Specialties
Adamah CSA members receive a fresh mix of organic vegetables from June to November. Sign up for an every-week or every-other-week share to get your share of the harvest. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shortens the distance from farm to table, benefiting the health of our bodies, our wallets and the earth. With a secure market for their harvest, CSA farmers get to focus on growing great food and caring for the land.
History
Established in 2011.
The Adamah fellowship, a three month program that provides young people with an opportunity to experience agriculture, farm-to-table living, and community, has been up and running at the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center since 2004. In 2011 we connected with a group of local agriculture enthusiasts in West Hartford who helped us develop. They formed «Jewish Local Greens» with membership from a diverse group of synagogue congregations and beyond in West Hartford. We are now calling the CSA «Adamah CSA in West Hartford» in order to clarify that individuals of any or no faith comprise our membership. We are excited to have been in West Hartford for four seasons as we now have a great connection to the community as well as a good handle on the vegetables and pickup logistics that work best for local families.
