Mohr and Mohr Smiles

I was looking for another dentist and found Mohr and Mohr. The staff was very personable, professional, and set me at ease. My family used them for a couple of years and we never experienced the high pressure that some others have expressed.
I did finally decide not to continue using Mohr and Mohr because of a technology they use that measures the enamel of the tooth. On one visit he said that he reviewed the data and found one my teeth was GOING to be a problem eventually so we should just take care of it before it becomes too bad. I agreed and on my next visit he suggested that another of my teeth was going to be a problem but I told him I needed to hold off.
I researched the technology for measuring the enamel and my feeling after reading the research was that this was not as definitive an indicator of a problem as I was lead to believe by this dentist.
I tend to believe people are basically good at heart and would never do anything to perform unnecessary procedures and I believe this about Mohr and Mohr. I do think they may depend on certain technologies to an extent that might lead them to perform procedures before obviously necessary.

Beware! They have 0 negative reviews on there website! They remove those! Went for a «you won’t remember a thing» cleaning and check up. Left just after the grinder came out and I got up from chair and ran out. There radio spots have to be from clients who got free services… did ask about a no remember cleaning and was over 2 k. Like my current dentist so its not all dentists I don’t like but don’t drink there kool aid!

Just moved here. Needed a new dentist. I should have read the solitary Unilocal review before going in. I had the exact same experience. They start off by giving you the hard-​sell– using an intra-​oral camera to show you every one of your existing fillings.

Yeah, I see it, but I don’t know what it means.
But I was told its a crack or decay or something else awful.
I was prescribed over $ 6,000 worth of work. I take very good care of my teeth, rarely needing anything done. So this was quite a shock.
Also, they dropped this bomb on me like it was no big deal. The Doc seemed impatient with me for being surprised. He also seemed to have no concept that hardly any person can just get $ 6K worth of work at a moment’s notice. When I merely stopped a moment to ask if the work was immediately necessary, the Dr. pulled out a photo card with people’s mangled teeth on it to show me what could happen to me! Yikes.
Lucky lucky me, I happened to be having lunch with a friend whose father is a dentist! She offered his second opinion. He said that none of the work was necessary, my teeth are in great shape, and that he sees this kind of thing happen to people who move to new towns all the time. .. especially in offices that use the infra-​oral camera, which costs upwards of $ 40K and needs to be justified!

Do not go to this dentist! They are very aggressive with the dental care that they recommend. They told me that I have 4 cavities and need fillings. The dentist also told me that I need to come in soon to get the fillings so I don’t end up needing a root canal. Since I haven’t had cavities in 10 years, I went to my previous dentist for a second opinion and he said that I don’t have any cavities!

Anecdote: I recently moved to Indiana, and chose Mohr and Mohr Smiles for an exam and cleaning. I have been fortunate enough to be cavity free my entire life. To my surprise, these guys said I needed 6 fillings! Skeptical about acquiring 6 cavities within a half year since my last appointment, I visited another dentist in Indy who said I had no cavities.
I can’t be certain which dentist was making the right call, but this office errs on the proactive side, to put it kindly.
Besides the questionable diagnosis, I found the hygienist to be very friendly and had good technique. The office was clean and had modern equipment.
