Every once in a while I get to say this…
Told ya so!

After reading all the positive Unilocal reviews my mom and I took my grandmother here for Mother’s Day. And I must say, «Yelp, I have never been led to far astray.»
We arrived at 10:30am. Early. There were maybe three other tables already taken in the restaurant. Let me break this down for you: It was not busy at all.
I have a few food allergies that I have to be careful of (soy (often found in vegetable oil among other common cooking ingredients) and dairy) and so I asked the waitress immediately if they would be able to accomodate me. She assured me that they would and asked the chef to make sure.
My mom ordered the tomato basil soup, my grandmother and I ordered the basic breakfast (eggs, potatoes, bacon), and an order of the cobb salad for the table (cheese on the side). And then we proceeded to wait about an hour for our food. The waitress came over once to tell us that the food would be out shortly (closer to another 20 minutes). The place was empty. It filled up as we waited, but when we ordered we were more or less the only people there. Really no excuse for basic breakfast faire.
When the food did come out, my potatoes were coved in parmesan cheese. When I first asked if it was cheese the waitress assured me that she was sure it was garlic, but I asked her to check and (ding, ding, ding!) I was right. So they took it back. And replaced the beautiful golden brown potatoes with burnt chunks of potato. At this point we were starving I took the plate, we ate, and we paid, we left.
And then I got really sick.
Overview: Horrible service, basic food, assure and then ignore food allergies. I’m giving two stars because the food was ok. My grandmother liked her basic eggs and the cobb salad was good. But the hour wait was really unacceptable when the place was empty and our orders were simple.

Would give 3.5 if Unilocal allowed.
Excellent service. We were a party of 10 on Saturday night and our waiter was extremely attentive, friendly, patient, and got everything right.
Great décor… I never went to Mirabelle’s before (I know it’s been around for a while), so I love the new décor. Kind of in between Sur and SLS hotel as far as the look goes. Cool and trendy.
Great specialty drinks.
We ordered a ton of food. My favs: Ahi tuna tartar-​has seaweed salad mixed in and a very tasty sauce. Its a bit heavy for a tartar, but I really enjoyed it! Margarita pizza-​was super yummy.
For entrees we ordered the short rib: the 2 sides were great (broccolini and polenta) and so was the cut of meat: not much fat on it. And the BBQ sauce they cook it with is super tasty!
Lobster Spaghetti: yumm! It had clams and shrimp in it which I didn’t realize. I don’t eat clams, but the other seafood was great and the sauce and pasta were perfect!
Others at the table enjoyed the steamed artichoke, but for me it was too boring. Although the sauces were good and the artichoke was literally huge, I prefer the grilled artichoke at Bandera… has more flavor.
Someone else had ordered the tomato soup, which comes with a grilled cheese sandwich… this looked amazing.
1 thing I couldn’t figure out here: WHY WAS IT SO DEAD? We were literally the ONLY table seated in the entire dining area, and there were only a handful of people at the bar. I think maybe the restaurant needs to change the name or something, to attract new patrons. Being so dead would have totally killed the vibe for me if we were not with such a big party.
I would definitely come back and try new dishes.

I love Mirabelle, I’ve been coming here for years and have always had a warm reception. I’ve had decadent french toast and eggs benedict and bottomless mimosa that I have to discipline myself to finally reach the bottom.
I’ve also come here for appies and had the humus and lamb skewers, which were excellent. Highly recommend washing it down with a scrimshaw pilsner or one of their specialty cocktails such as the eastside.
Bartender girls are so sweet and a lot of fun – this is the best brunch spot on the Strip that no one knows about!
They play awesome loungy music and it’s really hard to leave. Get an Irish coffee, Brintney and Cindy will make that it’s strong enough that even a Limey couldn’t complain.
I’ll keep coming till they kick me out.

Sunday Funday reborn on Sunset. The hostesses, servers and bartenders are fun, sweet, and full of personality. The food is AMAZING. Combine this with the décor and location, you’ve got a Hollywood sundae legend.

It was OK. Stars 3.5
Saturday night bachelorette party. It was average because we mainly drank and had appetizers. Service was fanTastic. John and Yanni both handsome and both amazingly accommodating. We were loud and obnoxious. As par for most bachlorette favors are inspired by men’s «assets». It is not really the kind of restaurant you would scream loudly «cock fight». But, they never said a word.
Food was all good, though unmemorable. Chocolate soufflé was tasty.
The bar was really quiet slightly older but the DJ played house music.
Overall great people. Come if you want a mellow friendly evening on sunset Blvd.

Happy hour happiness…
The lamb skewers were phenomenal and with the little salad that accompanies, your could make a meal on these… great atmosphere and décor.

Truly mixed feelings about this one, Mirabelle was another restaurant we would visit for late dinners. Prior to the remodel I would of given this place 5 stars.
The past, I enjoyed coming here for their amazing Pulled Pork rib, it was the best I’ve ever had anywhere. it was perfect, flavorful, melted in your mouth… For appetizers the tacos were great. Both forever gone and missed. The old layout was also more my style, comfortable, dim and intimate.
The present… I have only been back once since their revamp and that’s probably because the entire menu is different. their new menu and décor tries to cater to a more trendy crowd and im not sure I personally like it, whether I preferred the way they use to be or I just find the seating uncomfortable and the menu items didn’t blow me away. The food was good and I’d go back but it has lost a lot of appeal for me.
The service here has always been superb. From the host to the servers, nothing but exceptional. Last visit had a cute girl serving us, she was helpful with the new menu and on point.
I hope the change is working for them at least. I’d probably visit here to have a drink during the day or pre outing drinks. As it feels more lounge-​ish now.

Mirabelle… It has been a while since we had dinner there before their re-​opening. I loved their newly remodeled restaurant, so sexy, cozy and intimate. Our seat in the patio was perfect for our quiet and relaxing dinner date.
Ordered bottle of Chardonnay to start, it took our waitress a while to open it, I had to hold the bottle for her, it was so funny.
I didn’t see the fish charcuterie menu Katie B mentioned in her review, a bit disappointed. But the menu still looked good to me.
Our food:
Cream lobster soup: the lobster in it was very good, the soup was a little too creamy
Baby spinach salad with poached egg, mushrooms and egg whites: so delicious! Very flavorful without saltiness, perfect!
Mussels with fries, it came with a house made sauce: the mussels were the biggest and meatiest I have ever had! So good! Fries were great with that dipping

Tuna tartare, sashimi grade tuna with avocado, ginger cream: it was OK, not very flavorful
Sea bass, with veggie and rice cake: the rice cake was so delicious, sea bass was very tender and flavorful
Warm Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream: it took 20 minutes to prepare it, our waitress asked if we wanted it half way through dinner, hubby said why not, it was so delicious, loved the chocolate fudge!
I liked the food a lot, everything was so flavorful without saltiness. Tab was $ 142. Our waitress was very friendly, she seemed a bit nervous maybe she just started out the job or something, but she did a good job, I liked her a lot, and she was very cute too.
A very romantic place to do diner dates, with quiet, relaxing and sexy atmosphere. The seatings in patio are perfect for couples! It opens till midnight, a very nice place to have a few drinks too.
Ps. Valet is right next to the back entrance of the restaurat, I think it’s $ 5 before 8, $ 7 after 8, maybe more expensive on weekend nights.

Simply LOVE Mirabelle’s. Hands down some of that best cocktails in L.A. Try the «Justine» or «Kiss Kiss Bang Bang». This is my go to spot to gather with friends. Food is a must try as well. Love the Octopus Appetizer and the Short Rib entrée is a must– It falls right off the bone & melts in your mouth. Pairs nicely with the side of lentil. Also get the «Cheesy Toast», toasted bread cut in four w/​a sweet BBQ spread & topped with melted cheese. Simple but gets the job done! the main dining area has a sexy intimate vibe. The larger dining table is great for Birthdays or large party. They also have their own Valet lot $ 6 which makes it so easy & we all know it’s hard to find on Sunset! It’s def one of L. A’s gems.

Just got home from a terrible dinner. Do not get the seafood charcuterie. Worse food ever. I need to complain to travelzoo. Drinks were good, but over priced. This is just a bad meal. Please do yourself a favor, and don’t eat here. Time for this place to go out of business.
Update:
I finally heard back from Travelzoo, and was able to get half of the price of my voucher back. At least this was something, but further shows the poor management of Mirabelle. Skip it!

Mirabelle Restaurant is located off Sunset right by Holloway. You can enter the valet parking lot from either street ($ 7).
I have mixed feelings about this place which I will explain.
What I liked:
1) Interior design/​décor
2) Our server Shawn
3) Good cocktails
What I didn’t like:
1) The food
2) Manager follow through via email (re: Open Table)
There is no denying the interior is AMAZING!!! I recommend that everyone check Mirabelle Restaurant at least once. maybe for Happy Hour. The indoor area is decorated in a very unique way. I also liked the outdoor patio area, I wouldn’t mind going for Happy Hour to take advantage of their outdoor patio once it gets cooler.
Our server Shawn was amazing!!! He recommended some great cocktails, he even suggested an off the menu cocktail for my sister who enjoys margaritas. I had the kiss kiss bang bang which was made with gin (but it can pass as vodka) with basil and lime. Shawn mentioned there was a hint of juniper flavor which I did notice after he mentioned it. It wasn’t flowery by any mean, there was just a very slight hint. Happy hour prices for drinks are $ 7 (reg: $ 11).
We went in with a Travelzoo voucher which had various dishes from their Seafood Charcuterie menu. Little did I know that the Seafood Charcuterie was slowly being taken off the menu so the selection was very small. There was Glazed Tuna Ham, Salmon and Cured Hamachi. It was a very POOR attempt at sushi and I can see why it is being taken off the menu. The raw fish was awful… very fishy which was a sign that it wasn’t fresh. We couldn’t even finish half of it (and the portions were small). I was pretty insulted that my mouth had to taste such awful food! BEWARE OF THEIR RAW FISH DISHES!!!
Thank goodness we ordered a few appetizer dishes. The Flaming Saganaki was awesome. It was basically a flambeed piece of cheese. Their Beef Short Rib was good but the portions were small. It was 3 bite size pieces of meat for $ 7, which is the happy hour price. I would have been upset to pay the full price of $ 12.
We obviously had room for dessert so we ordered the chocolate soufflé. The menu stated it takes about 20 minutes but it took about 40! Even our server mentioned it took quite a while. The soufflé was decent but I didn’t realize it cost $ 13!!! It was no «Roy’s» soufflé!
Finally, if you book a reservation through Open-​Table, make sure to get confirmation on the spot that they gave you credit for the reservation. Those who are familiar with Open-​Table know that you accumulate points which can be turned in for gift certificates. I had a feeling the person who sat me didn’t give me credit because he didn’t listen to the reservation name, he just cut me off and sat me. I forgot to follow up with our server… this has never happened before so I was thrown a bit off guard. I emailed the address on their website, I heard back immediately and was told it would be taken care of but it’s been 3 days and nothing has happened.
I was wavering between a ²⁄₃ star. My fellow Unilocalers have told me in the past that I’m too generous in my ratings so I decided the bad food must outweigh everything else so I had to grade down.
Hmmm…not sure if I’d go back. There is a slight chance I would go JUST for drinks. Who knows!

I came with some friends for DineLA last week. I actually didn’t know much about Mirabelle, but the menu looked interesting and the restaurant has good ratings, so we decided to give it a try.
Traffic’s always a nightmare on Sunset, but Mirabelle pushed back our reservations for us when we were running late. After we valeted our car, we walked in and were seated immediately, right under a giant bear skin. Sounds like Mirabelle recently redecorated the place, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the décor. It was like a 1920s bar meets the home of an exotic safari fanatic replete with stuffed animal trophies and animal skin and print. A little confusing. Also, it was too dim in there — we could hardly read our menus!
That aside, service was great. Our server was really nice and eager to answer any of our questions.
For starters, we tried everything: maine lobsta chowda, tuna tartare + avocado & sriracha maple, curried green lip mussels with brioche.
The maine lobsta chowda was good — flavorful, but I wish it were a little creamier. The tuna tartare was okay, but a little one dimensional in my opinion. I didn’t taste much of the sriracha or maple, and I was looking for more of a kick. The mussels were probably my favorite. The curry flavor was prominent, and the mussels were steamed well. They were also generous with the number of mussels.
For the main dishes, we tried the pan seared branzino, housemade ravioli with halibut, and the George burger. A few of us wanted the colorado lamb loin & cheeks, but they ran out that night and subbed the George burger instead. The burger was tasty — the patty was a mix of Angus beef and short rib. All the components came together, and it was pretty good. The housemade ravioli was interesting, not what I expected at all! I thought it would be soft and creamy, but instead the inside was chewy and a little springy, kind of like a fish ball. The basil cream sauce was light, which I liked because I was afraid the dish would be too heavy. However, the flavor was also light, which made it a little bland. The pan seared branzino was delicious though. It was cooked really well — crispy on the outside and tender fish meat underneath. The corn, peas, chorizo and artichoke mix on the side was tasty too.
For desserts, we had the strawberry shortcake with coconut panna cotta, the carrot rum cake, and the chocolate pot de crème and heath toffee brownie. They were all good! But the strawberry shortcake was my favorite. Light, tart, and sweet all in one bite!
Overall, I had a good experience. Enjoyed most of the food, the service, and the company!

This used to be my favorite place to go to. I loved this place I would go every weekend and every birthday party for me or any friends. This place started to get worse and worse.
As of 2012 no more smoking in the bar area. Thats fine, thats the citys decision not Mirabelles. Staff used to be great. I would know everyone and everyone would know me. However the «changed Mirabelles» is something I would not go to.
I was here couple of months ago to try the new and «improved» mirabeless and all i could say is BEWARE.
The food is discusting, really. My group of 6 ordered alot of differet appetisers that the waiter recommended. All of my previous appetisers we used to get are no longer on the menu. NOT ONE good thing to eat. We ordered some drinks, that were made by professional «mixologists» and they were terrible too. Some of them had too much alcohol some not enough. I dont like to mix drinks, so I got a 12 yo scotch with a giant round ball of ice inside. The drink was not bad. We didnt even order the main course, we decided since the appetisers were so bad the main course would be worse.
We paid over $ 300 and decided to never AGAIN.
I used to love this place.
My recommendation to owner/​manager/​staff:
Change chief, change menu, charge less, change back to restaurant from lounge, bring old staff back.

I don’t know what the old Mirabelle looked like, but here’s looking at you, kid! The new interior is very Interview with the Vampire meets some HDTV show. It’s mix matched but in an on purpose way, super dark but with white accents so the light illuminates your seating area just so, etc.
We strolled in after a brief walk through the Sunset Strip Farmers Market when a slight drizzle had surprisingly started to descend from the sky, encouraging us to seek shelter elsewhere.
We were quick to be seated since the dining area was empty (the bar looked bustling, though) and there was one formal dining table style, complete with Addams Family décor, as well as one or two 6 top tables, two or three little outdoor/​indoor hookah-​lounge looking type coves, and then a bunch of two and four tops. There are bear skins on the rugs, tree stumps in the middle of the dining room, chandeliers aplenty, etc. Not a dull looking space in the least.
The menu is very sea-​centric and the cocktails are fresh ingredient heavy. They also boast quite the happy hour (see my quick tip).
I sipped on two lovely cocktails myself… the Justine (blueberry-​infused gin, lime, lightly sweetened) and the St Ambrosio (averna, aperol & vodka, grapefruit & lemon). I don’t think I could pick a favorite, to be honest, both were quite refreshing and unique. Don’t be fooled by the «herbal» description of the latter you might be given by your waiter, as it was anything but.
A girlfriend and I shared a couple small plates, as well as some seafood charcuterie. One of only a few restaurants in the States to offer such a thing, mind you!
Small plates:
Beer-​battered soft-​shell crab, potato salad ($ 12) — not as exciting as it sounds, but a good number to munch on while pining over the rest of the menu
Flaming saganaki, peppers, tomatoes, and toast ($ 10) — a brick of fantastic cheese that is flambed in front of your very eyes — the toast that comes with it was a knockout, dare I say more fantastic than the cheese?
Yellowtail collar, BBQ, fresh herbs ($ 10) — a lot of bone, but the meat that was on there fell right off and was doused in that delicious BBQ sauce — prob by favorite starter (and funny enough, we didn’t even start with it, this was a surprise «instead of dessert» dish that was ordered while I went to feed the meter
Seafood charcuterie ($ 13 for three)
Scottish salmon pastrami on rye, drizzled with horseradish, celery — nothing special about this one, sadly
Octopus terrine, scented with Tunisian chilies, beluga lentils — I am a sucker for octopus lately so this one won me over, though the GF thought it was way too salty
Smoked rainbow trout rillette, stewed tomatoes, chives, mustard sauce — ridiculously smoky, like walked in a smoke stack, smoky. Couldn’t really taste anything else.
The flavors in the charcuterie are really pronounced and full bodied, so make sure you’re definitely down for the description before ordering a specific one.
All in all, we were really enamored with the place, the service was superb (shout out to Joshua who was engaging and witty), and the bites offered us a quick dive into the ocean.

Change is good. Sometimes.
Mirabelle recently reopened with brand new décor and menu. Naturally, I was very excited to check it out.
When you walk into the main dining room it vaguely reminds you of Tres at the SLS hotel, if an antique store exploded all over it. The new décor is confusing at best. Sometimes too much creative freedom for the decorator could be a bad thing. The bar, however, is quite nice. It is a mixture of what I would say 1920’s charm and Florida Keys laid back environment. Speaking of the bar, I happen to love the new drinks and even the wine list, which was basically non-​existent in the old Mirabelle.
We were led to our table by a very friendly hostess and seated into some very weird chairs. In a few moments another friendly face brought us menus and took our drink orders. Let me just say that the whole staff is really nice and were very welcoming and concerned with our experience.
For the meals, we chose the Grilled Cuttle Fish and wild mushrooms to start. The Cuttle Fish was almost perfect for the exception of not having the wonderfully enticing grill marks and smoky flavor, which one would expect from something grilled. However, it was perfectly cooked otherwise. The mushrooms, well the mushrooms were horrible. Bland and swimming in unpleasant watery discharge, which should have at least been drained after they were cooked. I am sure no one tasted them before plating. Quite disappointing.
For the entrees we opted for a Niçoise salad made with seared Ahi and grilled Branzino served over a corn and Chorizo hash. Simply put, nothing special. I mean, nothing! The Branzino was a bit bland, which I can kind of understand why. The chorizo was quite salty and paired together it worked, but making a perfect bite every time is not what I look for when I dine. Each ingredient should stand on its own. Although, I will say that I love to end a meal with a perfect fork-​full.
No dessert. Not that they did not have dessert, they had a choice of three, but nothing we wanted to waste our calories on. Although, we did have plenty to spare as the portions were not overly filling. Speaking of desserts, I would advice you to ignore the main picture of the soufflé as it is no longer available. Foreshame!
I think the menu will get «there» in a few months and I’ll be coming back to give it another try. At the very least, to grab a drink at the bar.

I love this place! Super cool vibe. Hip. Trendy. Perfect for the strip! I hadn’t been to Mirabelle before… Apparently they had been closed for renovations… But the new and improved Mirabelle gets an A+ in my book.
I went for Sunday brunch and had the lemon blueberry pancakes with the guava syrup. Holy Cow. I could drink that guava goodness with a straw!
Our server Scott was totally awesome. Down to earth. Honest. VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. It was more like he was our friend then our server which I loved. We had a really good time with him! Couldn’t have asked for better service.
The one thing I wish they had was bottomless mimosas. It would have been the icing on the cake to my delicious brunch.
A little on the expensive side… but you are paying for being on the strip I guess…

The food was delectable, I got the white fish and my wife got the seafood pasta. Both dishes exceeded our expectations.
Service was a little slow and our waiter disappeared after the food was served. I had to track down another waiter to settle the tab.
This place looks old school. We would certainly return.

I’ve been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food is excellent and drinks are amazing as well. The pricing is reasonable and their happy hour is phenomenal :)
The place is a little bit old but it has its charm nothing terrible in that, right? It’s definitely a nice place to hang out and have a good meal/​drinks. The staff has its moment but most of the time they are super nice and the bartenders know how to make a great sangria :)
They have valet but right across the street you also have city parking (cheap).

This cozy small restaurant right on the Sunset Strip has much to say for it in terms of atmosphere and location. The menu majors in the basics with few unique offerings. The menu was unimaginative but the food was excellent overall, and reasonable for the area as other reviewers note.
Perhaps it was due to the day and time (8pm on a Saturday evening), but our service was terrible. Our waiter left for 15 – 20 minutes without checking on us, and it took over 5 minutes to get a requested water after the food was served. Other waiters seem to be more attentive, leaving us to question why our waiter seemed to disappear for such long periods.
Other than the service, Mirabelle provided a nice evening for our party. I recommend it for those who want straight forward food.

War letzte Woche Donnerstag zum Dinner da. Guter Lagen. Feines Essen und auch ein paar gute Weine. Besonders gut ist die angegliederte Bar für danach, mit super Drinks und man darf in der Bar sogar Rauchen, ja echt!!!

Un restaurant de grande qualité, avec une cuisine très raffinée.
Idéalement placé sur sunset Bld, assez calme à ce niveau du boulevard. Pas très touristique plutôt fréquenté par les fins gourmets californiens.
Un service qe qualité dans cette établissment qui existe depuis plus de 30 ans.
Je vous le conseille vraiment si vous passez à Los Angeles.
