only been at that place on Saturdays night.
This place is known as a gay spot but SO MANY people there like myself are not so gay or not there’s Great atmosphere and you’re guarantee to have fun.

Came here last night with my Dad, his boyfriend, and my boyfriend. Not too crowded for a Saturday night. Loved all the dancers and the music!
Seemed like such a fun atmosphere with the nicest people! Very happy I finally got to check this spot out being that I am from Northern CA!
I can’t wait to visit again the next time I’m in West Hollywood!!!

An institution in Los Angeles! I hadn’t been to The Abbey in years until my recent visit, and the FUN still hadn’t left the scene. I can’t say for food since I hadn’t eaten here in years, but the drinks are… OMG! Stiff as hell fabulous, so no one can’t accuse them of being stingy. The service at the bar is swift and efficient although not what I would consider warm and fuzzy.
It is the place to be if you are looking for some fun, music that will move your body and stiff yet yummy cocktails. Oh my, we can’t forget the eye candies.
If you love music from the 90s, Abbey should be on your calendar on Tuesdays.

I was there for ladies night and surprisingly had a good time. The drinks are expensive and stiff but it plays the atmosphere. The best bartender is Alessio, a tall good looking friendly man with good conversation. He made me feel welcome.
The only drawback is the noise, but that is the «bar» story everywhere. Friday has HOT men.

I absolutely love this place! The entire vibe of it is so fun and intriguing.
Mind you I do not club in WeHo that often and the only other one I haves been to is rage. The abbey compared to rage is very different. People who come to the abbey is more well dressed but that is not always the case.
I came around 10 o clock on a Thursday night and it wasn’t too packed. Getting a drink at he bar was relatively easy and fast. The bartender was very quick with my drink which was around $ 10 each but it wasn’t that bad considering how strong my whisky and Coke was.
There are gogo dancers everywhere, and and about a ratio of 3 men to 1 woman go go dancer. They’re probably going to be he first thing that catches your attention when you walk through the door into the club. The men are ripped and the women are toned, regardless of what your sexual orientation is you’ll definitely enjoy your time looking and dancing with the dancers in the background.
It was my friend’s 24^th so I gave him some dollar bills fo da good tymes. He’s a gay frat bro, and brought along with him two frat bros who have fragile masculinity whom were a bit of a buzzkill. They felt uncomfortable with the male go gos in the background, but in all honestly if you’re at a gay bar who cares.
I had fun :]

Sunday Brunch including some bar hopping. Had a great start at Gracias Madre and ended at The Abbey for a great finish. Lemon Drops, Desserts, and finished with breaking out some dance moves on the dance floor. If you’re looking for great tunes and a club like atmosphere in the afternoon, swing by for a quick drink. Great vibes and friendly service. Also, I love that they allowed dogs!

WEHO is where the fun boys come out to play and The Abbey is where I come to party it up with them. If you are expecting an all gay crowd don’t come here; you have your mix of a crowd. You have your straight girls like me trying to hang with the fun boys and vibe to the music, you have your couples just trying to have a good time, your sexy drag queens and of course your guys that are actually straight and are trying to pick up chicks who have their guard down as well as some «straight» dudes in denial and are terrified of coming out of the closet so they do their thing on the down low.
Regardless of your gender or your sexual orientation I guarantee you a fantastically phenomenal time.
Let’s start off with I’m not by any means a party girl or a club rat, I’ve been to so little clubs in my life I can list them in 2 seconds and I’m almost 30; but I know a good time when I see one… and this my friends was a great time.
First of all their drinks are BOMB! I had more mojitos than I can count (and paid for it later with a quite lovely hang over the next day, on Mother’s Day mind you). Second of all the people are sexy sexy sexy! It might have been the alcohol but I thought everyone was gorgeous and such eye candy. Third of all the music is so on point I was digging every single track.
I will say that the thirstiness is real in here. Some guy tried fighting a guy I was with over me. He was insisting I come with him, and even started taking out money talking mess that he has more money than the guy I was with. I kept laughing because I was quite buzzed by this point and thought the whole thing was hilarious until I realized they were actually about to fight. Yes yes, like I said, the thirstiness is no joke.
On another note the bald headed security person was really effin annoying. Every time I would set my drink down on the edge of the booth he would come and angrily look at me and tell me to pick it up. Maybe he needs to get laid, who knows, but I was on the verge of taking my drink and spilling it all over him. I know it’s his job to be a «Don’t Set Your Drink Down Nazi» but sheeeesh he was a buzz kill!!!
With all that said I can’t wait to come party it up again!!! Me and my girls already have a weekend planned to come back here. Want to see a crazy drunk Russian girl dance with no inhibitions? Come chill with us at The Abbey :)

Wow. The bathrooms at the Abby are just something you need to see for yourself to believe. They are to die for… Fully stocked with hand soap and paper towels… I mean what else do you really need?
Oh toilet paper. They had tons of that too.

Guess you can say this is the place to go if you are a straight female, this place has everything from Gay, Straight, Bi, Trans, Curious, Tops, Bottoms, Vers, Masc Dom Tops, well you get it. We always end up here to look at the cirque du soleil going up in the rafters.
Food wise, I have to admit I don’t remember so I’m thinking it’s just aiiiight. Yes I will be back and maybe try to remember the food next time.

I cannot believe how much this place has gone downhill. We had to seek out service to order, were placed in a shared booth as the manager and server discussed (in front of us) how we could share so they can save a booth! The security was aggressive and impolite with another party we came with. I couldn’t believe how rude the service was. This use to be my favorite place! I really hope management can develop a better security system instead of just a bunch of employees pushing people around disregarding the customers that helped grow their business.

Strictly for the nightclub:
This is known as the gay Mecca of WeHo. And is quoted in every gay/​lesbian show ever on tv. Don’t believe the hype.
If you like being shoved and groped for a couple of hours — by all means this is your spot.
Also — don’t come here if you have any anxiety about large masses of people.
Do yourself a favor and check out the revolver nearby for a more relaxed and just as fun environment.
Second time coming to the Abby and I’m positive I won’t be back.

The Abbey is a staple of WeHo! This bar is the most packed during Pride, the Halloween Parade, etc. The place is huge, always draws a fun crowd, and they host several events throughout the week.
They have a pretty awesome drag night every Monday. The Abbey goes all out! There was an epic «Frozen» rendition that everyone loved.
You come to The Abbey to have a crazy time. The drinks are strong and the shots are huge. People will come here to have a wild Saturday night or to end the night.
If you are coming to WeHo, definitely plan on checking this place out!

I had a great time here. WeHo can have a reputation for being a little snooty but I didn’t feel that here. The best way to put it is that it didn’t feel like super boojee or anything.
The music is primarily «today’s hits”/top 40. It’s more so current, pop music, with the occasional oldie.
I had the opportunity to try out a few different drinks and appetizers and enjoyed them all. Let me start off by telling you that they do not hold back on the alcohol. All my drinks were very strong. I would say that 2 drinks is enough for sure. I had the orange creamsicle, apple, and wild berry martinis (martinis between $ 12-​$ 15). Very fruity and for those who like something sweet. Again, don’t underestimate the kick these girls pack. I also had the calamari and the loaded fries (appetizers between $ 8-​$ 15). Both were delicious. I would even go as far to say that the calamari here is one of the best, if not the best, I’ve had. Lastly I had the raspberry cheesecake (slice of cheesecake between $ 5-​$ 8). Again, delicious! Oh and our server, Joey, was fineeeee! Go ahead Joey with ya bad self ;) …ahem, but more importantly he was very sweet, attentive, and helpful in picking out drinks.
I will definitely be coming back… for Joey… and then for everything else! hahaha

Reading through a bunch of reviews I still didn’t know what to expect for happy hour during the winter months! Let me help you out!
We arrived about 5pm and snagged one of the last «good tables». Lots of boys here and a few gorgeous woman. They offer a full cocktail list and food menu. I started with the original Abbey martini. It was good! My friends liked their many drinks. A little pricey sure, but what do you expect in West Hollywood?! I would guess all drinks are good. We also had the charcuterie board and it was one of the best boards I’ve ever had. Surprising! The guacamole was also good :)
It died down a bit around 8, but our server told us the party gets started about 11. Oh, those were the days! We were done by 9 and feeling good!
Friendly enough staff, great people watching, clean restrooms, and good music! We had a great time!

Love love love the energy here!!! It honestly is the best mix of people! It clearly is a place people can come and be themselves and it is ok!
If the whole world were as great as The Abbey life would be grand! Seriously talk about peaceful coexistence and happiness!
The workers were so kind! We had an excellent bartender and a wonderful man who told us about the «fluffer nutter» !
If you are around or able to you should def stop in /​put this on your list of places to go!

Years ago I know that all my gay male friends would come here regularly to party on Saturday nights, but now The Abbey has become much more mainstream. Although still predominantly gay, there is a mixed crowd of people now and it’s so hot that they even feature this place on the TMZ tour as one of the hotspots where celebrities can be seen.
Given the fact that I’ve been hearing about how mainstream and popular it’s become, I was expecting something else when I checked this place out last weekend. I was expecting something more upscale with a hefty cover charge and pricey drinks.
Not so. No cover charge, surprisingly, even though we arrived well after 11PM. I was definitely overdressed as this is not a Sunset Strip crowd, but one where people are surprisingly casual in t-​shirts, flannels and even athletic shoes. I was even prepared to pay $ 15 for a drink but was surprised when they were only $ 11 for a well or even a moscow mule, and that they were quite stiff!
The music is house and as the night wears on the brighter lights drop to a mostly blacklit ambiance. They have mostly male go-​go dancers (who are scantily clad) but there is one female dancer in the mix and her impressive moves inspired me to work harder on my Pilates! I may never be able to dangle from the ceiling with my knees over a lead pipe and pull my entire body weight up like she can, but her core strength puts mine to shame!
Be sure to be mindful of your pockets and purses. There is even a sign on the outside patio that warns people that there are a lot of thefts unfortunately at The Abbey.

Food was excellent. Found it after first choice restaurant was closed for lunch. Nice sandwich options. Service was great, fast, and price was reasonable! I was eyeballing the desserts but I decided to mind my business! But, they REALLY wanted me to come play!
There were only a handful of ppl there but it was 1p on a Wed. Fine by me!

For my last review of 2015, and my 1,100^th overall, I wanted to share with you what really happens at a Joe P afta party…
After a BBNO (Business Boys Night Out), that started w/​dinner at Mastros Penthouse, and had a midway stop at Grand Havana Club, what better way to end the night but at the Abbey in WeHo. The Abbey features topless guy dancers & waiters, hawt chix, and is located at Santa Monica Blvd and Robertson.
One of our b’ness associates is gay, and he and his hubby hosted us at a table to the most fun I’ve had in a long time. It must have been our tuxes, because I never get this much attention anywhere including Vegas.
For example, on the way to our table we met a woman that insisted upon giving me a kiss. Later, my friend and I met two sisters from Mongolia. Turns out the sister my friend was talking to was a pro. I had to keep her sister occupied (giving her tips on where to go on O’ahu), while my friend and the pro talked biz. Afterwards, we met some latinas that we decided to meet at our hotel later, but on the way out we me some Azns that wanted to meet up with us next time. Whew!!!
In addition to the foregoing, one of my associates got kicked off the dancer’s stage, almost got kicked out of the place, and he was the grandfather figure in our group! The waiters ended up cutting him off. Good for him though, because he had a 5:30 am flight (LMFAO!!!). My other associate took off his shirt, and showed off his stuff, while some girls at our table gave him titty twisters (hahahahaha!).
The Abbey is huge! There is an outdoor patio as you walk in, and all types of nooks and crannies to bump into and meet people. Despite the place being packed on a Fri, everyone was chill, and as I said earlier, the women were real friendly. Our table had the cat bird’s seat, and we were able to attract many women to our table: 5 Stars. Our waiter was super cool, on top of it, and kept us happy all night. Its amazing he was able to do that w/​all the peeps at our table: 5+++ Stars.
The Abbey has everything that rhymes w/​WeHo: Bro, heaux, mo, pro and Joe. What are you waiting fo!!! ICSROTFLMAO!!!

My colleagues and I decided instead of a high noon tea after lunch, why not have a high noon «cocktails» instead; at The Abbey!!. After all, being a Roman Catholic, I should completely feel right at home surrounded by holy statuettes, gleaming with lipstick smiles and all! Never in my whole life have I seen saints with lipsticks? OMG, if only my Mom knew about this place! I would be disowned for life.
The Abbey… make a «mean-​ass» drinks! My bartender who by the way, she was super nice, made my Long Island Ice Tea like there’s no tomorrow! And after having a few (not sure how many I had), sent me smiling to the roof! It’s legit y’all! Both my colleagues even mentioned their Rum and coke was the best they’ve ever had. We all agreed! Of course, we were at The Abbey for quite sometime.
Oh before I forget to share, The Abbey is mammoth! It felt like you were in church, high vaulted church like ceiling, there’s even a praying wall if you will… except, there are three bars to cater for you. It’s kind of like going to church, except when it’s time to lock yourself into one of those closet confession, you simply get up your seat, and go to the nearest bar, and order your favorite beverage! If you deem Shirley Temple will keep you in-​line so you will not have to go to confession, more power to ya!

I can’t believe I’ve never written a review for this place. One of the great hangouts in Los Angeles. I love West Hollywood and even if The Abbey isn’t the initial reason why I there, it very often ends up being the last place I end up. The drinks aren’t cheap but they are strong and have crept up on me on several occasions after I was already home or on my way home. I wake up like WHAT JUST HAPPENED??? Its a beautiful space as well. If you have the opportunity to come during he day to enjoy cocktails and some lunch I would definitely recommend doing so to get the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the place without the HUGE crowd.
The Abbey gets super packed pretty much every day of the week. I’ve never been there during the evening and it wasn’t shoulder to shoulder. It’s fun though. They also have male and female go-​go dancers which gives a little something for everyone to look at. A great mix of people, all races, all genders, gay and straight and everything in between. So much fun! If you live in Los Angeles and have never been, you’re doing yourself a disservice. Hurry up and get there!

I use to believe that in today’s economy, $ 1 didn’t get you much… Well, that’s not the case at the Abbey! $ 1 gets one a whole lot! You’ll find out quite quickly, what is the best bang for your buck –when you get there! The choice is yours –and oh so many gorgeous choices! ;)
The Abbey is a fun restaurant/​bar to people watch, listen to music, dance and have a fabulous mango mojito! It helps one to have an open mind, free spirited attitude when going there –otherwise, I highly suggest a self-​administered enema STAT to help get that stick out first… before going.

3.5 stars is more accurate for the food but I’ll tip it to 4 because it’s a fun atmosphere. Ate here for dinner tonight. I had the TNT sandwhich with turkey, turkey bacon, alfalfa sprouts, and garlic aioli, was good but unsure how I feel about the Turkey bacon. Garlic aioli tasted more like mayo and pesto aioli tasted just like pesto. Garlic Fries tasted like regular fries.
