Both Dr’s Mcfadden and Pinar are Fantastic

I like that this office is open later in the evenings on certain days of the week. It allows me to go to my dental visit without having to take off of work. The staff is SUPER SUPER friendly and Dr. Pinar is AWESOME! You really dont have to wait long before being seen. I have another upcoming visit in 2 weeks. Ill make and update if anything changes… but I doubt it will!

I’m someone who hadn’t been to the dentist in several years, finally went. There were no negative comments nor guilt-​trips for having taken such a long lapse… he just went to work, told me what I needed to know, and left me feeling great about the the decision to come in and be seen. Dr. Pinar and his staff were professional and courteous, have decent pricing/​payment options, and I’m happy with the work. Highly recommend.

I hadn’t been to the dentist in over five years and had been dreading my appointment and the likely scolding I’d hear. I’m always skeptical of dentists, especially in LA, because I’ve been pressured into spending way more than is actually necessary. OMG — I haven’t been this pleasantly surprised in a long time! Dr. Pinar is personable, professional, and didn’t try to push a single procedure outside of the normal exam and cleaning. The location is easy (parking is validated!), the front office staff are lovely, and I am now actually looking forward to going to get my teeth cleaned again in December. Can’t recommend this guy enough!

Highly recommended! I came here needing my chipped tooth fixed. Dr. McFadden took his time and exceeded my expectations with the results. Staff was very friendly also! Will definitely be back. :)

I’ve had an exam, x-​ray and cleaning done here. Both Dan and the rest of the staff were great, humorous and seem to enjoy working there. I had basic dental coverage, and because of some small print that made an exam and an x-​ray within 6 months of each other to not be covered by insurance (a very unhelpful Assurant plan that I have since canceled), a quick call to Dan’s office was all that was needed to get them to reduce the cost significantly, in the hopes that I would remain their customer. It worked, and I’ll continue going there for all of my dental needs. Thanks!

For the past four years I have been going to a dentist whom is dishonest. The woman’s goal is to maximize each client’s insurance policy making sure there is not a nickel remaining 6 months into the year. I have yet to write a review for her. However, I will soon and it will raise a few eyebrows.
The good news is I found a wonderful dentist last week. I was searching around on Unilocal and Dan Pinar’s reviews appeared. I am always suspicious of perfect 5 star reviews. Hence I read every one of his reviews in detail. Yet I was still suspicious as I have gone through 4 dentists since moving to Los Angeles in 2004. While living in New York I had the same dentist for 25 years with no issues.
I called Dr. Pinar’s office and the woman whom took my call was a total sweetheart. She had a great attitude and told me that Dr. Pinar could see me that day. So far great.
I went to see Dr. Pinar and it was one of the most relaxing stress free dental visits of my life. I felt like I was back in Brooklyn with my old dentist whom I think the world of.
Dr. Pinar looked at my teeth, collected X-​rays from my last dentist (after I called and raised my voice at the old dentist) and scheduled me for a cleaning a few days later.
Today Dr. Pinar himself cleaned my teeth. He will do 1 cavity for me tomorrow and then I am done. My last dentist wanted to do 2 crowns, 5 cavities and a deep cleaning. After insurance this would have set me back about $ 1200. Dr. Pinar is honest and told me all that I need is one cavity and a routine cleaning. Wow — to think that someone could do unnecessary work in my mouth and get away with it is terrible. So nice to have a totally honest dentist look at my mouth.
If you want a great dentist then call Dr. Pinar’s office. This was a 5 star dental experience which is tough to find in Los Angeles.
I also learned that Unilocal really works. Without Unilocal I would have never found Dr. Pinar. I guess Unilocal gets 5 stars as well!

Dan Pinar has given me my ability to enjoy food back! After going to another dentist who advised me I needed root canal, I visited Dan for a second opinion. He was able to see a crack in the tooth that the previous dentist had missed (preventing me from eating on one side of my mouth for for 6 months) and fixed the problem without root canal. Dan rocks!

Have been coming to this office since 2006 at least. Love the office, staff and both dentists. I have had checkups with both Dr McFadden and Dr Pinar. They are both awesome. Always get excellent service and the front office staff is always easy to work with. Highly recommend this office.

If there was a sixth star, he would have it. Dan Pinar and his staff are the best! I came from a bad situation, with another dentist, and he turned my frown upside down. He is meticulous, almost like an artist. I never feel an ounce of pain. He is patient and loving. He even came in on a Saturday when I was having an issue. Not only is he the best dentist in the world, he’s an amazing person. Down to earth, great sense of humor. You feel like he is a friend… that happens to be hovering over you, drilling into your face. Ha. But, you know what I mean. He is the best! And when I was Unilocaling, I found these reviews and that’s what made me go to see him. So if you need a new dentist, this is your guy!

Dr. Pinar has been my dentist for about 3 years now. When I moved to California years ago I did float around to a few dentist for cleanings but there have been two emergency situations where Dr. Pinar has worked me in– once on a Sunday when I was in excruciating pain. Most recently he came in early to work me into his schedule after a bad situation happened with my front teeth.
It’s this kind of concern for his patience that makes him such a great dentist. I also like that he isn’t stingy with numbing if needed which is much appreciated. If you feel any pain just let him know and he’ll make sure that you are comfortable so he can do his work. I’ve never dreaded a single visit.
The hygienist at his office are always great (I am torn between two different one’s I’ve seen). His front desk staff is always so pleasant and welcoming. Another thing that I like is that it seems his front desk staff always knows everyone’s names when they come in. I never see them looking up names when they greet people.
I highly recommend Dr. Pinar for your dentistry work.

I went to Dr. Pinar’s for an exam, x-​rays and a cleaning. I cannot recommend Dr. Pinar and his amazing staff highly enough. Hector, at reception, spent over an hour working with my insurance to figure out my coverage. Mario, the dental assistant, was fantastic.
The office, the exam room and the equipment were incredibly clean — so important!
I found my dentist and have told all my friends!

Dr. Pinar is simply the best. He is professional, affable, knowledgeable, caring, and the list goes on and on. He also has a great sense of humor and does not take himself too seriously. Plus and plus.
Most importantly (to me at least), is that he is not a salesman. After an initial exam and cleaning, he wanted me to come in for a free consultation re Invasalign. He showed me how my front teeth were geting chipped, and showed me comparables taken over time, so that I could better perceive the gravity of the situation. He explained my options to me, laying out the optimal preventative plan, discussed fees, and reiterated that I still had some time to sort all of this out. He answered each and every question I had, without rushing me, and even offered to make a «trainer» set for me since I’ve had some prior issues with night guards and the such.
I never thought a dentist visit could be pleasant, but my experiences with Dr. Pinar have been nothing but. I leave feeling taken care of, which (unfortunately) is a rarity in the medical/​dental industry nowadays. Staff is really friendly as well.

I honestly hate going to the dentist since I have sensitive teeth. It had been over a year and I finally decided it’s time for a check up and I found Dr. Dan. It was the most easy going cleaning/​check up I think I’ve ever had.

I think this may be the nicest dentist and dental office I have every been too. Everyone is so professional, polite and friendly.
I moved to near the area and decided to try Dan out. I am pleasantly happy with his service. He listened and didn’t make me feel terrible if he saw something wrong with my teeth.
His Hygenist is also very friendly and helpful. I would recommend him to anyone! GO see DAN!

Dr. Pinar is my first dentist in LA and I must say I had a pleasant experience today! My teeth feel so clean! His staff was nothing short of friendly and professional. I had a full set of x rays and teeth cleaning. I was in and out under an hour. I’m so happy to have found great dental care in LA! Makes me feel at home.

I have always been lucky with my teeth being in good condition while growing up and a big part of this was due to the preventive care provided by my childhood dentist. Moving to Los Angeles and having to find a new dentist caused me some distress as I had to first visit two subpar dental offices before I was able to meet Dr. Pinar through using Unilocal.I was weary of using Unilocal to find a doctor, but my friend’s and co-worker’s recommendations were clearly not working out. Thank you Unilocalers… your reviews were spot on for Dr. Pinar. I could not be more satisfied with the care, concern and professionalism of Dr. Pinar’s office. Dr. Pinar was honest, gentle and conservative in his approach and this allowed an openess to our conversation that I was accustomed to.
Last, but not least it was noted how accomodating, friendly and responsive the office staff was to all my insurance and scheduling needs.

A dumb stupid ridiculous and retarded dining mishap that occurred over the weekend resulted in a dental quasi-​emergency requiring semi-​immediate address. My regular dentist (who I have been on the fence about for quite some time) is out of town this week, so I figured it was as a good time as any to embark on new dental care frontiers. My (quite particular) friend is a regular patient of Dr Dan Pinar and has consistently spoken quite highly of him and his practice… so I called up and made an appointment.
Being a new patient, I was grateful that they could fit me in this week because my tooth was quite sore. A special thank you for that.
Dr Pinar and staff couldn’t have been any more pleasant or more professional. The numbing injection he administered gave me minimum discomfort and his chair side manner is informative yet soothing. And as an aside, he is plenty cute (a value added bonus). All the hygienists and support staff were just as cordial as could be. The office is in a lovely building on Melrose and LaCienega with underground parking that they validate. How nice!
Most importantly of all, the quality of my tooth repair seems quite good. I can once again chew on the left side of my mouth. Hallelujah!!!

Dan Pinar is a trustworthy dentist. I was referred to him by my chiropractor and I am so happy I took his advice.
To make long story short, I just moved to LA and needed to find a new dentist. I had no idea who to go to so I randomly chose a female dentist from my insurance. What a mistake! This new dentist said I had cavities on all of my teeth and said it would cost thousands of dollars to fix. I thought this was extremely odd b/​c all of my previous dentists said I had great teeth and took care of them well.
I followed my gut reaction and told myself I needed to find a new dentist. Something didn’t seem right, I felt like I was being scammed. I was explaining my dilemma to my chiropractor and he said, I have a great dentist you should check out to get a second opinion, Dan Pinar. So I set up an appointment.
During my visit Dan displayed himself in a professional manner and had a pleasant personality. I explained to him that a previous dentist said I had many cavities and she wanted me to spend thousands of dollars on repairing my teeth. Dan listened to my concerns, examined my teeth and also reviewed my xrays and said my teeth were in great shape and I did NOT have cavities NOR did I need work done on my teeth. He said everything looks great and see you in six months. I trusted his opinion and got a great cleaning. I highly recommend Dan if you want a respectable dentist who will not try to up sell you to make more money.
