History

Established in 1976.

In 1976 Doctor Neil McLeod succeeded Doctor Corydon Glazier as the principal of one of the oldest restorative practices in Los Angeles, where the emphasis is always on the quality of care. In a practice that is over seventy five years old, with some patients who are now over ninety years of age, it is easy for us to be able to see what type of dentistry lasts. Only high quality care that can be shown to be of lasting value is provided.

Dr. McLeod was born in Oxford, England, and raised in the British colony of Kenya in East Africa. After returning to Britain for secondary education, Neil studied dentistry at Guy’s Hospital, London, and received degrees from London University and the Royal College of Surgeons.

As a Fulbright Scholar, Dr. McLeod received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California and he now maintains a private practice in Los Angeles. Dr. McLeod’s articles on precision attachments have been published in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry.

Doctor McLeod specializes in fine reconstructive and preventative dental care. The emphasis is on communication with the patients so that they may make informed decisions about how their mouths are to be treated, and what types of materials are used to repair the teeth.

Doctor McLeod is a terrific dentist. Best one I have ever experienced in Los Angeles. He is extremely professional and detailed in his work. He takes his time and makes sure you are comfortable and not in pain. I had to have a crown made, filings replaced and recently had a bad toothache. He saw me right away and diagnosed what I needed to have done. He also followed up with me afterwards. His staff is personable and caring and makes sure you know what everything costs before the work is done. I highly recommend him and I am grateful for finding him and his kind staff.

I came in for a filling that was not done right not knowing that I had other issues affecting my everyday life. I didn’t know my bite had changed and it was not as it should be. Dr. McLeod took care of it right away!
He fixed the filling and I was ready for 4th of July eating! When I came in I couldn’t chew on my left side so this was great! At the end of the day HE CALLED ME to make sure I was good to go! My old dentist never did that!
Everyone in the office was great! Jennifer got me in the very next morning and was so helpful when it came to explaining costs.

I arrived in LA on a vacation and the glue on my permanent retainer had come off on one side and felt really sharp. Dr. McLeod and his staff were kind enough to see me after they’d closed for the day and he fixed me right up! Furthermore, he was a pleasure to meet, so kind and even recited an excellent and entertaining poem to my husband and I. Who knew a trip to the dentist could actually be fun!

I have been going to Dr. McLeod for about 10 years now. I am TERRIFIED of the dentist, or I should say I WAS terrified of the dentist! He is fantastic in every possible way! On top of being a wonderfully capable and thorough dentist, he is also very kind and patient with those of us who are a bit nervous. He really takes his time, cares about his work, and has a beyond fantastic staff — this practice is the complete package! He is seriously just the best in LA, GO!!!

This guy is the best dentist you could ever ask for. He is very detail oriented, takes his time and really cares about you and your teeth. 10-​STARS FOR DENTIST DR. NEIL McLEOD! I first came to Dr. Neil as a young Starlet many moons ago. He fixed the gap in my front teeth & gave me the brightest & most beautiful smile in Hollywood. I booked many a commercial and film with that smile.:-) Now, over 20 years later, everything has held up wonderfully. My husband and I consider him, not only the best dentist in California, but an exemplary human being and a dear friend. We trust him explicitly and feel blessed to have found a true Master at his craft. You could not be in better hands then with Dr. Neil McLeod.

Doctor McLeod is the best dentist in LA. I had a bad luck before with a dentist who put me through a lot of pain with a crown. When the crown finally fell out (after 3 months of pain) I was given Dr. McLeod’s info from my friend. Dr. McLeod spent over 2 hours cleaning my old crown, disinfecting it, and making sure it fits.
I had another crown put in yesterday, and I don’t have any pain. Dr. McLeod spends his time perfecting his work until the patient is satisfied.
His staff is very friendly, and for people like me, who have limited finances, they work with me, tell me ahead how much I’ll be paying, and get my permission before Dr. McLeod does anything.
I’m really grateful for this guy and his staff.

Not only a man of great skills; but, one who is supremely passionate about his craft. I have been utilizing Dr. McLeod for over 15 years and trust him implicitly.. . to a point where I even enjoyed Dr. McLeod’s annual hosting duties at the Tam O’Shanter restaurant’s Robert Burns’ birthday celebration wherein he slays a ceremonial Haggis and recites Scottish poetry. Seriously the best dentist I have ever had the pleasure (?) of knowing!

Dr. McLeod’s work on my teeth has always been perfectly done. He and his staff are very friendly people who have always made me feel relaxed and safe. Being in a dentist office is not easy! But his office personnel know this and have a wonderful attitude about them that takes a lot of the apprehension away.
Over the years I had the pleasure referring my clients and friends to Dr. McLeod. I also referred one of my employees (Amit) who had horrible teeth situation and Dr. McLeod and his team did a wonderful job for him.

I would like to start off by saying I received no compensation/​discount for this review because it will be so fabulous I know that will be questioned.
Put simply, Dr. McLeod is hands down the best at what he does. I came from out of town scouring many websites to find a suitable dentist for the extensive work I needed done and was incredibly nervous about getting the chicklet-​like veneers so common to Los Angeles.
I began with an initial free consultation where he examined my mouth and teeth in it’s entirety and was incredibly knowledgeable and kind in explaining why I needed every procedure and in answering my (many) questions. He also was honest, telling me the bare minimum of what work he would have done on his own daughter versus what could be done later or wasn’t necessary.
Dr. McLeod provided me first and foremost, with the most beautiful set of not only veneers but TEETH I have ever seen. He provided me with a full set on top and they look completely natural (what I was most concerned with). I came back to college without telling anyone and my close friends mentioned to me how fantastic my teeth looked, but had no idea why.
He also performed eleven fillings for me (yes, eleven I have terrible teeth and a bad grinding problem). I am a total baby about pain, and I can honestly say this was completely painless. His right hand (wo)man– Sandy, was an integral part of this and also did a fantastic job.
I never imagined in my life that I would enjoy going to the dentist. But after my (many) sessions getting my various procedures done, I got to know Dr. McLeod and the staff very well and can say from multiple experiences that every one has been fantastic, as I just finished my final one. Everyone is so friendly and passionate about you having the best experience possible. Should you have any problems, they are quick to let you in the next day to get it fixed without charge. Additionally, I received multiple calls from Dr. McLeod himself the night after visits where I had gotten extensive work done to check up on how I was doing. He gave me his personal cell phone number on the first visit as well should I need to contact him first after hours.
His prices are reasonable — INCREDIBLY — reasonable for the area. However, the work he performs is quite truly, the Rolls Royce of dentistry. As an ode to this, he only accepts four patients a day to ensure he is giving each patient the time and meticulous care they deserve. My only tip regarding pricing is to go early and try to find parking somewhere other than the parking structure under the building. I know there is a close lot nearby that charges around $ 10. If you park beneath the structure, you will pay around $ 33 + tip for any visit that is an hour or longer.
I never realized how bad my previous dentists were until I visited Dr. McLeod. I will never let another dentist touch my teeth again. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment with him the next time you are seeking dental work. You can thank me later. :)
