This place used to be just an old shack, that was always way overpriced.
They have redone the building over completely, and got rid of the auto repair section. Now the full building is the «In Town Market», a great convenience store, for basically everything. They had a full coffee area, wine, all of you normal convenience products, 24 pack waters (in quantity), and lots of other good stuff. The store was organized & clean as well.
For the gas station section, yeah, I came here, essentially for gas. And the only reason being out of convenience. It isn’t nearly as overpriced as it used to be, but is still more than other nearby stations in the area. For instance, yesterday it was priced at $ 1.79 and other places were charging on average $ 1.69. Not a HUGE increase, and if you are using Stop&Shop points it won’t matter, but not a gas station to go out of your way for. Additionally, in the back of the parking lot they have an air machine. On average, I would have given this place only 3 stars, but because of how amazing the new convenience store is (such an upgrade from the former), and because of the poor Unilocal average (1.5 stars is ridiculous), I decided to give it 4.
Located on Route 16 in Newton, just by the Watertown Street & Washington Street junction.

As you can tell from my other reviews I am not one to talk badly about establishments. However after having several encounters with this particular gas station I found it was important for me to speak about my horrible experiences. I live about a mile down the road and I went to the gas station on three different occasions to have my state inspection done. Every single time I went they would pull me aside afterwards and talk about all the work that needed to be done on my fairly new car. They then would say that they’d be able to fit me in very quickly and could get the work done. I little later that week took my car to a different different gas station Monro Muffler which I had previously wrote a review about and they took one look at my brakes and said that they were absolutely fine. I have recently had my nails done and the manicurist actually had a very similar experience with this gas station that when she was by herself they would always be recommendations for improvements but when she was with her husband no such recommendations would be made. It’s hard enough to find mechanics that are trustworthy. It has made me furious to feel like because I’m a woman that they felt that they could take advantage of what they thought was my lack of knowledge for automobiles. I have fence taken my car to Monro Muffler and have had my brakes done when it was necessary and they actually had me go under the car and look for myself to understand when it was imperative to have these replacements done. I also go to Jimmy’s auto body to have more intensive work done and I’ve had amazing experiences. Perhaps I’m all wrong and the three times I had my state sticker done it was an anomaly but I thought it was worth putting the word out there to be cautious if you choose to give your business to this establishment.

STAY AWAY. The guy working decided to end his shift 10 minutes before close. Right before I put the nozzle in my car, he shut down the station and decided to go home. I asked him what the deal was when he walked out and he shrugged and walked away.
I know it’s a gas station and I should’t have high expectations… but this place didn’t even meet the lowest of standards.
Never again.

Thoroughly the worst gas station in Newton. Customer service is horrible. The phone number was disconnected. They never turn the pumps on time.

Prices are a bit on the high side and when coming or going it’s always a bit tricky. However, it’s nice to have a local gas station within a few hundred feet away from home. A much needed and welcome delight especially when I need to fill up on gas and not go too far.
