History
Established in 1962.
Our Conference Center is an executive retreat that provides a refreshing setting for concentration and creative thinking. W. Alton Jones, a former president of Cities Service, parent company of the CITGO gasoline stations, and an outdoors enthusiast, once owned the 2,300 acre site and used it as a private hunting and fishing retreat. Mr. Jones hosted meetings at the site with such dignitaries as President Eisenhower and the King of Nepal.
Today the our Conference Center is part of the W. Alton Jones campus of the University of Rhode Island. It is a quiet, secluded West Greenwich, Rhode Island location that ensures your meeting participants can think, work, and cooperate in a distraction-free environment that is conducive to helping you achieve your meeting goals.
