Whispering Pines Conference Center

We were fortunate enough to find this place and we immediate chose it as our wedding venue. I have since been told that we had the best wedding ever. It was definitely because of the amazing staff, relaxed atmosphere and BEAUTIFUL environment that the URI team, Bill, Erin and George (and of course mother nature) have created. If you’re looking for a black tie wedding at a 5 star hotel, this isn’t quite that. However, if you want to have fun, have everything taken care of and relax and enjoy time with your family and friends — Whispering Pines couldn’t be a better spot. The food is FABULOUS (thanks Bill). The arrangements are perfectly organized (thanks George and Erin) and the staff is all super nice and goes the extra mile (we gave them a standing ovation at breakfast on Sunday).
We had an events/​field day on Saturday before the wedding and it was soooo much fun. We played kickball, had a hula hoop contest and pingping and pool tournaments FRiday night. It was so much fun to be able to relax and enjoy time with my whole family and most of my friends who were all able to stay on site in the 32 rooms. It was a bit of a squish for my 125 person wedding, but we made it work (not everyone stayed on site). We also did star gazing on Friday night which was AWESOME and I’d highly recommend. The guy that leads it is so knowledge and passionate and the equipment is amazing!
There is somewhat of a relaxed feel and it’s not super fancy, but as long as you are comfortable with that it’s the PERFECT PLACE TO GET MARRIED.

What can we say Erin, George, and Bill — everything was PERFECT! What an amazing team at the Whispering Pines Conference Center. We cannot thank you all enough. From the first moment of planning until the clean up on Sunday, every staff person was attentive, insightful and courteous.
You listened with care to the bride, groom and parents. You understood our shared vision and delivered the weekend impeccably. And that isn’t easy with a demanding Jewish mother, a southern dad with slow to warm preferences, and busy high powered professional bride and groom with demanding jobs in New York City!
Here are just some of the things we appreciated about our experience with you: all our questions were answered in a timely fashion (even tiny details like how tall is the awning on the deck in case we have to put the chuppa there), the play fields were in excellent condition even after a miserable winter, the star gazing at observatory was inspiring, the food was consistently delicious and presented beautifully (delighting even the hard to please cousins from NYC), rooms throughout the site were clean and inviting, all amenities provided and beautiful views from all of rooms, service was outstanding at every moment and, of course, you even did a great job on the weather.
You all think of every detail and guided us with gentle awareness whenever we were floundering or headed in the wrong direction. You all were flexible and understanding and just fun to work with. Erin, you were amazing at your meticulous attention to detail in planning and George you were a reassuring and helpfully guiding voice even in the most intense moments of the weekend. Bill, loved your humor and inspiration with the food, making every guest feel nurtured and grateful for the experience. Facility was in impeccable condition and everything that was promised was delivered and more — right down to the smore ingredients and fire started just as promised — even after a rainy day preceding the wedding.
You all are amazing. Thank you from the bottom of this mother of the bride’s heart.

I recently held my wedding at Whispering Pines, and I can not say enough about how fabulous everything was. The food, the service, the personal attention. Erin and Bill were wonderful to work with and always very responsive. The atmosphere was great and the beautiful weather (although of anyones control) added to the wonderful day. Planning and executing a successful event is not an easy task, it is very stressful. Everyone at Whispering Pines did an amazing job at making sure my day went off without a snag to be thought of. Even the housekeeping ladies were so friendly and helpful to me and my husband.
Bravo to everyone and thank you so much for everything you did to make our day special!

Whispering Pines is the MOST beautiful wedding venue we saw and we knew immediately that we wanted to have our wedding there.
We did not know when we signed our contract that not only is it beautiful, but the people there are the most kind, flexible, and sweet people you will ever work with!
Erin who handles the planning aspects of the weddings, answered every single one of our questions thoroughly and promptly! And Bill who handles the food worked with our particular situation with amazing grace (we brought in Kosher meals for some of our guests). Working with Erin and Bill was wonderful. Because they do a lot of different kinds of events including tons of weddings, they are very professional and easy to talk to. They work to find solutions to every concern and made sure that everything we wanted happened on the day of the wedding.
You really do have to go visit this place to understand the beauty. We received so many compliments on the location. You drive about 5 miles through the woods to reach the venue. The ceremony took place outside next to a lake with cocktails and dancing on a huge deck overlooking the water. The place has a «camp» feel except the rooms are really nice and it operates like a full hotel. The food is AMAZING, the service is impeccable, and the experience was magical (we had so many guests use that word to describe their experience). At the end of the night they made us a campfire by the lake where half our wedding guests ended up, signing songs, roasting marshmallows, and hanging out late into the night. There was brunch the next morning provided for everyone staying on site.
I feel so lucky to have had my wedding at Whispering Pines– it was an unforgettable location and experience!

We attended a wedding at Whispering Pines this past weekend and it was awesome! The weather did not fully cooperate with the couples plan of an outdoor wedding so instead it was held on a deck over looking the pond, it was very surreal and peaceful. The whispering pine staff was very friendly and on top of everything, they did an amazing job taking care of the wedding party and all of the guests. The food was some of the best I have ever eaten at a wedding; appetizers included grilled pizzas, scallop wrapped bacon, coconut shrimp, mini ribs, and a plethora of tasty cheeses and fruits. The dinner was buffet which included steaks, flounder stuffed with shrimp, lobster, and scallops, pasta, grilled vegetables, fresh breads, etc… They topped it off with a variety of fresh desserts which included amazing chocolate covered cherries and lemon cake to name a few.
Whispering Pines is a perfect location for a wedding, family reunion, party, etc.

I just had my wedding here last month and I have to say hands down a wonderful facility! Originally being from NY, I was skeptical about the quality of food here. I looked at tons of reviews and references for this place prior to choosing them as our venue.
Atmosphere: Absolutely gorgeous! If you love nature and the woods this is place for you. It is nestled in a preserve right on a lake. It was very relaxing having everyone staying on the grounds. It’s the perfect place for a weekend wedding.
Service: White glove service! Everyone who works there was extremely helpful and friendly. They pride themselves on giving the best service and they do. I didn’t have to worry about a thing the day of the wedding. My wedding coordinator, Erin, was fantastic. I even had guests comment on how wonderful the staff was.
Food: Again wonderful! I has worried since they do not do entrée tastings only cocktail hour tastings. The rehearsal dinner and wedding day was amazing. The fish was perfect not fishy at all. The filet mignon was tender and juicy not over cooked. They went above and beyond with their cocktail hour and dessert service.
Overall, I would highly recommend any bride looking to get married in the woods. You really can’t beat the service and food for the price.

I attended a weekend wedding here the last week of June. It had to be the best wedding I have been to in a long time. The venue, the Whispering Pines Conference Center is absolutely beautiful. The drive in off victory Highway, is almost two miles of wooded beauty, the center itself consists of wonderful spacious lodges with around 32 rooms available for over night guests. The rooms are nicely appointed, spacious and spotless. Large bathroom with sink and mirror outside the bathroom area, flat screen tv, comfy chairs and lovely views. Coffee and juice bar available ²⁴⁄₇ in downstairs hallway. Staff was friendly and helpfull. The wedding party enjoyed a rehersal and rehersal dinner on Friday nite. Saturday, guests started arriving early and proceeded to enjoy the area, some playing baseball, others fishing out on the lake in the canoes, most of us just sunning and enjoying the lunch that was provided, fruit, vegtables and assored wrap sandwiches and drinks. The wedding ceremony was held outdoors in a lovely arranged area, with the lake in the background. A cocktail hour on the covered deck was delightfull. Dinner in the Whispering Pines Lodge, where the Bridal Suite was located was wonderful. The tables were lovely, the food was buffett style, Filet Mignon and stuffed fish, loads of roasted vegtables. The dining room staff was very attentive, the food plentiful and delicous. When all the festivities, dancing, cake cutting etc was done, staff lit a bonfire in a lovely area surrounded by chairs near the lake, a large group of guests sat there for waaaaay too many hours, solving the worlds problems. If you are a Rhode Island bride looking for something different and elegant this is the place for you, the bill was very reasonable, according to my brother, the payee!
Setting, service, quality and quanity of everything was top drawer.
Great place for any kind of get together, business meeting, family reunion, you name it they can accomadate you here in this beautiful peacefull setting in the middle of Rhode Island.
