Lens Labs Express of West New York Inc

Went to get glasses. The doctor was nice.
The staff was horrible. First I was promised my glasses on the following Friday. (7 days) later I called they said the next day. I called. Still not ready.
I should have known. I went in to get a promo they advertised on there store front. I went in and she tried to pull a bate and switch. Suddenly from $ 250 promo to over $ 500. When I said give me my script I’m going across the street, she stopped.
I found it funny that they kept on wanting my SS#.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.
First off, Dr. Friedman’s fine, but he has NOTHING to do with the sales part of that store. If you want shit service, this is the place to go.
First, the Dr. told the lady I specifically didn’t need to be charged the $ 30 fitting fee (for contacts), because I wasn’t fitted. I didn’t need to be. So it was $ 80 for the eye exam and 4 boxes of contacts which is what I get with my insurance. I was told it was also $ 40 extra for Acuvue Advanced because they no longer made the contact brand I used. A total of $ 120.
They told me my contacts would be in that Thursday. It came on the following Tuesday, 5 days later. No BIG deal, until I go to their store and they ordered the wrong RX/​prescription. The store is out of my way so I asked them to mail me the contacts because it was their mistake. I get the contacts on October 26^th, mind you my exam was 9÷30÷13. Almost a month to receive my contacts. I open the box and they’re Acuvue2s. So why did I dish out $ 40 extra for advanced?
I call them several times, each time telling me to call back. Finally the 3^rd phone call they said I had to come in. I had enough so I called their corporate office. While waiting for them to call me, the manger of the West NY office calls me lying through her teeth. She said I was written down for Acuvue2s, which was a lie. Also, she said it was $ 80 plus the $ 30 fitting fee so they only owe me $ 10. I said that was incorrect, the doctor told them I didn’t need a fitting fee and her reply was, «this is my store, the doctor works for me.» I also asked to speak to the eye doctor and was told he was on vacation.
I am still waiting for the person who manages all the Len Lab Express stores to tell their West NY store to issue me a refund.
*UPDATE* Since no one is returning my call from corporate/​headquarters and the lady at the West NY office is a lying b*tch, I have taken the necessary step to files complaints against them with my insurance provider, BBB (Better Business Bureau), and the NJ Office of the Attorney General/​Division of Consumer Affairs. I suggest you do the same.

Dr. Friedman– does his job and made my glasses very well. I can see way clearer now w. my new glasses.

the women behind the counter are very RUDE, MISERABLE, and have the worst customer service EVER. they even over charged me for my frames and schemed me in front of my face (I had a friend go in and ask the price for the same glasses and they gave her a way cheaper price!) so when I asked them about it they (specifically Maria — the girl w. the permanent white eyeliner who looks like your typical Latina prostitute) and this other dominican lady were scoffing at me as if they were high school teenagers. I could not believe how they were treating me.
Their attitude was more offensive than the actual act of them scheming my money. Even my mother has had issues with them and had to go to wnypd to complain AND her friend — on two separate occasions !!
Over all — the doctor is good but Maria is a very dumb and rude and offensive. When I was asking the other lady about the price they schemed me Maria had RAN out of her break room as she was eating just to cover her own arse. Then she ended up leaving !! She’s such a waste to the company bc she made that establishment lose 2 customers and i will be spreading this story so who knows who else.
Hey guys here is an update. I had to go back to pick up my RX so that I can buy my contacts elsewhere. Turns out the price they were charging me was DOUBLE of what I paid at Walmart for my contacts. Also turns out, more and more people that I know have had problems with the staff. Specifically Maria. Never come here unless you like super poor customer service and chongas to treat you like dirt !!

The office staff is the most unprofessional, disrespectful and out right confrontational staff I have ever seen. They misrepresent their services, access personal information without cause, and insult customers on a daily basis. Take my advice and take your business anywhere else. I called to ask if they were a provider for my insurance and was told they were. I went in to purchase glasses for my son and husband. Maria, who much to my dismay I found out was not only the manager but the owner, ignored my husband only to argue with him when he asked me if she spoke English. She insisted I give her my license and full ss number. I asked her why if my last 4digits were all she needed to access the information. She even tried to talk badly about him to me when he stepped away. After paying 300 after my insurance discount I asked for transitional lenses for my son and was told they don’t cover that. I have never paid a penny for that so I called VSP to confirm the information. I was told they were not a provider and they had no idea why she required my social security number. I also found out I would have only paid for the frame difference and gotten transitions for free. When I went to the office the very next day to get a refund, Maria the owner was argumentative and insistent she was in network. I had to explain to her VSP had no listing for lens express. She is an out of network. I was lied to and I demanded every piece of paper with my social be returned to me. I had to call VSP and put her on the phone for them to tell her she was wrong. She then proceeded to tell me I needed a psychiatrist. I gathered witness information and threaded to sue her for insulting people. Armed with my cell phone I had been recording the entire exchange. It was clear that she misleads and mistreats customers and staff. I am writing this to warn people because she obviously has no regard for the people she services. I can only imagine how many others she has taken advantage of. I got all my paperwork and a full refund. I am also complaining to the BBB. I also plan to post this review on any possible websites to make sure people know to take their business elsewhere.

This company gave me an incorrect eye exam, contacts that made my vision blurry, and refused to give my money back. Staff was rude and not helpful. At first, I thought I had diabetes because lenses that Dr prescribed were wrong. I called to cancel my order and they would not pick up the phone for several days. This place is unethical, bordering on malpractice (medical neglect). They absconded with $ 690.00 that I cannot get back.
