La Quinta Inn West Long Branch

BED BUGS!!! Stay away. Got bitten the entire night and saw one on my pillow. Did not feel comfortable sleeping here.

This hotel was very nice, the entire thing looks like it was remodeled. The room was modern and clean, with a new bathroom. We stayed on a Saturday night and it was quiet all night. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. They served a free continental breakfast too, which was a nice little plus.

I had a good experience when my family and I stayed here two years ago. Everyday housekeeping came to clean our room. Everything was clean and acceptable. It was just one dingy looking blanket it smelled clean but looked dingy I asked for another one and they changed it with no problem. I met a lot of interesting people there and its close to everything you need. I’m sorry the other people had bad experiences but my family and I had a great one.

Disgusting. Booked on priceline and smelled mildewy. Worst hotel I have ever been to. Will never return!

Worst stay ever.
Front desk is very awkwardly placed to look down the entite first floor of rooms.
So guess what, every time you step out of your room everyone near the front desk area will look down the hall and see you coming in and out of your room every time.
That is just uncomfortable.
An it doesn’t make sense if you ask me, since there’s a second floor.
Do the good people get to go on top? And the degenerates on the bottom where they have to be watched by mom and dad?
There are also peeping toms around this place that are there on extended stay and I had to keep my a curtains closed the whole time.
I thought the guy maybe can worked there until I talk to someone around the building to find out he’s just a guess. The main PM watch is a bunch of guys that think their security at a nightclub or something. Very uncesscary. Lol
All in all I just think this place is ridiculous (for hotels in general and definitely of La Quintas)
I’ve stayed at hundreds of rooms to compare to, as i travel quite extensively in the music industry.
I also ind it ridiculous to have to go to the front desk to even get a soda or candy bar as they do not have ANY vending machines!
Bottom floor ice machine had to sign saying it was broken and it worked fine.
I even have observed whoever mops the floor by the ice machine (which was greasy tile by the way) and he even waved to me and smiled as I went around the other exit to let him do his job.
When I came back around the other entrance just a few minutes later after my dogs did their business outside, I noticed not even a wet floor sign up! An as fate would have it, a family with a bunch of kids came screaming dowb from the upstairs rooms, all excited to go to the pool or something.
It’s a good thing I was there to tell them that the floor was wet, because I guaranteed they someone would slipped and fell.
All in all very unprofessional and pretentious .
DO NOT STAY HERE!

I recently stayed there with my family. We were assigned a non smoking /​no pet room (#133). After a nice dinner nearby, headed back to the room around 12:30am. Just about to sleep, I noticed something crawled on my wife’s pillow. I was astonished to see a bed bug!!!
She screamed! My kids were freaking out! I called front desk. The night attendant said he was going to send someone. It took 3 phones calls and 15 mins later to get someone from the hotel to our room!
He offered to move to another room. We didn’t accept the change, due to the horror. We packed out bags in minutes and demanded a refund. The front attendant refunded the money after making a phone call. But I demanded management to rectify the situation. He couldn’t do anything as he was the only person on the night shift. Stating to contact management tomorrow morning.
The next day, I called and explained the issue to the manager (an Indian lady)
She was yelling by saying «What can I do?» I told her that I will call the LaQuinta corporate office and inform them of your operation. She screamed and blamed it on a «pet» that stayed the night before!!! (I took a no pet room). So I retaliated and explained to her again and again that it was a bed bug!!! Pets don’t carry bed bugs!
Any case, I lost my case and so I plead you NOT to stay there!!! I don’t believe they even took care of the problem!

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The rooms smell — we had to change them twice and it didn’t get any better. They’re stuffy and when the AC is turned on, a musty, urine like smell emerges that travels throughout the entire room. Possible bed bugs, dirty pillows. There are kids always running down the halls at all hours of the night. It’s also built very strangely; you take the stairs to get to the elevator and then take more stairs to get to your room.
When we arrived, the concierge said we couldn’t check in since it was before 3pm and didn’t bother checking to see if any rooms were available regardless. I went to change in the bathroom only to come out 5 minutes later to have him say there is now a room available. Didn’t get to partake in the included breakfast as the hours change from day to day.
Would never stay here again.

Came here with my boyfriend for our anniversary. It was winter, and we needed a warm place to stay. We stayed two nights and it was pretty standard. The room was clean enough. The service was decent. The jacuzzi was very relaxing but we didn’t go in the pool. Alright stay :)

Traveling down by myself to see an old buddy I needed a inexpensive but clean place to stay with the hopes I didn’t have to share the bed with bedbugs… I didn’t…On a positive note, for the price, you get amenities you don’t at more expensive places (indoor hot tub, pool, limited free breakfast, many tv channels, micro, fridge).On the negative side .its a turnoff seeing pet stains on the carpets, loud barking etc. I asked for a more pet free room and they made no accomadation. I smelled pet in the room… All the furniture was beat up. tears in chairs, carpet and scratches on all the wood furniture… I heard a huge dog barking and no doubt it was on the bed… This aside… Where this Indian family run hotel fails is in the apparent lack of professional hospitality training and its cheapness… The hallway ceilings are arm height and very hot… When a favor is asked of the desk staff you get the impression even when their fairly nice, they are being bothered… many times whoevers on duty at night isn’t even anywhere to be found… a hotel where everyone wants to stay in their room, and does… This place is dotted with personal cultural items of the owners, you get the sense it is an extention of their home… Sleeptime was quieter than normal I have to say although I couldn’t really sleep for any length of time. when I would wake up id look outside and see 3 cars… I figured everyone changed their minds and went home… I have said this on previous reviews but it fits again here… JOHN TAFFER MAKEOVER AND RETRAINING NEEDED HERE desperately !!

This hotel was great… Until Saturday night. I’ll get to that.
So the hotel has a great pool great workout room, the rooms are really nice and really clean. The girls who checked me in were nice but unprofessional (clearly had had two guy friends come and hang out with them during their shift). Saturday no one came and cleaned after we removed the do not disturb sign at 12. I asked at 3pm for someone to come clean they said all of house keepers had left. I asked if they could leave towels and things in our room which they said they would. They didn’t. Called again at 3am Valentine’s Day they gave us ratty horrible towels that I had to pick up at the front desk from an employee who treated me horribly… Check out the pictures below!

A couple of coworkers and i have stayed here at least 10 times before and its always been the same. Decent place for the money. Staff is friendly. Beds are clean. Restrooms are clean. Wifi is good enough for netflix and HD. Cell service does suck if your on the back side of the building. sprint and ATT and verizon barely gets service. But works fine on the second floor and the front of the building. Breakfast is mediocre at best. But overall a decent place to stay.

Worst major hotel property I have stayed at in a long time.
My shower was dirty. The hallway is creepy and gross. Old smelly carpet, big heavy doors that aren’t traveler friendly. Dim lighting.
They asked me to park in the back of the building, where some unsavory looking guys hang out by a picnic table. Not sure what that is about.
They stuck me in one of the first floor rooms, where it is impossible to get cell service. Kinda feels subterranean. I asked to change rooms, and they said no?! They offered free landline services, but that doesn’t really help. Missing tons of calls and texts. Very hard to do any work from this place.
The continental breakfast is a carb-​fest. The coffee is from a machine and very bad.
They talk down to their customers. I will never stay here again.

Worst hotel I’ve been to in a while. Ran the long branch marathon and stayed there for a night. We got back to out room at 1pm after the marathon and our key didn’t work! Went to the front desk and they made us pay an extra $ 50 for checking out after 12pm when the race started at 8am! Asked the gentleman at the front desk if they could waive the fee because of the timing of the event and because they were a recommended hotel on the marathon website and was referred to the management. Completely unhelpful, and on top of that there is no cell phone service in the rooms with Verizon and the wifi was completely useless. When we asked about the wifi, we were told to go to the lobby to use it. Completely unhelpful.

So many rules. No pool parties with my friends after the sun goes down.
