I been going to Julie since high school and what else can I say beside she is amazing ! I go to her every couple of months for retouch, highlights, cuts and browouts and every time i leave my hair is perfection ! She knows exactly what i want and how i want my hair color to be. The best thing about it is that while you are there its like she is a second family, she has seen me grow over the years and every time i go it is like we reconnect all over again. I trust her with my hair and wouldn’t go to any other stylist! =D

I have been going to Julie for years even when I lived out of state. Why? Because she knows how to cut ethnic/​textured hair. She also doesn’t take hours to do it. You get in and out in 1 hour. I only have her cut my hair (not really style) but I have seen others get their hair colored and it always looks great.

Let me begin with how much I love my hair!!! I am a natural brunette and hate it. Typical woman. I had been going to a salon in Pompton Plains and getting my hair highlighted. On Saturday my hair dresser was busy and she said I can trust her coworker. Boy was that a mistake. I walked out looking like a skunk. I could not believe they let me walk out like that. My husband almost busted a gut laughing when he saw how orange and loud my hair was.
Monday, I decided to get it fixed because there was no way I could return to work looking like I get hit in the head with oranges. I read reviews on Julie & figured I could not look any worst by going to a stranger. I called and immediately after I explained my situation she told me to come in. I walked into the salon and was greeted by a lovely woman, who immediately hugged me and said it will all be okay. Somehow she knew I was the girl on the phone and it was not because she saw my hair, because I was wearing a hat!
Now, I looked around and I’m not going to lie, the salon is dated and cluttered. But for some reason I felt comfortable. She sat me down and went straight to work. There was an older man working there as well who was a pure delight. He offered me coffee, tea, water. Every few minutes who asked if I was okay or needed anything. In the end I looked normal. Julie did what she could do to savage what was left of my hair. Not once did she complain or trash talk the other hair dresser. Very classy.
So, if your looking for someone who know her stuff, this is the woman for you. But, if you have a stick up your a@@, don’t come here. It’s not the fanciest of places, but I left with my confidence back. She is a talented and polite woman who has been in the business for over 25 years. It is clear that she just wants people to be happy and I am certain your experience would be as great as mine.

Despite the look of the place Julie is a true gem. I’ve been going to her since I was a teen and have gone to other places but I always go back to Julie. She listens to what I want takes great care of me and does a wonderful job. I recommend anyone to try Julie. She’s great at coloring too. She has very loyal customers and you can see why after you meet her. Definitely stop at this salon the next time you need a haircut and style.

I love having my haircut by Julie. She did my hair for my wedding. (11 years ago) and I have been a loyal client since then. I have thinning hair and felt very uncomfortable with getting my haircut before I met Julie. In my late teens and early 20’s, I always left other stylists very depressed because they always wanted to sell me products they claimed would «grow my hair» thicker and fuller. it always affected my self esteem. EVERY time I go to Julie, she gives me hints to make my hair feel and look fuller, and that makes me leave with a smile every time. (BTW) She is experienced and knows what she is doing.

I went there couple of months back after a friend recommeded this place. I took the appointment with Julie over the phone and she was extremely sweet. I went there on the day of my appoinment and despite being on time she had already taken another appointment and was busy with her for the next 45 minutes. Although her husband who also helps her at the salon were extremely sweet and kept asking me for coffee or water etc. The place is extremely dated and you can even imagine how much dated it is. I mean it. You will be in for a shock. I have never seen a place like that. Its very cluttered and they have a whole lot of décor stuff in the salon which probably makes it harder for them to clean. There is hair everyhere. I was almost about to walk out when she got done and I really wanted to give her a chance. She did a splendid job with the color and haircut and she gave me a great look. She is adorable and keeps you entertained throughout with her chirpy tales about her grand daughters. Would probably go there again. I wish they could do something about the décor of the place. Its a big turn off.

granted, i have been a customer for many years, but have gotten my hair cut elsewhere and ALWAYS come back. Julie, the owner/​stylist is friendly, not overly chatty, and talented. She always remembers her customers and gives them exactly what they want… she’s very good, too, to warn me that a particular style isn’t suited for them. She’s a wonder and i love getting my hair cut with her!
Definitely (and i always do) recommend her!
