Oh no, did they close? I always found this to be a wonderful spot for a DVF flagship in Los Angeles.
Of course, they’d probably fit in right on Rodeo or surrounding streets, but I kind of liked having an excuse to head to Melrose for a Diane-​fix (or in my case, window-​shopping).
I guess since Santa Monica Place, The Grove, and Glendale’s Americana have a shop, it doesn’t matter anymore, but it’s sad since I attended a great party here back in 2007 (I think) not too long after they had opened. This was a beautiful store that carried plenty of her merchandise including shoes, handbags and accessories.
Surprised-​and sad-​they aren’t here anymore. Hopefully, I’m wrong, but it appears the windows are covered up and the signage is nowhere to be found. Please post if you know something different–

Two Words: Wrap Me
Ah, this place made me Unilocal,again! I just have to praise exceptional service. I love DVF because I believe their clothing is timeless. Immediately, the bright orange and cream wrap dress stood out to me. I normally wear neutral colors, but I had to try it on. The SA waltzed me into the dressing room and offered me Evian water. I was quite impressed by her service. I wish I asked her for her name because she was super cute and friendly. DVF is not for «older ladies,» but for all women who want to have a classic, elegant look for an extravagant night out. They have sexy rompers to their collection (a must-​have for the younger crowd). Stop by for a dose of DVF.

Lovely things but a terrible return policy (store credit only). Don’t think I’d ever buy here again when so many retailers selling DVF clothing let you return for an actual refund.

Diane Von Furstenberg and her wrap dresses are divine. I have purchased four wrap dresses from this particular store and every time I get near this store I have to control myself.
There is nothing like a DVF wrap dress. Nothing.
Nothing fits the same. It’s like the dress just melts onto your body and makes every single shape of a woman shine like a diamond.

I can’t live without my DVF collection!

I’m a huge DVF fan; the fit of her clothing is impeccable (regardless of if you’re a size 0 or a size 14) and her designs are fun and timeless. Unfortunately for me DVF doesn’t have a store in San Francisco so I have to rely on whatever is available at department stores.
I was thrilled to visit the Melrose store and had a truly amazing experience. I came in witht the intention of buying something, but was not sure exactly what I wanted to purchase. The store has a great layout which makes for a great shopping experience. Lots of racks full of gorgeous clothing and lovely shoes and handbags. The girls working there were very sweet and brought me a bottle of water while I browsed. I found several dresses I was in love with and they grabbed my size and put them in a dressing room for me. I was surprised to discover a wrap dress I’d had my eye on for some time that had a limited edition print and lucky for me they had one in my size!
The girls working gave great feedback which was helpful because I’m very indecisive. Ultimately I settled on the wrap dress because of its timeless shape and the amazing lip print because I knew there was a large chance that this specific print will not be reproduced.
Making the purchase was easy and to my surprise I was informed that DVF sends customers a $ 50 giftcard for their birthday (and it doesn’t expire) after you’re info is entered into the system!
I can’t wait to stop by the store again the next time i’m in town. Hopefully they open a Northern California location soon!

Great service, flattering dressing rooms, and it goes without saying beautiful clothes. They dont always get everything that the NYC store does, but they will be more than happy to track something down for you. The women who work here have a great memory, and remember you, and your style. Aces.

Not trying to be harsh, but I wasn’t impressed by this store. And I’m a HUGE Diane fan. You can find quite a few DVF pieces in my closet, but I always seem to buy them at other department stores and boutiques…
I was on Melrose the other day meeting a friend for lunch, and was excited to stop in to the DVF store — plus I’ve been needing a new holiday dress anyway. But unfortunately the place felt very sterile and cold. Of course the clothing was fabulous; but I felt like the sales staff were just standing there staring at me the whole time and it made me feel super awkward. Perhaps they were admiring my fabulous boots or handbag? Or perhaps, by walking in the store I had just interrupted their random conversation and they were silently willing me to leave. *shrug*
Either way, the experience was so blah that I’ll definitely stick to buying my Diane at Bloomies.

Dropped by the DVF mothership right before closing time to find a fun piece to wear to an art exhibition (mine). I’d walked in frazzled and looking like one hot mess, but the gals in the shop (there were three), kindly serviced me anyway. I told them about the event I was trying to dress for, and they immediately pulled a bunch of options — all of which I loved. *sigh of relief* I’m going to have something nice to wear to my event! These ladies also know the difference a good heel makes. They brought me a pair of bad-​ass platform shoes. *drool* I’m still thinking about them.
Needless to say, I left the store triumphant. Rather than mindlessly rolling my dress up in tissue paper and plopping it into a shopping bag as most shops do, Erin (one of the sales chicas) kindly hung my new «investment» onto hanger and then covered it up with a DVF garment bag.
Such wonderful service. Such beautiful clothes. Sold!

Located around the corner from the main Marc Jacobs store, the window displays are eye-​catching. Silky sheen of the dresses in bright colors like fuchsia and turquoise with bold leopard prints and zebra stripes. Perfect for really making an entrance if that’s what you want to do, stand out in a glam rock type of way. Love the bright colors but it could a bit over zealous for some. I wouldn’t want to look at one of these dresses with a hangover. Pretty store, located on the north side of Melrose Avenue, right across the street from Marc by Marc Jacobs. Meter parking easy to find on a week day.

I only went to this store once… i was looking for a dress for a very special occasion and after spending a whole day at saks, barneys and in various stores on robertson not finding anything i liked i finally went to DVF on melrose! and I found sooo many dresses I loved !!! the women who work there were very helpful — they gave me a pair of high heels to wear while trying on the dresses. when i was paying for a gorgeous red wrap dress the saleswoman put me on their mailing list and she has been emailing me with photos of new dresses they get at the store. and she even sent me a thank you note after my purchase!

Fabulous Fashion! A beautiful store with great energy, color, and design. Of course you will want everything! A very hard place for one to control their desires.

Personally, I’m not a fan of Diane von Furstenberg. But for all women out there, DVF’s wrap dresses are the solution to all those days you wake up, look in your bulging closet and still don’t know what to wear. This store is very beautiful, you don’t realize you’re in the middle of West Hollywood. It is brightly lit and the salespeople are dressed properly in DVF.
The thing with DVF’s designs are that they are ultra-​flattering and EASY for all females, and her clothing isn’t that expensive. Unless you are in the design industry like me… then maybe you won’t be willing to pay $ 300 for an unlined dress… but I digress…
The store is basically laid out as though you were taking a peek into von Furstenberg’s closet; there are books and a TV in the corner and a sofa.
The merchandise isn’t crowded on the shelves and there is a guard to open the door for you ladies.
Get ready to spoil yourselves here. I almost feel as though a manicure/​pedicure would be complementary upon purchase; there is an interesting «we’re going to pamper you» vibe about this store.

On this shopping trip, for example, we went to Fred Segal, Theory, Marc Jacobs, and then Diane. I didn’t buy anything at any of those stores until I walked into Diane and that did for me.
This love affair with Diane started 2 years ago and I thought I would eventually get bored since her clothes have a distinct style, but I always end up here buying more stuff! Happily addicted.

I spent $ 325 on a DVF dress that made me feel like $ 1,000,000. That equals to 307 592.31% return in less than 15 mins.
Am I a savvy investor or what?

Seriously! WTF is wrong with me? I went to this store like 6 months ago and still haven’t written and I’m literally dreaming, DREAMING! to go back. I used to live within walking distance of this palatial store and homage to the designing goddess herself and sadly, I’m 500+ miles away in SFC.
I’ll be back though to find the perfect, newest and beautiful wrap dress or top in style of my choice. Don’t miss the sales as there’s nothing more beautiful than a designer dress on sale. The sales help was courteous, helpful and nice — a true rarity in LaLaLand in my opinion!

I absolutely adore Diane von Furstenberg. She is a fabulous woman and a designer that I truly admire. Her signature wrap dresses can be worn by everyone, they are so flattering on every body. DVF just makes a woman feel gorgeous.
I am a true DVF girl and there is always at least 3 or 4 pieces from each collection that I cannot live without. Living in SF, I buy DVF from Neiman Marcus or boutiques that only carry select pieces from her entire collection. So you could imagine how I nearly caused my fiancée to crash the rental car on Melrose when I started screaming the moment I spotted the DVF store. We were actually headed to G Star down the street for him, so as a good woman, I didn’t make him flip a bitch so that I could shop first.
When we made it back to DVF, my eyes lit up as I stepped inside. Every dress, blouse, skirt, pant, and accessory I had only seen in her new Spring/​Summer look book hung perfectly along the wall. One of each style in the smallest size in stock arranged by pattern beckoning me to try them on. An accident in the stockroom caused both girls working there to tend to it, but a male associate came out to place things in the fitting room for me. Surprisingly, I didn’t go crazy and try everything on. I picked a few styles I had never seen before and immeditately fell in love when I slipped them on. The girls cames out and apologized for their absence and were very helpful. They took down my information and told me they could ship things out to me in SF. If they send a mailer out to me about an event or sale, I will book a plane ticket and be there in a heartbeat.

What’s not to love?
DVF immortalized the wrap dress that looks über amazing on virtually anyone, from skinny to curvy, from the office to having cocktails. Sure, you can pick up her dresses and separates at Bloomie’s and the like, but why go department store when you can cut out the middle (wo)man and head directly to their flagship LA store?
Located in a great space off of Melrose Place, it’s like heading into the mothership. And do I mean, mother. Variety, selection, and AMAZING sales. Not to mention, a little shopping love every girl desires and deserves — the dressing rooms are large and luxe and the sales girls are surprisingly genuine and helpful. (When they offer you a glass of champagne while you shop, don’t think twice, just say yes). If you’re looking for something particular, something special, or a hard to find style or size, they’ll make sure they get it in for you — and it’ll be done before you can bat an eye and guzzle those bubbles.
You’ll also find things you won’t at a department store, meaning the entire line — couture, select styles, swimwear, wraps, accessories and fragrance. New deliveries of colors and prints come in at least once a month.
Once you’ve been, seen, and conquered, they’ll add you to their mailing list, which means advance notice for special events and sales (read: fabulous shopping and more champagne) and personal hand written notes thanking you when you make a purchase (I always feel like once I’ve spent a few hundred dollars on a garment, a thank you is in order).
The kind of treatment generally reserved for indulgences upwards of $ 5k can be yours just for dropping in to spend a few hundred on a dress — or two — which range mostly from $ 325-​$ 495 with a few upwards of $ 700 (for the suede and ornate numbers). Jackets run about the same and separates can be had for $ 198 (blouses) to $ 255 (skirts and pants). Mind you, during a sale, you can subtract anywhere from 25%-75% from those rates.
They have some gorgeous wool felt pieces right now for Fall — the Marple skirt is DIVINE — so get your champagne knickers on and get shopping!
