Ordered Shrimp Egg Foo Young with Egg Fried Rice with delivery. The fried rice was OK, but the Foo Young is just some stuff that was deep fried with so many oil and completely tasteless.

Very mediocre for Chinese takeout and delivery takes a while. I’ve ordered from Happy China twice. The first time I got the general tso’s tofu with veggie lo mein. Delivery took over an hour and I had to call to ask where my food was. The second time, I ordered the szechuan tofu with a side of plain lo mein. Delivery was much faster this time. ~40 minutes which is what they estimate when you order. Both times the food was decent but not great, even considering that this is Chinese takeout. The sauces are bland making the tofu lack flavor. The lo mein was average but nothing special. The veggie lo mein was better than the plain. On the bright side, the portions are a good size. Overall, I was a bit disappointed that Happy China didn’t cure my Chinese takeout cravings :(

The food comes out fast and fresh. That in itself is wonderful. The dishes are hit or miss though. The shrimp lo mein was too salty and didn’t have enough vegetables. But the orange chicken was pretty good. This place uses disposable plates and utensils, so this isn’t fancy date material exactly. But it’s food. And college kids like food. Lol.

Delivery through hungryboiler takes forever, but the food is always fantastic. Happy China has the best crab rangoon I’ve had, and the eggrolls are perfect. Definitely worth it.

Took forever. Well over an hour after ordering we are still sitting here waiting. Last time we ordered, it was so-so in quality. We will be looking for another option to get our Chinese after church fix.

I have ordered from this restaurant several times on Hungry Boiler. My food has always arrived between 30 minutes to an hour later, with nothing spilled, smashed, etc. I like the General Tso’s chicken the best. I have tried the orange chicken and sesame chicken, but they’ve been too sweet for me. The crab rangoon(while lacking on the crab end) is really tasty. They usually have pretty good deals, too, and the portions are quite large, even when you order a combo or lunch special. Whenever I’m craving Chinese, I always order from here.

This is definitely the best Chinese in the West Lafayette/Lafayette area. Portions aren’t skimpy, orders are fulfilled quickly, and, as noted, the taste is good. All the typical, basic American Chinese things on are the menu. I always order online(through Hungry Boiler), though, because when I called in an order once, they screwed it up. I definitely wouldn’t recommend eating in, as the place isn’t very nice. I always do carry-out.

Ordered chicken ho fun and thought it tasted very bland. Portion was a good amount and order was ready for pick-up quickly, but the taste was just not good enough for me to go back.

I had ordered my food online, and the processing went through very fast. I walked into the restaurant, and after smelling the fragrance they had misted(I want to call it old playdoh), the cashier said it would be a couple minutes. After a couple minutes, I picked up my order, went home, and ate it. 5 stars, was able to eat the food.

I ordered delivery from Happy China for the first time. Overall, I was impressed! Delivery Time: 15 minutes from call to arrival(shockingly fast) Portions: Massive Price: inexpensive($ 7.50 for entrée+ spring roll+ fried rice) Taste: average I was pleased with my meal! I can’t stress enough how huge the quantities were. Also, the delivery was lightning fast! Update: 2÷8÷15 I’ve ordered from Happy China a few more times. There are two positive qualities that I can’t stress enough. #1: the portion size is overwhelmingly massive. #2: the delivery is very fast(maybe because I live right down the street.) It’s important to recognize Happy China for what it is: Chinese fast-food. It is not a sit-down, fine-dining restaurant. It’s a cheap in-and-out place. With that being said, the expectations for such an establishment must be held to a fast-food type of standard. The sauces probably come out of a can. Each individual order probably wasn’t made by hand with the care and consideration that you would expect from a fine-dining establishment. It may lack some of the unique spices and flavors that could be expected at much more expensive restaurants. It’s simple Chinese-American fast food. By that standard, Happy China knocks it out of the park. Under the category of $ 5-$ 10 Chinese-American takeout restaurants, Happy China is simply as good as you can get. 5-stars. Well done.

This is the only place I order Chinese take out from. They never disappoint! Always delivered quickly and is always hot and tastes great. Everyone always very friendly and great customer service. Ordered this afternoon and got a small wonton soup. If this was small-I’d love to see their large. Was a very generous portion and had plenty of whole wontons. Was delicious!!! I definitely recommend this place as far as this price point, and type of restaurant.

This is an awesome place to eat/take out Chinese food. I really like the consistency of the quality of their food. Every time I go there the food is always warm and delicious. The place is clean. The price is really reasonable.

My favorite here is the curry chicken with double curry(spicy and mouth watering) and steamed chicken with mixed vegetables with garlic sauce on the side(healthiest chinese food option in town!!). They are super fast with called in pick up orders. I’ll call and drive over immediately after and 90% of the time they’ll have it ready. People who work there are very responsive and will keep any wait time to a minimal.

Had delivery from here last week. It was prompt, and the portions were good size. The food was a little bland, and the hot and sour soup was different from any I’ve ever had. Wasn’t crazy about it. The egg rolls were decent and not to greasy. Overall the good outweighs the bad. I’d give it another shot.

All in all, Happy China is a decent choice for typical(Americanized) Chinese food. Last night I wasn’t feeling so well, so I decided to look for something quick to pick up for dinner. Having spent my early years in San Francisco, Chinese takeout has always been a fixture in my monthly dinner rotation, and is something of a comfort food to me– I always want hot & sour soup when I’m sick. I found the Happy China menu on and put in my order online. At the time, I actually thought I had ordered it for delivery, so in the«special instructions» box I put«Back Door». I had actually ordered takeout, and so Happy China called, texted, and left me a message to clarify. I appreciate that they took that effort rather than just letting me wonder why my food was never delivered. So I ended up driving there to pick it up. They were(understandably) a little delayed by the delivery/takeout confusion, and so I waited 5 – 10 minutes for my order. I wouldn’t recommend eating in, as the dining room is pretty shabby and less than pristine in terms of cleanliness(although I wouldn’t worry about food safety). On to the food: Hot & Sour Soup: Big portion with plenty of the typical vegetables, and a nice helping of mushrooms, which were fresh and well cooked. However, the flavoring was off for me, rather than the tangy sweet/sour that I look for in this soup, the only note I tasted was spicy. Steamed Dumplings: Came with 8 dumplings. These were not my favorite– the dough was very heavy and they didn’t give us any dipping sauce! It’s hard to mess up dumplings though, they were still very satisfying and I finished two. General Tso’s Chicken– Generous portion size, well cooked(crispy) and a good bit of brocoli in there to help you deny the fact that what you are eating is fried chicken drenched in sugary sauce. Tasty. Mixed Vegetables with Tofu: Vegetables were fresh and well cooked, plenty of tofu chunks. Sauce was decent if not memorable. Overall, food was satisfying, portions were very large, and prices were great(all this for less than thirty dollars and my husband and I can easily get three meals out of it). I would go back to Happy China for takeout for ease of ordering and location and fresh, decent food(skip the soup next time!).

Got the General Tso’s Chicken combo. Got delivery in 15 mins on a Friday night. The food was pretty great. They made it extra spicy the way I asked them to. Not too oily, which was nice. You definitely get enough for 2 meals at least. I eat a lot and even I have enough for 2. I’ll be definitely trying them again.

We just tried takeout and thought it was pretty good overall. Great service and the place was very busy. The steamed dumplings were delicious and the Pork Ho Fun was also a good choice. My Chicken Chop Suey wasn’t bad — not very flavorful, but the chicken was quite tender. The portions are generous and the prices are low. I am sure we will be back.

As far as Chinese food places go, this is one of the more decent ones in West Lafayette. Their price is a-ok, the portion is larger than most chinese places around, but the food itself is just… okay. Not bad, not mind blowingly delicious or anything. The staff is more often good than not. Some of them will remember you if you go there often. The delivery is pretty good. Within their guarantee of 30 – 45 minutes for most part.

This place is always our go to place for take out Chinese food. In comparison to the other take out Chinese establishments in Lafayette this place is the best one yet, but I’m not so sure if that says much. The food here is good, along with the specials and variety, but sometimes the sanitary and cleanliness factors always make me hesitate eating here haha. The service here is so-so it really just depends on who is working. Overall, this is an okay place to eat, but definitely carry out and cross your fingers it’s a good day at Happy China!
