Henley & Company

Great ! This is not about a rental, but reinforcing a beam by their construction company. They are fast, courteous and thorough. Such great people to work with.

If you are renting a property from this company or are thinking about it, I suggest getting out of your lease when possible and not entering into one if you can. Rude, Incompetent, and Unethical are only a few of the adjectives I would choose to describe the owner (Roger Henley Jr.), and that’s only the beginning. Not only is this company run completely half-​assed, the needs and concerns of their tenants are ignored whole-​heartedly, at best.
To name a few experiences: the unit next to our apt on 1033 ‘S’ had a leak during a rainstorm, ruining the carpet and some of her belongings. She was unable to get a hold of anyone for 2 days.
My car was broken into parked outside, and both my roommate’s and my bike were stolen out of the «garage’ if you can call it that. The only response from them was «you knew the risks of living downtown.»
He called my friend a «rude, nasty bitch» when she turned down an apt she was interested in after they raised the price of the lease and denied every quoting her a lower price.
My advice? Stay away from 1033 ‘S’ downtown or any other property for rent and you’ll save yourself the trouble, and possibly your bike!

This is just a warning, before you sign a lease to live at one of their rental properties.
Long story short, I was told an initial price and then they lied and acted as if they never quoted me for that price. When I showed sincere interest, they immediately raised the price, after they’d already stated a lower rental price. I made an inquiry to the price change and they told me the townhouse was rented, within the span of about 20 minutes.
Needless to say, I wanted nothing to do with this company and sent this quick reply back, thanking them:
~Thank you for saving me the hassle of dealing with your company and your jaded business ethics.
Roger E. Henley Jr. responded with this little tidbit:
~Should your slanderous untrue comments continue you will be served with a lawsuit. If you weren’t such a rude nasty bitch I’d feel sorry for you.
This was another example of their exemplary (insert sarcasm) business ethics and morality. Not only does it illustrate his disregard for ethical business practices and common communication, but he really exemplified his stupidity. I will not give a lecture on «libel v slander,» but it is basic high school curriculum to know that slander is verbal and libel is written AND must have a third party involved.
There was no need for vulgarity and name calling, when my questions were legitimate. Roger E. Henley Jr. is a disrespectful, foulmouthed individual and I hope no one does business with him or his company.
