This whole crew deserves some serious good karma, and I’d recommend giving them a call whenever you need Towing & Recovery, or a U-haul. Here is why: My wife and I were an hour and a half into our 2800 mile move across the country from Jackson, MS to Seattle, WA when the transmission on our SUV suddenly blew out, and we were left with 2 unhappy cats in a carrier, an SUV full of sensitive electronics, and a 6×12 U-haul trailer filled to capacity with all our possessions that would make the journey with us. My father did a quick search and recommended I give these guys a call, and I had no idea how important that simple decision would be for us in determining how the most stressful day of our lives to date would unfold. Mike was driving the Tow Truck they sent, and he was a great and quite capable guy, who recommended and took us to Edward’s Transmission, which is exactly where we needed to be. We talked with him as he got us hooked up and took us there, and treated us extremely fairly when it came time to pay the bill, charging us only the minimum with his supervisor’s permission, and offering us alternatives and contacts to try and help solve our immediate problem. After having the SUV checked out and concluding that even if the transmission was rebuilt for 2+ grand it would never make the journey we knew we were really in a bind, and we finally decided it was time to find the nearest U-haul dealer and try to trade in our 6×12 trailer for a U-haul Truck that could make the journey and hold everything. This is when we discovered that the nearest place with the smallest U-haul was the very same place that had treated us so well in handling the towing. After a quick phone call they sent someone to pick up my wife and I, along with our cats, and bring us to their facility, where we explained everything and filled out the paperwork. When I finally asked how much it was going to cost, expecting only a discount for turning in the trailer over 2500 miles early, I was left speechless as they told me that they were giving us a 17 foot U-haul truck, $ 1000 worth over what we’d paid for the trailer rental, FREE, as part of their Emergency Aid! But the story doesn’t end there. Thanks to the transmission shop they took us to, Edward’s Transmission, we weren’t charged for them simply checking out if it could be quickly fixed, and one of the employees, Tommy, there took an interest in the engine of our SUV which was in perfectly good shape, and he bought from us for $ 600, but not before he met us over at Donnie Plunk’s to help us quickly transfer the full contents of our 6×12 U-haul trailer into the new 17 foot U-haul Truck. Thanks in no small part to the amazing people at Donnie Plunk’s my wife and I made it safely to Seattle, our new home, in time for her to start her new job, and I would be remiss not to leave them my thanks. I wish you all the best!
