Wonderful vet in TJMaxx shopping center just off Lindero. Dr. Y was very knowledgeable, and took the time to explain to me why she recommended a particular course of treatment. She declined to do new labs, even though I was a new patient, because the ones I transferred were less than a year old. She also recommended that I buy prescription drugs on the internet! Imagine, the last vet I went to tried to sell me everything they could think of, and never suggested anything that would save me money. Also, first visit is apparently free! I would have loved her even if she didn’t save me money, I really feel as though I am in control of my vet care for the first time in a long time. I couldn’t recommend her more.

Thanks to Dr. Y, we have our dog back and healthy as ever — we took Murphy in not knowing if he was going to be ok — he wasn’t hearing properly and was crying because of an ear infection. Dr Y immediately tended to him and sized up the problem, and after flushing his ears he could hear again. She provided us with an antibiotic and pain medicine to help him stay comfortable and now he is 100% back to normal. We are so thankful that we found Dr. Y, and she will be our vet forever! :)

Dr. Y is the best vet we have ever had. Her prices are extremely reasonable, and she is a brilliant caring vet. Our dog generally doesn’t like strangers, but she is very comfortable around Dr. Y and her staff. We have had a few health scares over the years and we always feel incredibly comfortable knowing our dog is in good hands. They are also extremely organized with their scheduling and reminders, which helps a lot! If you’re at all on the fence with your current vet, or just got a new pet, definitely go here!

My 2 cats had diarrhea for 4 months. What a mess! I took them to the Camino Animal Clinic and then to The Cat Doctor (willing to pay $$$ for a cat expert). None of them could figure out what was wrong. Finally, after reading Unilocal reviews, I tried Dr. Y. Wow! Their hookworm was diagnosed right away and deworming treatment given. In 2 days they were fine. I know parasitic infection can be intermittent in stool samples, but I think the other vets should have done a deworming because of the symptoms and long duration of the problem — even if the stools were negative. Also, Dr,. Y ran a special genetic test to detect the worms. Maybe the other vets didn’t do that test. I am so happy to have found this clinic.

I really like Dr Y personally, she is warm, sensitive and smart, it’s a great little clinic for routine issues — but I can not recommend this veterinary clinic for super serious issues.
My 14 year old dog collapsed 3 months ago and we rushed to the closest vet, Dr Y’s. The receptionist was a sweetheart, they let me in the back as I was the last person there. The first doctor was the partner, I was super stressed out but it seemed to me she was very cold. Dr Y took over and I felt better but the staff was talking about other patients over my dog. I am from a medical family so though it irked me I quelled my frustration and understood they were nice enough to let me back there at all.
As soon as Dr Y saw the problem, she sort of drew her breath in and bit her lip, I could see she was steeling herself to tell me the outlook was –horrible. When she delivered the news to me in truly the kindest manner — the room spun and they had to bring me water. They were really nice as they explained I had two options, to put him down, preferably there and then, or to do a major surgery on a 14 year old dog. There were no other options. Thank Heavens they gave him fluids and I took him home.
Dr Y was super sweet corresponding with me afterwards, I really like her. However when I broached the subject of alternative options, for example, yunnan baiyao for internal bleeding, she was unfamiliar with it or with health alternatives and I was told I had days.
That was three months ago. The mass has since shrunk 3cms through alternative health procedures (yunnan baiyao from China!) and I have since found out his medical conditions are way worse than we even found out that night. However, knock on wood, my boy is still happy, wagging, walking and not in pain through my and my other vet’s extensive research into alternative health care practices. I am not expecting every vet to be a holistic nutritionist type practice, but it’s good to have some creativity and familiarity with fairly well known alternatives. That’s why I still really like her and would absolutely recommend her for basics (I sent my neighbor to her as she wanted someone very close for her rambunctious puppy), but if you have a pet with a life threatening issue, I would get a few opinions before making that final, irrevocable choice. I am glad i did, I am also glad she was there that night and as compassionate as she was. I truly have nothing bad to say about her, so I hope that comes across. I would just be hesitant to give up.

I don’t know where to begin with all the wonderful things I want to say about Dr. Y. We first met her when our sweet girl Lucy (our 14 year old cat) became sick a few years ago, and then we were reconnected with her when our little angel Pepper (our 20 year old cat) became sick last October. There is so much I could say about our two beautiful animal children who have now both gone up to heaven, but for review purposes, I’ll focus on Dr. Y and the staff at Dr. Y’s Animal Hospital and start off by saying that they were truly a God-​send.
Dr. Y is a vet that TRULY cares about animals. She gave us countless hours of her time, both in person and over the phone, when we knew taking little Pepper up to the vet would be too stressful for him. She is 100% in the field for her love of animals, and she even told us that she didn’t want us to have to bring Pepper up there if we didn’t have to. Many vets won’t talk to you on the phone because they want you to come in and bring your pet so they can charge you for an office visit, but Dr. Y is nothing like that. She is optimistic and proactive, and she gave us hope and encouragement with her pursuit for answers so we didn’t feel like we were in it alone. We knew she was on our team and that she was rooting for us and for our baby. She is a true detective who explores all avenues before throwing in the towel. You can trust Dr. Y to give her all for your pet, and to know that she won’t give up while there might still be answers out there. She genuinely puts her heart into her work.
Jenny, another staff member, was another huge part of our journey in Pepper’s last few months. She was so gentle and kind to our sweet boy, and also gave us so much of her time both in persona and over the phone, to help advise us on what to do or try and what avenues to maybe explore. We never, ever felt rushed when we were at the vet or talking to Jenny or Dr. Y on the phone, because they were always patient, kind, understanding and dedicated to helping find whatever answers might be out there.
The whole staff at Dr. Y’s office are very kind and compassionate people, and they made us feel like we had a safe place to go where we knew our little angels were in good hands. We will always feel so grateful to have found this amazing place.

My name is Geoff and my dog’s name was Boozer. Dr Y had been Boozer’s vet for his last 4 years or so of his life. I had tried about 10 different vets over the years before i was introduced to Dr Y. They all sucked in my opinion and i never trusted them. Dr Y is above and beyond the best vet i have encountered. I trusted her 110% after just the first visit. Boozer loved her. She’s light years better than others. Dr Y, along with her great staff, are extremely welcoming, caring, compassionate, understanding, reasonable, amazing, etc etc i could go on and on. Dr Y is very down to earth and it shows she is not in it for the money (like lots of other vet clinics). She actually truly cares. I HIGHLY recommend her. Everyone i have sent to her thanks me big time after their first visit. I have had family /​friends want to take me out for a beer /​dinner after, as a thank you. She couldn’t have been any better this past Friday when we had to put my sweet boy Boozer down, due to liver cancer. She will FOREVER be the family’s vet.

This business is how a veterinarian office should be. The staff it is welcoming and compassionate. I highly recommend taking your pet here for any needs you may have. Treat your precious pet to the best.

Been meaning to write a review for some time now. I feel like I’m a pretty good source when it comes to Doctor Y because I’ve been bringing my Bernese Mtn Dog, Max, to see her ever since he was 8 weeks old and she was practicing at Banfield. Max’s first year of life was a very troubled one. Doctor Y was able to see him through two elbow surgeries and a bout with spinal meningitis that almost killed him. On both occasions she steered me to the best specialist in the area and Max got the best care available. I appreciate that she didn’t want me to just rely on her diagnosis alone urged me to go that extra mile. That urging saved my dogs life. Don’t get me wrong, her diagnosis was spot on, but I could tell that she wanted what was best for Max and she also could tell that I would have done anything no matter the price to get him well. She told me, «Look, the place I referring you to isn’t cheap, but they’re the best.» She was right on both accounts. They for sure weren’t cheap, but the were definitely the best. I am forever grateful to her for her honesty and true concern for my dog. My Max is now about to turn 6 and although he has limitations due to leg issues that he was born with, he lives a very happy and loved life.
We were very pleased to see Dr. Y open her own practice several years ago and wouldn’t consider taking our dog to any other place. It’s amazing to see how quickly her business has grown since they first opened, but that didn’t surprise us at all. Good news travels fast.

Last December we took our, Golden Retriever, Jackson, 12 to Dr Y. Sadly, Jackson had cancer and it was to late. 10 days later we took our cat, Footprints to Dr Y. Footprints had been acting different for about 6 months. We had gone to another vet for the same symptoms and that Dr said she was fine, just old, she was 18. When we took Footprints to Dr Y we were told that she had kidney failure. We had to put Footprints down too. 10 days apart. You can imagine how our hearts were broken. Our time at Dr Y’s was short and sad but the whole staff was very compassionate and very caring for our sadness. They were kind and took very good care of us. I have recommended Dr Y to several friends. And will continue to do so.

Simply put, it doesn’t get any better than Dr. Y.
Not only is she knowledgeable and compassionate but she gets the stamp of approval from Bailey. I guess you could say we were those picky kind of people, but only because we love Bailey so much. We went through so many vets! Some had no bed side manner, some were incredibly expensive, and some Bailey my sweet golden was terrified of! Not so with Dr Y. She would be down on the floor with him and he loves her. We do too and would never leave her! Thank you for having pets best interest at heart and ours too!

So bad. This isn’t right. They don’t do business the right way. I can’t believe the way they treated us :(so sad.

After what happened yesterday and this morning on the phone, Jenny, the office manager called and was genuinely apologetic, kind, and helpful. She offered to compensate us for what we spent at the vet as well as what we paid Animal Poison Control. She made it very clear that she was incredibly unhappy about what had happened and let us know that she had already spoken to all the staff and was planning to speak with Dr. Y herself when she returned to the office next week.
The fact that she cared so much about their patients definitely earned them back a few points.

After numerous unsuccessful visits to a closer Thousand Oaks vet, I was tired of not being able to find a cure for my cat Dexter’s constant sneezing and runny nose. It was starting to take its toll on him, as he was lethargic and miserable.
Reading many other positive reviews on Unilocal,I allowed myself to have a little bit of optimism and lugged Dexter over to Doctor Y’s. After a bit of a wait, she examined him and diagnosed the problem. The bad was that his condition was incurable. The good was that it’s completely manageable.
Doctor Y prescribed him a «relatively new» prescription from RoadRunner Pharmacy. She assured me she’s seen a 100% success rate in other felines with the same condition. She also didn’t charge me for my visit, as it was ‘my first time visiting her.‘
That was two weeks ago. Today, little guy’s nose is completely dry. His eyes are bright, clear, and his energy level and overall enthusiasm have returned tenfold. Doctor Y did in one twenty minute visit what multiple other vets could not over months of (costly) appointments and prescriptions.

Dr. Y is a knowledgeable, down to earth, reasonable and fairly priced veterinarian who clearly cares about her patients and her customers. I recommend her services to anyone who is in need of them.

This is the best animal clinic around here. I haven’t been to others, there was never an opportunity for us to look out. We adopted a 2 year old chihuahua from the Agoura pound last year. The volunteers recommended us to Dr Y. Her office provides free check up for the first time for all adopted animals. That’s was how we first met with her. She is great with animals and at least had a very calming effect on Casper. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful as well. The clinic is neatly maintained and there is a separate entrance for cats. We even left Casper at their place for 6 days during Christmas. They take reservation in advance. The boarding unit is clean and safe and they take the dogs out for regular walks. What I like about Dr. Y is the fact that I am assured 100% Casper is safe and because the place is clean and tidy, I am not unduly worried about ticks etc after the long stay. They offer vaccination service and also I get reminded via phone about it. Their grooming service is excellent. I am very satisfied with the service and would recommend people to def give Dr. Y and her crew a try.

After taking in a stray yorkie with some issues, I felt like I was in way over my head. One of the biggest dog lovers I know recommended Doctor Y to me and, after reading the Unilocal reviews, I decided that this was where I wanted to take my new baby. I called and they were able to squeeze us in that day. I signed up for the puppy plan which includes spaying, shots, a year of unlimited office visits, a handful of nail trimmings, and some other things that I can’t remember off the top of my head.
Doctor Y immediately treated us like part of her family and it was apparent that this is more than just a job for her. When discussing options with me, she always says things like, «If this was my dog…» and I can tell she means it. When my dog had to have an emergency abnormal spay, she didn’t charge me any extra even though that procedure is supposed to cost more. When she had to have a biopsy for abnormal uterine tissue, she took her time to draw me pictures and comfort me throughout the process.
This is my first dog and I am a very nervous parent. I have called the office on numerous occasions to ask questions and the staff is always very patient and nice to me. I drive an hour each way to bring my baby to Doctor Y and it is worth every minute.

Unfortunately my wife and I are highly alarmed by Dr Lina Yetishefsky’s lack of expertise and cavalier prescription of highly controversial drugs. In fact, she caused acute pancreatitis in our otherwise perfectly healthy Pomeranian showdog by prescribing Rimadyl, an NSAID that has reported side effects of over 33% in animals.
Our little 4 year old sprained her shoulder by running up the stairs in our home. Dr Yetishefsky prescribed this highly controversial drug without a thought whatsoever. I trusted her, mainly because I am not a vet and she is. After 3 days of treatment, our dog developed serious symptoms. My wife, who has a doctoral degree, started reading up on this drug. Clearly, pancreatitis is one of the reported side effects. Pfizer also equips every bottle of Rimadyl with a consumer warning label, but Dr Yetishefsky keeps that label away from consumers by putting smaller quantities of the medication in her own proprietary containers. When she called Dr Yetishefsky and asked her why something much less controversial was not prescribed, or even acupuncture performed, the woman simply stated «I don’t believe in acupuncture.» She then neglected to provide three alternative practitioners, after my wife told her in no uncertain terms that we would never attend her practice again. My wife had to ask repeatedly for the other veterinary practices.
Now our little baby is fighting for her life in the Intensive Care Unit of a Woodland Hills hospital. I hesitate to name it, since we don’t know the outcome. All of this because Lina Yetishefsky «doesn’t believe in holistic medicine» and is clearly ignorant of important data regarding a very controversial drug. Never, ever would I send anyone to her practice. If our dog dies, it will be her fault. She must be WELL AWARE of the lawsuits with Pfizer regarding this dangerous drug — or else she she should just not practice veterinary medicine.

Dr. Y was amazing. I actually worked as a vet tech/​assistant years ago which the doctor is now retired, so finding a vet that I trust is hard. I did a ton of research. The receptionist on my original call was very nice, and I got great vibes from her so I was excited to come in. This place is tucked away in the TJ Max shopping center off Lindero.
I really, really liked Dr.Y. You can really tell when people care about animals, when its not just a «job». She listened to what I had to say, and she was gentle with my kitty. The office is pristine, and their little office cat is so friendly and loving! I didn’t want to leave her!
I also got free samples of wet food! I’m happy that my kitty is healthy, and I am so happy to have found Dr. Y as my new vet.
