her grandmother using tried and true «green» methods. She started to acquire clients and run the business from her own home.

Starting small and growing the business based solely on referrals and charitable donations has proven to aid Jeri in accomplishing her goal of giving back to the community and helping others.

EcoMaids is a member of Cleaning for a Reason, giving free cleanings to cancer patients undergoing treatment, they donate free cleanings to local non-​profit charity groups, and donate their time to helping children in the welfare system by donating food, and time.

Being «sustainable» means doing what you can as a business owner to help the community become healthy, physically, emotionally, ecologically, and monetarily.

The service started out promising but declined in quality. They rarely dusted. They never tidied or arranged objects to provide an aesthetically pleasing finishing touch. They did not clean thoroughly under furniture. They failed to vacuum an entire room on two occasions.

I used this service initially with a Groupon and was very pleased. I then called to set up reoccurring biweekly service. They started on 11⁄18 and have never returned. I was expecting them on 12/​2, but nobody showed up. I thought maybe they were behind due to the Thanksgiving holiday, but again. Nobody showed up on 12⁄9. I have attempted to reach them by phone an email and I cannot get a call or email returned. At this point I would really just like my house key returned.

I had high hopes for this cleaning service but was let down time and again — never knowing if I’d come home to a clean house or one where only certain things were done right. They never cleaned under anything — not under my bed, not under my claw foot tub nor under the couch. Some rooms would be okay one week and the next week I couldn’t tell if anything was done.
Aside from the inconsistency I had the biggest problem when it came to my dogs. After the owner let me know my dogs got in a fight one day I asked them to put the smaller dog in his crate when they arrived and let him out just as they were leaving — this worked fine for a month or so and then one day I come home to find my smaller dog had dried blood all over himself and his neck swollen. After going to the vet I asked the owner what happened — one reply said the cleaners didn’t say anything about a fight and another reply said the cleaners only put the dog in his crate while they cleaned the living room (not what we’d agreed to) and when they were leaving they noticed the dogs playing, which would’ve been the first time they’ve EVER played. While I understand the cleaners are not dog sitters the owner did promise to put the small dog in his crate while they were cleaning — if the owner didn’t want to be responsible for the dogs she shouldn’t have agreed to do so by crating him as we agreed.
I followed up with the owner later — after I told them not to come back — and despite her initial «concern» (an email — real professional… I guess her phone didn’t work that day) I never heard back from her.
No way I’d ever recommend this company — do yourself a favor and hire a professional or an individual so you know who will be coming to your house. With this company I never knew who was coming to clean, which is another story altogether.

We used Eco maids for a few months durning a busy spell in our lives to keep our house deep cleaned. They were courteous and timely, but the product delivered simply wasn’t what was promised.
They primarily focus on waist level surfaces and visible parts of the bathroom. Oddly, they would get hard to reach shelves, but completely forget to clean the floor. (It’s the floor for goodness sake!)
We were quick to notify them of things they missed and they were apologetic even offering a discount but the discount didn’t come. In addition, on their next visit after promising to make things right they missed the same stuff again — It was actually worse and they didn’t even touch the floor.
I called again and canceled service, in addition asking again for that discount. I’m not sure what more I can do as a consumer. I told them «mistakes happen» and gave them the opportunity to make things right, but they just couldn’t figure it out.
