Westerly Town Beach

Stayed with friends lat week and I am shocked at how much I love this beach!
It’s clean, everyone is nice and the showers worked great.
Plus, you can park!!!

I’m not too familiar with New England beaches but to me this beach was ok.
It was pretty crowded, but relatively clean. The waves were a bit rough and took my top off so I didn’t get much swimming done, but overall I had a nice part relaxing and part fun time here. I will go here again next summer.

$ 60 gets you a parking pass if you’re a Westerly resident. I’ve been coming for nearly 10 years now & couldn’t be happier.
The beach is beautifuly maintained & the bathrooms are neat & clean. It does get crowded on the weekends but I’ve always been able to secure a spot on the beach & a spot in the parking lot.
It’s pretty laid back, mostly families here since it’s «private» and meant for Westerly residents only. There can be some obnoxious teenagers on the patio area once school lets out but there’s plenty of room to avoid them unless you’re using the bathrooms or grabbing a bite to eat.
The concessions stand is awesome. They’re run by West Bakery (which I need to try) and offer your usual light beach fare at a reasonable price. I’m partial to their milkshakes, the Atlantic Turkey & their burgers. Everything I’ve tried has been pretty good though.
