History

Established in 2009.

Stowers & Sarcone, PLC was formed in 2014 when Nick Sarcone and Dean Stowers became law partners. Prior to Stowers & Sarcone, PLC, the law firm was known as the Stowers Law Firm. Stowers Law Firm was started by Dean Stowers in 2009. Prior to forming the Stowers Law Firm, Dean Stowers was a named partner in the firm of Rosenberg, Stowers & Morse. In 2010, Nick Sarcone joined the firm. Nick was previously employed in the Hillsborough County Public Defender’s Office in Tampa, Florida. Stowers & Sarcone, PLC is dedicated to helping our clients achieve the best possible outcomes through zealous, skillful and dedicated representation.

Business Owner

Dean was born in Madison, Wisconsin on March 5, 1964. Dean attended law school at Drake University. In 1989, Dean moved to Washington, D.C. and worked in the Office of General Counsel as a counselor to the United States Sentencing Commission, the agency that promulgates the Federal Sentencing Guidelines used in federal sentencing. In 1990 Dean returned to work in criminal defense at The Rosenberg Law Firm.

Dean has tried alone or participated in trying in dozens of criminal jury trials, including roughly half of those in federal court. Dean has secured not guilty verdicts in more than 70% of those trials, including one streak of four consecutive federal jury trial acquittals. Dean has tried some of the longest-​running and most complex criminal jury trials in the history of Iowa federal courts. Dean is a fighter who stands by his clients against some of the longest odds, including through appellate review.
