ozzie is the best and his mechanics. great have been using ozzie for years would never go to anyone but him. i can trust him, he gets the work done in the same day. he is the best. and 100% honest.

My car had problems in an area not in the vicinity of my home and I was momentarily at a loss of what to do other than call AAA and wait for their service. Then I remembered the recommendation of a friend who told me about CBISLANDAUTOREPAIR in Westbury, Long Island, NY. One call to Mr. Metin Otar and I was relieved to know that not only was my car in good hands but that they were going to arrange to help get the car back to me without losing time at work. Service like that cannot be understated. The heck with the dealership, they will now be my source for automobile service

So many things wrong I don’t even know where to begin. Brought my mother’s car in to get the coolant reservoir hose fixed. Ozzy, the owner, told me that I need a new reservoir tank, but also a new radiator. I gave him the okay to replace it. I drive the same car as my mother and had my radiator replaced last year and it costed me $ 180 with parts and labor at Welbilt in Queens. CB charged $ 270 for the radiator and another $ 15 for the radiator cap. I was in no position to argue since I had to get that car back on the road as soon as possible so I paid them(they never called to tell me the car was ready I just showed up and found it parked on the curb) and took the car home. The car was only driven once since they repaired it because the battery died two days later. The car has been sitting for about a week and a half and today I pop the hood to take the battery out so I can swap it and I notice that the reservoir hose was no longer attached to the cap. He had melted the hose to the cap(which he didn’t get my permission to do) and what I hadn’t noticed when I picked up the car was that the hose that goes into the tank its self(from the cap) was no longer attached. There was also a clip that held some wire, I don’t know what for, but the clip was placed right on top of the engine. So not only was I overcharged, but they couldn’t even fix what I asked them to. This also wasn’t my first time going to them. Two weeks prior I took my car to get the brakes fixed. They did manage to fix the brakes, but never called me to let me know the car was ready, and they left my car sitting with the door open for hours so of course the battery died. And when I asked for a receipt the man who«helped me» tried to persuade me to leave without it because it was a «hassle.»

I’ve been coming here for years and so I think that speaks for itself. All staff members are extremely helpful and accomodating. They call to give you updates on the status of your car, and they get prior approval before starting any extensive work. They will pick your car up from almost anywhere and they are honest workers. They are reasonably priced and I’ve referred many friends here. It is so difficult to find good honest mechanics these days but CB island is one of the few who are. I will never take my car to anyone else from now on.
