Tim Kwong – State Farm Insurance Agent

Your typical sheister, slimy insurance agent. I think he is retiring soon so he probably does not give a crap about customer service, but come on man.
I have been with other companies for years that offer the same or better service for MUCH lower rates, but I have been trying to get my elderly dad to dump state farm for years. He is in love with Kwong even though as he says «Tim is about to retire and has one foot out the door»
We moved my dad in recently with us because he is old and has medical issues, Tim told my dad «You have to have your kids call me and answer some questions to make it work with your car insurance», even though we had our own insurance that we were very happy with. So we called him, figuring maybe he had some questions about our house or something. Nope, he just wanted to whore himself on us for insurance. We told him twice no thanks, he kept rambling, we hung up.
It is 2015, we have a little things called email, which Tim never answers. My dad is nearly 90 and practically deaf, so my wife and I need to handle his affairs on the phone because email is a foreign concept to Tim. Every phone call is a non-​stop solicitation to join State Farm, despite us telling him over and over we have no desire to leave California Casualty. Honestly any company would probably be cheaper with better service.
You know what would make me consider leaving? Show me the value of having a brick and mortar insurance agent. That is a foreign concept to Tim and every interaction just confirms why I will never use State Farm or a brick and mortar agent again. What is this, 1985?

Tim has been a solid Agent.
He has been very responsive to my concerns and he has been clear about the services that State Farm offers. I opened up my first policy with Tim about 11 years ago when I moved to Sacramento. The homeowners quote was competitive, and the coverage was issued immediately. Ever since then, I have added more services from State Farm, including car and umbrella insurance. I’ve had to use the car insurance benefits a few times and I’ve appreciated the quick and friendly approach.
I am currently considering State Farm’s 99 cent/​month roadside service. If others are using the roadside service, I’d love to hear your experiences.

Tim has been my agent for the last 4 years. After bouncing back and forth for years to the different agencies I ended up finding Tim and love it. He is always available, helpful, and proactively communicates with me as a client. I definitely recommend him if you want a local guy with big resources behind him.

I had this location as my insurer some years back. My grandmother died, and at a stop on the way home from her funeral, my parked, locked car was broken into and my suitcases and cds were stolen. When I explained the situation, the insurance agent at this location was abusive over the phone and called me an idiot for having left my suitcases in the car, like I could lug them into every place I stopped.
I’m really glad Unilocal is around so I can tell the world what a nasty, spiteful person he was. Grandma’s dead, and he’s hollering because I got robbed on top of it.
