Just bought a car and needed some quick service. They got me in right away, took care of the problem, and now they have a new customer!

I stopped by to get a new under engine splash guard (quote $ 245 — very acceptable compared to other places). They asked to see the car to ensure ordering the correct part. They took one look, inserted a clip and charged me $ 10 telling me I didn’t need a new one. They easily could have done this and told me it was new and I never would have crawled under the car to check. They were VERY honest, friendly and fast. I will certainly use them again!

I was shopping a lot to find a good and affordable place to do some body work, and I chose this place because it was most affordable and they definitely know what they are doing, another places wanted me to do a lot of not necessary things, I just needed quality body work, without overpaying! They promised my car will be ready in 3 days, but it was ready in two, service was quick, owner was nice, the outcome is on the picture… Thank you guys!!!

I purchased a certified pre-​owned 2013 Nissan Altima and wanted an independent mechanic to take a look at the car prior to purchase. I brought the car in and they took it right away, done in under 2 hours. They did a thorough inspection of the car including visual and diagnostic (don’t skip this step), and gave me an itemized list with estimates of must-​repairs, nice-​to-​haves, and what repairs I can expect in the future.
Buying a used car is a nerve-​wracking process. The team here was personable, professional, and honest. I’m a huge believer in customer service, and based on the level of service I received here I will be back for every repair my car needs. Highly recommend.

This is a late entry for some bodywork I had done at Ramirez about 6 weeks ago.
After shopping around the area for bodywork, Ramirez seemed to be the most practical, friendliest and conveniently located for me when enquiring on estimates.
I left my vehicle for about a week and when asked if there was a possibility to have the job done sooner, they happily accommodated.
I was extremely nervous to leave my car with ANYONE. I am extremely happy about the work done on the car. I have had body work done before and mistakenly used a «reputable» place in Manhattan that I had to return to in order to have «moisture» marks removed from the poor paint job. In retrospect, I should have chosen Ramirez.
I have recommended Ramirez to friends who have now also used them for repair services and left 5 star reviews as well. As a friend also stated, the only thing maybe I could suggest is to possibly offer extended hours once per week for those of us who commute to NYC who can’t make it during the standard hours.

Ramirez & Sons is the best of everything auto repair. THE BEST. And so personable. Always a great experience all-​around

This place is a mom and pop shop that appears and operates like a very well managed garage. I’m glad that we found them.
My impressions.
1) the team works very well together. They treat each other respectfully and everyone seemed to be very happy to work there. Every time I’ve interacted with them, they’re friendly on the phone and genuinely wanted to get me back on the road. Got to meet Jose, Jay, and Annette. Great people.
2) The pricing seemed fair. This will blow away any dealership pricing. I was advised of everything that was wrong (which I already knew before I dropped it off) and was happy to do some recommended maintenance as well.
3) I am definitely coming back for future service on my BMW
One thing that I’d like to see is
1) wider hours for pick up and drop off. Yes it sucks, but the whole shop doesn’t need to be opened for extended hours of pick up and drop off even once or twice a week for the busy commuter.

I am only giving two stars because the owners seem very nice. I had to bring my car here because of issues it it’s abstained to my paint due to the building that I live in. the first day that I attempted to go and I was told that Harley wasn’t available and to try again anytime between 8 AM and 6 PM the following day. when I arrive the following day around 1 o’clock I entered it to, what I believe would be called the reception area to where I wasn’t greeted for 20 minutes although the receptionist was with someone else she could’ve at least acknowledged me. then when I finally did get her attention she didn’t know what I was talking about and told me that the man that I was supposed to look for according to my apartment complex was no longer there (her words were «no longer with us») and that the owner had stepped out and to try again tomorrow.
As tomorrow approached with an already bad taste in my mouth from my experience of the lack of customer service I arrive again around 1 o’clock and I’m told that they «aren’t mind readers and the boss went for lunch, we don’t know what time your going to show up, she was here all day…» and I could sit and wait. I felt that her approach was very rude and that she had told me to come anytime before open and close time, and that is what I did. Just like the day before I wasn’t greeted when I entered for about 15 minutes as a receptionist took a personal phone call talking to someone on the other line about her daughter. I found it to be very unprofessional as to the fact that the lobby or reception area was full and she was having a very loud inappropriate personal conversation.
Although she suggested that I sit there and wait for whatever amount of time it would take the owner to come back from lunch I decided to go to the store and come back once they called me 30 or 40 minutes later I returned back there and spoke to the owners who seem nice I was told to bring the car back the following morning my car is currently there for service now so I’m unsure what it would be like when I pick it up. Let’s just say regardless of the fact I’m happy that my money isn’t going to this business. I feel as though I have given enough, with so much time was wasted in between.
Plus no matter the amount of times the receptionist has written my name down and taking my phone number she continues to call me variations of my name that aren’t even close. I also asked one of the owners about a few other things that needed to be fixed on the car and I first received a ballpark figure of about $ 60-​$ 70 when I just called to check in on it that $ 60-​$ 70 went up $ 175 I think for personal things that I need fixed with the car I’ll look elsewhere with better customer service.

only because my car looked amazing after the was and detail they did, and the owners still seem very friendly. The lady at the desk just need to improve on her customer service skills… and again I did have to pay for the job, so I can’t talk about what the cost was and if i feel it was worth the value. But my car looks amazing, and the crap that was on it due to the negligence of where I live is all removed. Satisfied on the work done, but not over all experience.

Was referred here to get damage repaired caused by where I work. Was initially sceptical as I tend to go to larger corporate structured companies.. To my surprise all went perfect.
Harley (the manager) repaired the car quickly and perfectly. The time he quoted was the time it took. Looking forward to do all my car services from now on here.

I went to Ramirez & sons to get an alignment after a front (2) struts and wheel bearing replacement. I had planned a trip to Toronto and wanted a safe ride.
I spoke with the reception and they said that they would check the front end for me for free. The alignment would be 85 $. Fair I thought.
I had my wife drop off the car and she got a call the next morning saying that they won’t do this alignment job because the car needed brand new

My wife immediately brought the car back and paid them a ‘reduced’ post diagnostic fee of 60 $.
I took the car to Toronto and paid 600 $ for Sway bar links, 2 front tires, new battery, repaired muffler, oil change, a 4 wheel alignment, rear drum brake adjustment and a whole host of other areas’ inspection.
This mechanic tried to fleece my wife out of a ton of money for repairs that were not needed, and the rate quoted was unreal. Avoid! these people are dishonest.

The workers are always knowledgeable and friendly. For a person like me who doesn’t really understand «car talk» they make it easy to understand. I also love how they are not pushy when it comes to making changes for my car.

I own a 2001 foreign car which I know when I bring it in for work I expect a large bill but this has not happened to me here. The owners are very professional and the receptionist is attentive and caring. I am so pleased with this garage that I go to them for even little things like putting a license plate frame on which they did for no charge. A nice honest group of people work here.

I went to Ramirez with my sister’s old Jeep as she wanted to sell it to me. Ramirez quoted me $ 2500 to put it in «safe, driveable» condition. When I sat down to discuss it with the mechanic, he was patient going thru all the details with me. At the end of the conversation, he said that although he felt that the car was in decent shape, I would be better off selling it instead of getting it fixed. I have since been taking my dad’s 14 year old Toyota to them. They have been fair and honest. They explain everything and warn me about upcoming maintenance. I just took the car in for replacement of the rear wheels hub and bearing. The estimated cost came in lower than originally quoted for two reasons: They were able to find the parts away from the dealer, and the mechanic’s time was two hours less than they originally quoted.
The other positive is that it doesn’t matter who you talk to, I don’t get the feeling that they’re taking advantage. They’re timely with the labor and always have the car ready when they say it is.
I now live in Manhattan but continue to drive the car to them. I highly recommend their service.

I first went here in 2009, because it was the closest to my home and it was an emergency. I figured, I would get a diagnostic and then search to find the best quote for the service. They explained the diagnostic results, gave me a competitive quote (not the lowest, but fair) and then offered to refund the diagnostic cost if I chose to have the work done there. Pretty common offer, but what surprised me was when I went to pick up my car– the price was lower than the quote by $ 45 ($ 350 total cost). The mechanic explained to me that once he started working on the car, I didn’t need a minor part after all and thus, no service for that part, so the cost was lower. I don’t remember any of the specifics, however ever since that day, we have taken our cars to them and been given an explanation and fair deals. We have since moved to Florida and will miss them… Pizza shop on the corner while you wait too!

Don’t go here, even for an inspection. I had a negative experience and have heard of many others from reputable sources.
