The Last Chair Bar & Grill

We came with a group of 8 adults and 8 teens on a Friday night. They sat us quickly, the service was great, the meal came out quickly and the menu had something tasty for every palate. The atmosphere is great too — different spaces, lots of wood and an arcade for kids that is far enough from the restaurant that it didn’t retract from our relaxation. We’d go there again!

Really good food from this place. Ordered the new England clam chowder and the ribs. The clam chowder was just okay I’ve had better. The ribs were delicious. A full rack with a lot of meat, good portion of fries and cornbread. Be prepared to wait a while if it’s the weekend but the food is worth it.

Brilliant concept, restaurant and bar and an old fashioned arcade for kids. If you don’t have kids this is not a place you should enter — it is bedlam.
The wait for a table is unreal — people in bread lines in war torn third world countries will eat sooner than you will.
And, after the insane wait, the food is the second biggest problem. While it comes out very quickly, it’s not that great. Imagine larger portions of the kind of food you are served sitting in coach on a domestic flight. This place would be less traumatic if the food was worth the wait.
On a positive note, the staff is great — they manage the craziness well. Hostesses are efficient and patient, bartender is quick, servers are personable and fast.
If you have kids, drop them off here and run up the road to the Hermitage Inn, have a nice peaceful dinner and go back and pick them up.

Recently visited after a day of skiing at Mount Snow. The food was very good, but the experience itself was a little odd. We walked in and were greeted by a woman behind a merchandise counter. She didn’t seem like a host and simply said hello, so we just headed to the bar area. After realizing all seats were taken, we found a small area right next to the bar that contained four or five tables, so we sat ourselves. It was at that time a waitress came over and asked if a host had sat us in this area. We said no and headed back to the front entrance. A host then escorted us all the way across the restaurant to the exact table we had chosen minutes earlier. During the meal the same thing happened to three other groups. One of the groups contained two young girls who looked exhausted, most likely from skiing all day, and had such a look of disappointment on their faces when they were forced to get up from their table. They walked across the restaurant to the front entrance, just as we did, all to be escorted all the way back again to the very table where they were just sitting. I actually give our waitress credit. We witnessed her approach a manager and suggest putting a sign on the tables notifying customers that they are not first come first serve. Unfortunately the manager barked back at her something along the lines of the customers should know better. Seating debacles aside, as I mentioned earlier, the food was very good. We got the nachos with chili on top, a large buffalo chicken pizza, and a cannoli. This proved to be more than three men could handle. The chili on the nachos contained sliced pieces of sausage. Very original and very good! The buffalo chicken was quite good but certainly contained a kick. At times our mouths were on fire. The cannoli was well enjoyed. I grew up going to this place when it was Deacon’s and Deegan’s Den. They have put plenty of time and effort into renovations. Certainly worth visiting, just make sure to request a table from the woman behind the merchandise counter when you arrive.

I came here after a day out on the slopes and looking to grab a beer. The first thing I noticed walking into the establishment was kids running around to the arcade from the restaurant side of the place. It is one of the few restaurants open near the Mt. Snow area that caters or families due to the fact that there is a small arcade in the establishment. Seating at the bar is limited and when we arrived we only had to wait 10 minutes before grabbing two bar stools. I noticed that to-​go pizza boxes were flying out of the kitchen so maybe that’s the thing to order when you come here. My friend told me about the giant pile of nachos that they’re infamously known for but we all just had dinner and was not hungry to eat. I will definitely try them out next time I’m in the Mt. Snow area. The vibe of the restaurant has a very tavern feel and the bar area is pretty narrow and cramped. I didn’t get a chance to peek over to the restaurant side of the place but it seemed quite busy for a Saturday night. The bartender was friendly, but sarcastic; it didn’t bother me much since sarcasm is a daily occurrence for me.

We came here during the holiday weekend with no reservations and only had to wait about ¹⁵⁄₂₀ mins for a table. We were a group of 6 and instead of killing time at the bar with a drink, everyone opted to go to the arcade and relive their childhood game favorites. The overall feel of the place is casual and ‘tavern-​like’ but welcoming nonetheless.
After we sat down, we did some clam chowder (simple and ok) and wings (regular and maple bbq — both of which were good as well) to start. For my main, I went with the bison spare ribs (melted off the bone and were flavored perfectly) which I enjoyed.
Overall, after a couple of drinks each with tax and tip, it came out to about $ 50/​person or so which I thought was fair. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our dining experience and I would recommend should you be looking to get out for dinner one night in town.

My girlfriend and I ate here on New Year’s day. We were quoted a 45 minute wait, and waited 55 minutes to be seated. Had a few beers at the bar, and shared a plate of wings. Once seated, we had fried rice coated shrimp, mussels, and a pair of burgers.
For the most part the food was delicious. Wings and shrimp were spot on. I have had better mussels. The burgers were amazing. Ordered a medium rare, came out more on the medium side, but the meet was clearly the star of the burger — which I appreciated. Would definitely recommend the kobe beef burger.
Atmosphere was great — The arcade area and the restaurant area is actually quite seperated. Before coming here, I was worried this place was more of an arcade and less of a restaurant, but I was mistaken. Upon entry, the arcade is on the right, and the restaurant is on the left. When you’re at the bar, or eating at the restaurant, you cannot see or hear the arcade portion at all. The feel of the place is cabinny if that makes any sense, and it was appreciated.
Only downside was the wait — I feel like this place could benefit from reservations. I can see why they don’t take any… When you’re quoted the wait time, you have a few options. you could either go to the place next door which has a different menu, but the same owners. Or you could wait at the bar. So, realistically, if you came here, you’re going to wait, and while you wait, you’ll probably be spending some money.

Unilocal said they were open… Google said they were open… Their sign our front said they were open… Yet the doors were locked, dark inside and no sign near the front door explaining… Was looking forward to trying this place but I could not due to them not being open… I would recommend going down the street to Valley View Saloon, first off they were open when they said they would be, great food, cold beer, great atmosphere and great service…

While a bit pricey, the food is pretty good — just do not try to make a change to anything on the menu. The place is not accommodating to a special diet, whether on a night with their usual 2.5 hour waits or when you are the only table eating in the whole place. The wait staff is usually spot on, but the chef is not interested in swapping grilled chicken for a burger meat on your house salad unless you pay full boat for two meals.
The arcade is okay. Limited game selection. You can trade your hard earned tickets in for cheap prizes

My husband and I enjoyed our meal very much. I had the filet mignon cooked well done with green beans and potatoes, which was amazing and he had a BBQ ribs with fried and sweet corn. Everything was cooked to perfection! Tonight we go again :)

Very good food! The prime rib is succulent and very tender. The ribs are well cooked — probably the best outside Texas and their crusted Ahi tuna was well prepared. Im a rare Unilocal reviewer although I depend a lot on Unilocal reviews but I wanted to give this establishment a big thumbs up! They totally deserve it:-))

Great après ski and pizza joint. Apps were good, pizza was good, service was good. Very affordable and a great time for our entire party. Get the shark appetizer and the build your own pizza. Forget those one star reviews about the service. Those people were probably just drunk and obnoxious!

I had an experience today. Now, I feel many would think that having an «experience» is a good thing, but my 2 hours at Last Chair tonight was from anything positive. Let’s start with the service: Our waitress was unable to connect with our table and even went to the extent of deeming our table «rambunctious» after we each consumed 2 beers. Listen, she may be young, but if she’s intimidated by polite guys asking for a beer refill, then maybe the restaurant should reconsider their hiring practices, I.e. Hiring 15 year old high schoolers. We pay 90 dollars for a lift ticket… we’re not ok with being scolded by someone who has yet to pay her own rent/​work a legitimate job. I’ll leave it at that: Last Chair is a place to avoid!

Chelsea blew it. I was having a great night then our waitress, Chelsea, completely blew it. Our food sucked and the service was awful. The manager is a criminal. This place will be shut down soon. p. s. This place sucks just in case you didn’t notice

Chelsea blew it. Most unprofessional service I’ve ever experienced. Was having lots of good laughs about the ski day and went to order my second beer of the night when our server, Chelsea, said she was going to have her manager come talk to us… 10 minutes later, she comes back (with no beer and no manager) and asks if we want anything else. umm well a beer (or your manager) would have been nice. With no explanation from Chelsea as to why I hadn’t received my beer, the check was all I wanted.
I found it hard to believe that the apres ski at mount snow was this lame and the fact that our food was very OVERPRICED and downright GROSS (the fries are the equivalent of cardboard) puts this on my list of places to avoid when up this far north.
I didn’t realize having a good time with friends was a crime and the way Chelsea handled the situation was undeniably pathetic. She clearly has no idea what she is doing and I can only assume that lack of competence runs all the way through the management of the restaurant. Last Chair should be the Last Place you ever go; I know they will never receive my business again and I will suggest to my many friends who frequent the area to avoid this disgrace of an apres ski spot at all costs. Did I mention that I had a better burger and fries at McDonalds? The burger was overcooked and the fries stale. It left me wishing I had just ordered the gross base lodge food which is actually cheaper and more satisfying.

Ate here with 3 other friends and the wait was at least an hour and a half for a Friday night, post Christmas weekend. We sat at the bar and were constantly being bumped into. Fortunately everyone was in good spirits and the time went by quickly. I decided to have the spinach and goat cheese salad while my friends ordered their meaty dishes. We ordered the nachos grandes as our appetizer. Our food came out promptly. My salad was large and lots of greens, but the balsamic dressing was too tart. Everyone else seemed to be enjoying their meal, but dessert made up for it. They make most of their desserts in house except for a few of them, one being the peanut butter pie which I just had to try. It was pretty fantastic. Our server was great too.
This is a great family friendly group friendly place to eat, but I would make a reservation and/​or be prepared to wait. And order pizza. You can’t go wrong with pizza.

Every time I try to order take out, they say they are too busy and will only offer pizza. Stay away for takeout.

I liked The Last Chair even if my party of six got quoted a 2.5 hour wait on a Friday night. Yes, a 2.5 hour wait on a Friday night. Say what? So pro-​tip: on a holiday weekend — either come early or come at 9pm to avoid said wait.
I also feel like every family in a 25 mile radius heads over here because they have an attached arcade… yep! Not the best, but feasible for a 10 year old.
My posse found a part of the bar after an hour and we ordered up drinks and some apps before heading forth to dinner. The boneless buffalo wings were on point and so were the vegetable samosas. The bartender was fast and friendly serving up from their great craft beer list and extensive wine list.
When our party of six was finally called, the place cleared out. The entrée’s were all pretty awesome and I love the option to make any of the sandwiches gluten free — mainly just remove all buns. My steak tip sandwich gluten free was overcooked and a tad bit too much cheese (I know right, who says that?), so I wouldn’t recommend, but the salads, the reuben, the beef stew all looked pretty good to me.
Service was great, ambiance is wonderful and food is solid making this a great family friendly dining option while skiing at Mt. Snow.

I think three stars is even a bit generous. I can understand the draw of this place if you have children, you can relax after a day of hitting the slopes and send them off to the game room, but if kids aren’t an issue I wouldn’t come here.
The inside reminded me of an old TGIFridays. The food was mediocre and over priced. We started with a round of the Thai chili wings and they were mostly flavorless. The sauce tasted more like watery garlic sauce. For the entrée, he went with a chicken Caesar salad and I went with the Cajun rubbed Atlantic Salmon. His Caesar was good but DRENCHED in dressing almost to the point of becoming soggy. My Salmon was cooked well but had absolutely zero flavor. Ummm last time I checked Cajun is one of the most flavorful rubs you can do? Mine also came with a side of (Al dente) green beans and white rice (yuck! Subbed for a side salad).
At the end of our meal we were advised that the credit card machine was down and it would take just a bit. 10 – 15 minutes passed and our server was nowhere to be found. When she finally returned, there was no apology.
Finally, this place does not serve food past around 8:30−9 on weekends, so cut your ski nap short!

I despise Mount Snow a little bit– but I will happily plunk down an exorbitant sum to ski this mediocre resort frequented by New York’s assholiest (myself included) just to reprise my meal at The Last Chair.
If there is a wait of half an hour… happily wait. Wait twice that long with a smile on if you have to. So what if your wife is in labor and you are on the way to the hospital– stop in for the sweet, smoky, fall-​off-​the-​bone ribs. They are so perfect the pig is proud to have been unceremoniously clubbed in the face and carved apart so you can mash them into your fat mouth.
If you only have one hour to live, the mountainous nachos smothered in homemade beef and sausage chili (with one of about twelve regional craft beers) should immediately rise to number one on your bucket list. You were never going to score with Jennifer Lawrence or learn German or ride a bull anyway. Don’t even pretend you were going to read Tolstoy’s War and Peace. Experiencing these nachos is far more fulfilling than helping the less fortunate, bungee jumping or telling your wife you love her one last time. Likewise, the pizza topped with your choice of creative and fresh offerings is worth a skip on, say, hugging your kids or finishing writing the great American novel.
In short, you must try this restaurant. I have never said that before on Unilocal and I probably won’t say it again until one of you savvy business owners out there contacts me directly with a cash money bribe to review your mouse-​ridden deli.
