Radha Carman began her training in Indian classical dance from a young age. She graduated from UCLA with a major in World Arts and Cultures. After spending many years perfecting her training in Indian dance and theater, Radha performed these traditional arts in many parts of India, and later throughout the United States. She choreographed many theatrical performance projects, combining classical dance with martial arts, as in Ballads of Northern Malabar, and Maya, A Tale of Love and Sorcery, as well as incorporating an operatic style as in the work, The Story of Nala and Damayanti.
Radha has worked in schools and colleges, giving workshops, classes and performances for over 25 years. She has received numerous grants from the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department to promote these arts in the community.
