Need A Ride

Unexpectedly, we needed a ride from PBI to Miami Beach on a busy Sunday night — one of the drivers we called said there were a lot of competing events. I did some googling, and went with Need a Ride, because they a) were available, and b) quoted the best price. The owner-​driver was extremely pleasant and we had a very interesting conversation about his life/​career path. I wish him the best and hope his business continues to grow.

Our flight out of Michigan was cancelled. The next flight brought us into West Palm Beach International hours after my brother could pick us up. My sister told me to contact Ash at Need A Ride – she had discovered his service after researching car rentals at astronomical prices. Ash assured us he could pick us up and take us to Hobe Sound with only a few hours’ notice on a Sunday morning. When we landed, he was waiting for us in a beautiful Lincoln town car that looked like it had just rolled off the assembly line. We enjoyed a great conversation with Ash and before we knew it, our 18 hour trip from cold, snowy Michigan to warm, sunny Florida was safely and quickly concluded at our vacation destination. Thanks for being there when we needed your service, Ash. A clean, reliable vehicle driven by a very pleasant individual… for a very reasonable price = great start to our Florida vacation!

I originally booked my reservation into West Palm Beach and had to change my flight to arrive in Ft Lauderdale. I was pleasantly surprised that they could pick me up there as well for a ride to Singer Island. The weather was rainy and storm. what a treat to have a car waiting for you after a long trip. Very pleasant driver. Price was as quoted.
You should be aware that they quote a price plus tip and they expect at least 20%. It was well worth it.

Great service, on time and very accommodating! Priced out a round trip service to Hard Rock hotel from West Palm and their price beat all others. I’ll definitely use them again!

I am totally dumbfounded. I live less than 3 miles from PBI and these people charged $ 40 for a one way fare! I called the dispatcher later to complain and with no efforts to make amends he said it was my fault for not asking before I set up the appointment! While it is true in hindsight, I should have asked, I had no idea it would be so much. I will never use this service again. Ever.

I recently flew into West Palm Beach and needed a ride to Stuart, FL. I searched the Internet for car services in that area and called 2 based on their reviews. Of the 2 services I called to arrange service prior to my arrival neither answered their phones themselves but both had voicemail. I left my info, date of arrival and destination. Neither service called back.
The day before leaving for Florida, I searched again for a car service and found Need a Ride. It had only one review but it was a very positive one, I called and my call was answered within 2 rings by the owner. I told him what I needed and asked how much he charged and could he pick-​up at the airport and drive us to Stuart. Yes! We made the arrangement and upon our arrival I called his cell number and within 5 min. He was there.
The car was clean and well maintained the driver/​owner was helpful polite and just plain wonderful. The charge was $ 2 per mile. This was less than the other services I had called and advertised their rates. He picked up our luggage loaded it into the trunk and opened our doors, adjusted the air for our comfort and drove us safely to our destination.
I will definitely use Need a Ride again on my next trip to FL and highly recommend him to anyone needing a reliable car service in the WPB area. This man is an owner driver and takes pride in himself and his service and it shows. He answers his phone, confirms the details of your arrival and is there on time waiting for you. A definite find for an excellent car service.

I got stranded in West Palm Beach… well, it’s a little more complicated than that. I was on a Jet Blue flight to Ft. Lauderdale — and there was lighting, hitting the runways, in Ft. Lauderdale. So, we were circling over Vero Beach, then they told us the storm was getting worse, but since we were running low of fuel, they were going to take us into West Palm.
Once at West Palm, those who wished to debark could, those remaining would be taxied to get fuel, then take off again, circling until the storm passed and they could land in FTL. I got off the plane. Then I decided the bypass the rental car drama and just take a car service home.
After attempting to negotiate with a mute cab driver, I did a google search — that’s what we do now, and from the list I saw Need A Ride, and their name brought a smile to my face, so I called them. They said they’d pick me up in 10 minutes. Wow.
Super fast service with a smile, was only five minutes until I was on my way. The owner just happened to also be my driver that night, and he is an amazing man.
