Ordered two steak breakfast specials, very friendly waitress, however, there was a hair in my mushroom gravy then my boyfriend found a string seeming to be from an article of clothing in his home fries. Both items were removed from the bill and as we were leaving one waitress says, «are you sure you didn’t purposely do that?!» Very rude and really, we only ate ¼ of our breakfast! Not sure if they treat all their customers like that, was it me being African American or my boyfriend having a bunch of tattoos? Either way we will not come here again.

Absolutely delicious breakfast! I ordered the spinach and cheese egg omelette and they use fresh spinach not frozen, like i have had at other places. The potatoes were crisp(not greasy) on outside yet tender on inside. Coffee was good too! I will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

Hello. We came into Amanda’s on Labor Day. The waitresses were very accommodating for our party of 10. We proceeded to order and how busy and packed the place was, We got our food in an extremely timely fashion!

Such a great hidden gem. It’s only where the locals go. My aunt and uncle took me here for breakfast. You get what you want for an inexpensive price but great quality and you’re in and out really quick. Their turnover is great. Friendly service and always busy. The cream that was left out on our table had started to curdle so our waitress Heather came really fast to take it away and gave us all new piping how tea and coffee. Very good sized portions for a very good price. I had Aline’s special and it was on point. The english muffin under the corned beef hash was crispy but still soft and chewy. The corned beef hash was nice and crispy and had a good saltiness to with. Then with the runny egg yolk over it it was perfection. Love this place and cant wait to go back!

Went in today and no one noticed I was seated for 10 minutes. Waited another five minutes for coffee that never came before leaving. Went to a nearby competitor and was seated with coffee and a menu in under five minutes.

Excellent local diner. My wife had their version of a Western omelette that I sampled with delight and I enjoyed a nicely cooked strip sirloin steak with eggs over easy. The special which I vow to try on my next visit was steak benidect,(Bet you didn’t see that coming). And even more intriguing they offer home made hash with peppers & spicy Italian sausage, Mama Mia! I gotta try some of that. So rest assured I’ll be back. And so should you try this nice place to eat.

My boyfriend and I moved to the area about a year ago and have been trying out all the local spots to find our favorites. We came across Amandas and the experience was so bad here i am a week later writing a review on Unilocal. I give Amanda’s 2 stars because as far as the food goes, you get what you pay for. Prices are reasonable and the food was exactly that, reasonable. Everything else was terrible. You walk in and it feels like a VFW, horrible décor, little natural light, fold out tables. We were told to seat ourselves which is fine, but nobody came over to give us menus. We waiting nearly 5 minutes before being greeted. Meanwhile, a gentleman who came in after us and sat at the bar ordered his food still before we were given menus. Our waitress finally came over and was not friendly whatsoever. I have worked in the service industry for 12 years and I know how taxing waiting tables can be BUT it is how I earn a living and I try my best to be warm and inviting. This woman clearly wanted to be anywhere but there… My boyfriend ordered a coffee and when she brought it over she did not bring cream, we had to ask. I’ve eaten in breakfast places across the country and I think its pretty standard to either ask if a guest would like cream with their coffee or to just bring it over automatically. The food finally came out and my boyfriend did not get what he ordered(which was a special that he literally POINTED to on the menu). He is easy going so he decides to just eat it. My omelet wasn’t bad but my toast was not buttered and there was no jelly on the table. I ask the waitress if I could have some jelly and instead of bringing over a caddy with different flavors like every single breakfast place I’ve ever been to she brings over two packets of grape jelly… for two people. Then the stuffed ‘french toast’ came out. I say to the waitress«Do you have any real maple syrup? I dont mind paying for it.» instead of saying«I will check» or «I’m sorry we dont» she says«no, thats all we have» Very gruff, very rude, very off-putting. So i start eating the stuffed french toast which turns out to be two pieces of wonder bread with a slab of cold cream cheese and jelly in between. Not good at all. I’m already disappointed at this point mostly for the intangible factors of my experience but then something unbelievable happens. One of the waitresses starts sweeping the dining room floor while there are guests eating! She wasn’t cleaning up a spill she was doing her side-work, kicking up dust right next to people eating food. GROSS. I understand the charm of some places is their simplicity and a back-to-basics home-style feel but this place totally missed the mark. There are very small things a server can do to make an experience unique and very obvious things a server should not do while people are eating and the wait staff here have not found a happy balance. In short, skip Amanda’s and go to Kelleys Deli.

Came here with my boyfriend for the first time, nothing but good things to talk about. It was a seat yourself kind of deal, and we were helped immediately with drinks. Food came quickly and was awesome. The portions were perfect& very well priced. Will definitely come again next time we’re in town!

Went Sunday morning the week before Memorial Day. Place was packed but they got the 8 of us seated in 10 minutes. Waitress was great, got the kids their juice and us the coffee within a few minutes. Ordered the country fried steak with scrambled eggs and a half order of biscuits and gravy. Kids all had pancakes, brother had eggs and French toast and sister in law had the breakfast fajita. All of the food was perfect. They forgot my biscuits and gravy and gave me a full order at half price along with a sincere apology. I visit Rhode Island often and will make it a regular stop. Good food and good prices.

Amanda’s Pantry serves up some delicious dishes! Every time I visit, the staff, and the locals, are so friendly. The environment is low key & comforting. There is always a well cooked meal waiting for their patrons.

Poached Egg Problems First time visitor. Very unimpressed. After standing at the door for a minute and being unsure if we should seat ourselves or if someone would address us, a flustered waitress said just a minute while we get you a table. Another waitress was wiping down the table and seats with a wet rag — so wet the seat itself was covered in water when I went to sit in it. I had to wipe it off with a napkin. Then, after waiting for a few minutes for someone to set the table and greet us, we were served just awful tasting coffee. At this point, attempting to remain optomistic, I ordered poached eggs and corn beef hash. The person with me ordered Italian hash. When the meal arrived, the lukewarm, from-the-can-hash was topped with one poached egg and one completely-overcooked egg. When I asked the be-speckled redhead waitress for one that was runny, as poached eggs are meant to be, she said«Uh, sure», as if me asking for something I had ordered was an annoying request. After 12 minutes(one heck of an egg), she brought a fried egg. At this point I remind her I had poached. After another 10 minutes, she brought a runny poached egg. Third time is the charm. Too bad everything else on my plate was stone cold from waiting. I was almost enjoying it until the waitress came back over and asked, «Is that BETTER?» in the most condescending tone. Never ever going back. Service that makes you feel like the staff couldn’t care less and food that comes from a can anyway. Could’ve made it at home.

This is our go to place for a local breakfast. The staff here are always nice and prompt. The food is very well priced and delicious. My only complaint is the décor. It’s plain with too many photos on the wall of their family. Cute family, but I feel family photos aren’t meant for decorating purposes for a restaurant.

No need to go anywhere else for breakfast. Quick, friendly service, food is wonderful. Prices are just right. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Speaking of staff, they had plenty so there was no waiting for extra coffee, water, any request. We will definitely be back.

Carol called this place«where the locals eat» and that is definitely true! They nickname a lot of their dishes after local Westerlyisms. My father LOVES this restaurant because they have big portions and soupy sausage. I’m pretty sure this is the only breakfast place in Westerly where he cannot clear his plate. And this is saying something, because their home fries are so delicious you want to clear your plate. We usually do the eggs, sausage and homefries route.(I personally love the Eggs Bene which is a special on the weekends) so I can’t speak for the pancakes or waffles. The prices are low enough that you can make this a regular weekly event. Keep in mind, it is within walking distance of more than one Church. so it is swamped on Sunday. I like to frequent this venue on Saturdays for that reason. This is definitely a family friendly restaurant — a little noisy, a little chaotic but never boring.

This is where the locals eat. A hidden gem on Main Street right on the way to the beach. You are greeted and served hot coffee the moment you sit down. Large grous are accomodated here and children are king here. If you are allergic to gluten they have grits, the only place that serves them. The steak and eggs special which costs only $ 7.95 is cooked to your order and is great. Friendly, fast and accurate service makes this place a good destination. When you leave you are thanked and told to «Please come back soon!» which I do – often!

Average breakfast place and one of the few you can find in the Westerly area. Breakfast is always good and average priced. It’s certainly a laid back and kid friendly place. My kids love going on Sunday mornings and getting their french toast. The french toast breakfast isn’t really all that big and if an adult were to order it they would be disappointed with the size. My boys finish off the two pieces and want more food every time, they are only 4 and 5 years old, so they can’t eat that much. The coffee is always fresh, breakfast is good and the ability to bring our kids without people getting annoyed is a major plus.
