He not only teaches guitar, but piano, drums and vocals as well. I loved the fact that he incorporates the vocals into his instrument lessons, which is a huge plus. Awesome music teacher and person. Very accommodating to busy schedules with great flexibility. Very patient and great with positive reinforcement. I have two children who wanted to play different instruments and Dennis was able to teach both! I have a boy and a girl. Denny had absolutely no problem appealing to both. I enjoyed watching so much I ended up taking lessons as well! Not heavy on theory (which can be boring for some kids) and gets you playing songs fairly quickly (which is what kids want). Now we can «family jam» and have soo much fun with it. Thanks Denny!

Finally!!! We hit the trifecta with Denny… he teaches our boys PIANO, VOCALS, and makes it FUN! Previous piano instructors have not figured out how to evoke the joy factor, but Denny is a natural. For the first time, I don’t have to insist they practice… they do so on their own because they want to! His approach to music is infectious for them. His love of music comes through in his teaching, and he’s quite a skilled musician. He has found a way to show them the distinction between just technically hitting the correct notes… and feeling them in order to make it a true music experience. HIGHLY recommend him.

Lessons with Denny Gerard started with my daughter on guitar. After her second lesson my son asked if he could start lessons and soon after my oldest daughter has started drum lessons. After seeing our kids progress and enjoyment, 2 family friends have also started lessons with Denny and love it as much as we do.
Learning to play the guitar with Denny has been a fabulous experience. Right from the beginning, the kids learned songs which motivated them to practice and want to learn more. The fundamentals are incorporated into the music painlessly — an approach I wish some of their academic teachers could master.
The recitals are low key, low pressure and so enjoyable. My daughter who swore she was never going to sing or play in front of anyone has played in every recital and loves it.
Since having lessons with Denny, we often hear the kids playing for their own enjoyment; that has never happened before. I couldn’t be happier.

Denny is really the best. My daughter has been taking guitar lessons with him almost a year now, and her progress has been amazing. He gets the students playing right away and he is really good at handling their inevitable frustrations if they can’t get a song/​chord right. He offers very honest, constructive criticism and always encourages them to practice hard and do their personal best.
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Dennis and his band play live and I can say, in addition to being a gifted teacher, he’s a brilliant musician as well. If you or your kids want to start learning to sing and play guitar, I can’t imagine anyone better than Dennis.

I do not give many 5’s but if I could I would give him a 10. He teaches our kids and does a great job. He is great with the kids and has instilled in them a love for the guitar and well as singing. They cant wait till their next lesson and is patent and really cares about each of them. I would highly recommend him. I cant think of a better teacher for the guitar

I originally met Denny as a musician, guitar player & singer, when I heard a few years ago that he had decided to take on students we were excited. We take care of our cousin & he was 11 at the time & did ok, but not great with his starting lessons with a local guitar store. At the time he wanted to learn to sing AND play guitar and we were lucky to get Denny, who came to the house & got him up & singing & playing at very fast speed.
It seems most guitar teachers teach the ‘fundamentals’, reading, etc. but our cousin wanted to get up & make music as soon as he could. This was Denny’s specialty. It’s been two years & he’s doing great, probably not going to be a rock star but I think he’ll be playing guitar for a long time thanks to Denny’s teaching.
He’s professional, personable & reasonable. I’d highly recommend him!
