Patricia Schachter is your worst nightmare. We paid her almost year ago to get permits for a wood deck. About 2 months after she submitted the forms, the town asked for an elevation certificate. It has been 6 months. She has not returned any phone calls to me, the Village Engineer, my real estate agent, or my attorney — who even wrote her a letter. She has disappeared from the face of the earth.

Started off a bit rocky, but in the end was very helpful and resourceful. Pushed through the amendments and used her knowledge of how to navigate the building department to help us with the usual and unusual hiccups that one comes across when dealing with government bureaucracy.

I had a similar experience to Wendy’s. Pat Schacter was hired by our real estate attorney to get a CO for the property we were buying. It’s been two years now and it still isn’t done. I finally had to call the NYS Licensing Division, Office of Professional Discipline, just to get her to do anything, but it’s been 6 weeks since that and we’re still waiting.
She didn’t return my phone calls for months.
I filed a complaint with the BBB, who sent her two letters, and she didn’t respond to them.

Patricia Schachter R.A. was so inaccurate in her drawings and attitude of correcting her mistakes. There were dozens of mistakes made in our drawings that she was hired to do. Multiple times the draftings went back to her with so many errors. These drawings were for Certificate of Occupancy, so they were going to be needed for others to make sure the work done in our home was correct. The first set of drawings were missing windows and were submitted to the town. We had corrections made to that set and multiple sets were done after that to try to correct most of these errors. She was combative in her attitude and insisted that corrections did not matter. For the $ 1,500 that she was billing us for, we wanted them correct. Very disappointed in a professionals ability. Would not recommend or use again. Beware of a pretty smile. Does not answer emails or phone calls in a timely fashion.
