If your have natural hair and want to keep it that way stay far away from this place! I was referred by someone to go to the owner and the owner Avian referred me to Tracy after I asked for a natural style– twist outs and rollers on the end. I must say Tracy was really nice and professional. My major concern was how dry and hard my hair was after removing the rollers. I have been natural for several years and never have I experienced such dryness in my hair. To add I have bleached my hair and it’s never dry– Tracy complemented me on how well I take care of it and there wasn’t any breakage. I was under the dryer for 45 minutes but I had to leave for work. Therefore I kept the rollers in my hair until 8pm that night, expecting to see beautiful curls. To my surprise I had hard as hell pieces of limp hair that was straight. I freaked out!!! It was so hard my hair was coming out as I detangled the «twist.» I stopped detangled and showed Tracy the next morning and she said it was because I did not sit under the dryer long enough. Come on now-​anybody who is natural know you can twist your hair and have beautiful twist outs with out ever sitting under a dryer. I do it every week!
My biggest complaint is with the owner and her attitude. I told the person who referred me what happened and she called the owner to let her know that I was unsatisfied. The owner called me and said that she will correct it I was hesitant to go back but I told her when I come back from out of town I will let her fix it. The next day she calls me and rudely says to me «I know exactly who you are!» as if I ever tried to lie about who I was. She says she was not going to fix it because I did not allow the stylist to finish my hair. There was nothing to finish my hair just needed to dry. I explained to the– rude unprofessional owner– the problem I had was how hard and how dry my hair was it was so hard and dry it was coming out to touch.” Now I must reiterated that I did not call to complain the friend of the owner called because she didn’t like the fact the person she referred me to didn’t style my hair. The only response the owner Avian had to say was «you did not allow her to finish.» I must say I’m super happy I did not allow her to «finish»; I probably would have had more breakage and more damage.
In conclusion if you’re natural AVOID this place at all costs. The owner has a chip on her shoulder she’s rude and she is not professional. I was quoted one price on the phone and when I was paying I was charged more. I can’t believe she has a business with that attitude. I should have known better because they did not use natural hair care products Paul Mitchell is not natural hair care. Jane Carter is not the best natural hair care product. But I should’ve known they were not the best stylist because the owner herself has no hair on her head and it was a ugly shade of green– who does that!
