Midwest Medical Pharmacy

This pharmacy is in a league of its own. They are fabulous! They contact the doctor for refills, they obtain the necessary paperwork from my doctors for medications that require prior approval from my insurance company. Their service is extraordinary. I live over 30 miles from this pharmacy and I use them. My physicians are in close proximity to the pharmacy. Sometimes, they will go to the office to pick up an RX if it was necessary! They go to the doctor’s office for the patient! How many pharmacies go that extra step for their customers? While it is true they do not have the latest technology for refills, they have something the big chains don’t have. It’s called service and taking a personal interest in their customers. I have been a customer for over ten years. Unless I need an RX in the middle of the night or on a weekend, they are the only pharmacy for me! Tom Shafra, the owner has a fabulous staff– Muriel, Lily, May, Maycee and all the rest, whose names I don’t know. Don’t change! Just keep doing what you are doing. You are all terrific!

I have had mind blowing difficulties with chain pharmacies. THIS pharmacy verifies everything QUICKLY and efficiently. They TRULY care about their patients and customers. I love love love them ALL I have been CARED FOR by them for over 3 years. Muriel is extraordinary like EVERYONE who works their. I’ve heavily relied on this pharmacy to literally keep me alive and I have NEVER felt healthier or happier.

Midwest pharmacy? Might as well call it Gold Standard pharmacy. Professional, courteous, understanding, and some of the nicest people I’ve come across while getting a prescription filled. Never an issue and always helpful when needed. Top notch people and a top notch place!

I have mixed feelings about this pharmacy. Feels old school. They don’t even have an answering machine after hours let alone an automated refill system.
The good: they will create formulary versions of medications to avoid dyes
The bad: wait times, operating hours (close at 5:30 pm), and not contacting you when prescriptions are ready

The staff was great — the people were friendly and went out of their way to help – and the prices are competitive, bordering on inexpensive. It feels good to support small businesses. It feels great not to support pharmacy chains.

The owner and Pharmacist Dr. Shafa is really knowledgable and friendly and helpful. And the whole staff is very friendly and every experience here has been nothing less than an A quality. Lots of pharmacies around this area but this place stands on its own. Love them.

Midwest Pharmacy is right down the street from where I live. I have been using them for years. The nice thing is that if you are in the neighborhood they deliver and you can just call in what you need and if you call early enough you can get it delivered the same day. Tom is the pharmacist there — and whenever I have a question about what the best of a certain product to use he knows — he is quite a resource.
