La Quinta Inn West Palm Beach – City Place

Worst experience! Room old, bedding was tired and looked as if it had been washed 1000 times. During rainstorm, water flooded under the door woke up to puddle into room. Breakfast terrible, stay away!

Great hotel, awesome staff, wonderful breakfast! I will be staying here again, I highly recommend it!

If I could leave zero stars I would. This motel… Because this is NOT a hotel… was the absolute worst place ever!!! So nasty, dirty, dingy, loud, sketchy people. I had my two kids with me and didn’t feel safe. We didn’t get any sleep and checked out first thing and moved to a much nicer hotel.

Not anywhere even close to City Place. I thought this would be close enough to the action when my parents came to visit, but it’s 5 miles away from City Place. Not cool with the naming trickery.

This is quite possibly the most disgusting hotel I have ever been in. You know in the movies when a guy goes to meet his hooker to do some heroin at some cheap, awful hotel? THIS IS THAT HOTEL. Don’t be fooled by the cheesy TV commercials… The rooms here are filthy, the carpet has stains, the bathroom light barely turns on, the bed feels like it’s 100 years old and you sink right through it (and not in a good way), the pillows are cheap and there is a random microwave in the room? What am I doing with that? Microwaving some hot pockets or something? Oh, and it doesn’t help that they gave me a smoking room when I specifically requested a non-​smoking room. I’m a cancer survivor so being trapped in a room that a smells like cigarettes is not exactly where I’d like to be. (Of course they have no more non-​smoking rooms available when I asked.) if you have a shred of class or self respect then do not come here.

We’ve been sitting in cour car for an hour waiting for our room to be ready. A *** hour. This is just awful. If you have a reservation here CANCEL IT. You probably won’t even be able to get a room

I stayed at La Quinta during the Dave Matthews Band concert weekend. This is probably the busiest weekend that this hotel ever sees. I have stayed at this hotel more than twice in the past just to see a concert and have a place to crash after a long night.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the staff including Candace, Moe and everyone was very friendly and the customer service was beyond stellar! The management staff at this location should be commended for the team they put together.
This is definitely not a premium hotel to stay in. But the value for what you pay, and compared to other La Quinta Inns, this is one of the better of the group.

AVOID AT ALL COST. This MOTEL comes nowhere close to living up to the La Quinta brand. Had it not been 2:30am when I checked, I would have most definitely immediately checked out.
First off, the room smelled awful. But that was only the start. The carpet was sticky, the towels and bath clothes had hair folded on them, hair was all over he bathroom, the duvet cover and sheet had cig burn holes, the mattress was terrible…
Really, there was not positives about this ro and it cost over 100 $ for the night

I needed a place to stay for a night & found this La Quinta directly located off the Florida Turnpike. I’ve stayed at other La Quinta hotels & been satisfied. This one was a terrible experience. The floor of the room was dirty, I had to get a blanket from the front desk of which 1 was available. There kids were hanging outside like it was a public arena. Someone tried to open our room several times. The amenities were sparse at best. Come to find out there was another La Quinta on Palm Beach Lakes Blvd that would’ve been closer & maybe better. It rained that night and the elevator had 2 inches of rain it that morning. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. A total D-​U-​M-​P!!!

Wish I could rate with NO stars. This place is a dump. Regular guest of LQ and by far this is the worst. Will not recommend to anyone and plan to post on multiple social media sites.
Blood stained sheets. Room had harsh cigarette smoke smell. Hair on counter. Door locks are sketchy. Bathroom tub was «painted» to cover rust spots. Some kind of stains on the couch and walls.
No wifi! No tv!
Covers on the bed have cigarette burns.
Pictures on the website are NOTHING like the hotel!
Unilocal reviews are manipulated and it’s by far a sub star location.
At all cost DO NOT waste your money!

We stayed 1 night. We had a good time in the pool with the kids. The room was clean. Breakfast is just okay. I would stay here again.

If I could give this place less stars than 1 I would, woke up this morning with roaches in my room! I would avoid this place if I was you! !!! Act crazy and they will hook you up!

Wireless network fails.
Wired network fails.
Television required technician
Structure is old and tired.
Door locks questionable.
Road noise incessant.
Conclusion:
Only sheer desperation will drive me to La Quinta in the future.

First off. let’s start with the fraudulent name:
«City Place».
Not knowing the area, my company booked me here for a month thinking. «What the heck, let’s put him near City Place… that’ way when work days are over he’ll have decent access to shops, dining, Muvico, etc.»
Nope. The ACTUAL City Place complex is FOUR POINT EIGHT eight miles away from La Quinta City Place„ , which should have more aptly been named «La Quinta Florida Turnpike On-​ramp at the far end of Okeechobee Blvd».
Given the logic they use to try and get by with this they could have just as easily called it «La Quinta Mt. Rushmore». or perhaps named it for Niagra Falls.
Now let’s look at what should be some very BASIC levels of service expectations from a for-​profit hotel/​inn. … First of which being the Towel Rationing.
I can understand why they wouldn’t have bottled water or champagne turn-​down service… but TOWELS? I think that for a hotel to have a few extra towels on hand (I had two in my room at the time of each request, so it’s not like I was hoarding a bunch of them) is entirely reasonable. La Quinta «City Place» does not.
I saw with my own eyes… potential guests being turned away because they couldn’t supply even the clean rooms with towels.
Hot Water for Showers? Anyone… Anyone… Bueller… Anyone? — I can certainly understand why, given the nature and style of the average La Quinta, a guest would not expect to see valet parking… or a Sunday brunch offered… or even the earlier-​mentioned turn-​down service… But NO HOT WATER for showers? (on at least 3 occasions)
It seems the water is heated by an old boiler-​type system and when the breeze blows out the pilot light… that’s it… You’re out of luck. So they had the staff checking it every so often, even to the point of surrounding the thing with cinder blocks in order to keep the breeze off the flame. But staff members get busy. behind the front desk… turning guests away because they can’t provide towels…

I do not understand, La Quinta — If you’re not there to «Take Care of the Guest», with even the most BASIC and reasonable expectations for the hospitality industry — and you are fully aware that these problems exist„ , and do nothing to resolve them„ , and continue to take money from travelers anyway„ , then why Are you there? At some point it goes wayyyy beyond just ‘stupid’, or inept — and begins to border on deceitful.
You could tell by the pained expressions of the front desk staff — all of whom were as polite and professional as could possibly be — that they were many times just downright embarrassed by it all, but their hands were tied. I don’t know how the manager sleeps at night. oh. wait. yes I do … because he’s not sleeping at that hotel.
Seriously — 4.8 miles away?
Never again.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Its definitely a pay for what you get hotel. The room was clean and adequate. Its definitely the kind of hotel room you get when you know you will never be in your room for anything else but sleeping and showering.
Great if you are on a budget and dont mind an extremely basic room.
Pros: Free wifi, nice tv in the room, good breakfast included, friendly staff.
Cons: Basic, a bit run down.

«You pay for what you get. Seems clean overall unless you start getting picky. Little stains or wear and tears may turn you off until you go to bed. Very comfortable beds, especially for a quick lodging. Very friendly staff and there is always a police on premises…» At least they’ve been there the last 2 times I’ve stayed — a sign?! :O

I wish it was possible to tell anyone who wants to book here how horrible this hotel is… Aside from the fact that the hotel was filthy, my experience was one big nightmare.
I was attending a concert at the Cruzan Amphitheatre and booked this hotel months before because I know rooms sell out. I don’t consider $ 90 a night «cheap» as others claim this hotel is and by the time the concert got closer the fee was $ 150 a night.
I arrived around 7pm to check in before the concert. We took all of our bags to the room given and it was a smoking room. I am asthmatic and specified non-​smoking in the reservation.
I called the front desk and had the reception assign me a new room. I walked down and got the key and had my boyfriend take our bags to the new room. When I walked in, the room was occupied (yes, other people’s things were already in the room! Thankfully they weren’t inside when I walked in. That would’ve been very embarrassing!). I was in shock and immediately called the front desk again. The woman’s response was «really? you’re kidding». Why would I kid about something like that?
She gave me another room… and guess what? It was another smoking room! At this point, I’m very upset but I’m not going to switch rooms AGAIN! I let her know that I would need some sort of reduction on my fee for the inconvenience and she said that I didn’t specify correctly on my reservation and they are at capacity. This woman had the audacity to argue with me at this point! I left things at that and left to the concert.
When we got back at midnight, the air conditioning wasn’t on nor was it turning on. I called the front desk and a new woman said she’d be up in a few minutes. 45 minutes later she came up and toyed with the AC until it turned on. We showered (in the grossest, dirtiest bathroom I’ve ever seen… We all showered with sandals on!) and tried to go to sleep (after asking for sheets because they hadn’t put any on the bed). Right after we got in bed the AC turned off again. When we tried to fix it we noticed it was dripping water on the rug and causing the AC to short circuit. All of a sudden the AC let out a big spark. I thought we were going to get electrocuted!
It’s now past 2am. The woman put us in another room that smelled worse than the first ones. At that point, I let the woman know we were checking out in the morning and we were going to need a full refund. Needless to say, I called another hotel (30 minutes away was the only hotel with availability) and made reservations for the following night.
They didn’t charge me for the night and gave me a free night at any La Quinta which I am very hesitant to use. I appreciate that they tried to be accommodating but these types of things shouldn’t happen at a hotel. EVER.
Stay away from this hotel!!! Try to stay at the Hampton Inn down the street.

This place is whatever,
Dont come here expecting a fancy hotel (because that it is not).
However, it IS very close to the cruzan amphitheatre, right across the street from a chic fil-​a & the beds are pretty damn comfy.
Oh and also papa johns delivers vey quickly to your room (even at 12:30)

It’s a la Quinta hotel. Extremely basic, not too comfortable, loud AC, not too clean…
Don’t expect much they won’t deliver. That’s why it’s cheap (er).

When my boyfriend and I booked this hotel for the night we thought it was a lot closer to City Place than it actually is. It’s about a 10 minute drive, but for some reason we thought it would be a lot closer. The room was no big deal. There were some weird black marks on the carpet, cigarette burns in the couch and ottoman, and every time the AC turned on I swear I thought it was going to take off. At least it was relatively clean and the bed was comfortable. We just needed the room to sleep in since we didn’t want to drive home after a concert and this was the cheapest we could find. Eh it was nothing fancy, but it did the job.
