If I could give them a zero I would! Purchased amazon local to get lessons for my kids. When I called to schedule a class with the school, the owner told me he had to take my info and a teacher would call to set up an appointment. Teacher never called, so I called again. This continued for 2 months of me calling twice a week. Finally when I threatened to contact amazon local, I got a call from a teacher on my voice mail. I have since tried to call her at various times of the day and time with not one of my messages returned. I have given up! I called amazon local and based on others who have commented to them as well, they instantly refunded me my money. These are scam artists and not the type of people who you would like to teach children. Stay away!

My daughter has been coming here for over a year for dance lessons. We started off on a Groupon Deal and we were so happy we continued on and one of the reasons is that we were never hassled into continuing or signing up, there is never any problem with billing etc. Most importantly my daughter has flourished under the tutelage of her teachers. She has been taught by most of the instructors at some point and they are all fun, patient and talented. The owner of the studio is kind and very aware of each child in her school.

I do not appreciate being accused of dishonesty. My review is not bogus: I am a parent of a former student, I have never been a teacher, and I have not been asked to write a review by or for anyone. My only goal is to share the truth about my experience.

«Lena» seems quite defensive. I don’t know about the other«bogus» reviews, but I am a former parent. I recommend posting on Jen’s list and asking about others experiences with this school… I have no knowledge of teachers being fired, however I wouldn’t be surprised if they quit.

We have been going here for 6 months now. It really is a great place for children. I have all three of my boys taking lessons with different teachers at the same time — all are done in 30 minutes — advanced piano, guitar, and beginning piano(also get a sibling discount which helps). Teachers are always supportive, positive, and flexible — and they place your child based on temperament with the instructor they believe would be best. They have snacks, TV and magazines for the kids while they wait for their lesson. When one teacher left unexpectedly, she was quickly replaced by a similar teacher who was perfect for my son. With regard to previous review, billing department is no different anywhere else — you have to give 24 hour notice to teachers if you can’t make a lesson and the same is expected of teachers(this happened once and they said they would credit my account — the teacher also made up the lesson). Any other music company expects one month cancellation notice if you decide to stop as well. On the negative, it does seem like a couple of the teachers have to miss a more than expected number of lessons forcing you to change your schedule to accommodate make-ups which then negates my 30 minute convenient stop for lessons for all 3 but hopefully that was just an unusual Winter stretch — so maybe I should have put 4.5 stars, but that wasn’t an option. Overall love the convenience and the quality of teaching.

Warning: MAJORPAIN when you decide to stop!!! I started with a «Conejo Deal» getting 3 piano lessons for a great deal. I loved my daughter’s teacher, so we decided to continue. After 3 months, we decided to stop so she can play another sport. So Before January began, I gave my notice… their policy is that they need 30DAYS! My daughter had to keep going to lessons(and we had to continue PAYING) for a WHOLEMONTH of January after we decided to stop!!! Needless to say, it was a waste of time and money. THEN, THEYSTILLCHARGEDMEFORFEBRUARY! I called and they said I would be refunded for February, but it has been 2 days and nothing yet. I will be making daily phone calls til I get my money back. The star is for the 2 amazing teachers we had. NOTETOTEACHERS: Don’t work here!!! I know it’s not your fault the billing department is terrible! Update: I did end up receiving the refund for February, about a week later. Doesn’t change my rating, though. Another update:(to Lena from California Music Academy, who commented on my post) It is almost sad that you felt the need to post lies about me(and other reviewers). I am most certainly a parent of a former student and have never even been friends with one of your teachers. I also know that you do in fact know who I am since I was contacted after posting my review. I could write more about what was said to me, but I am choosing, unlike some people, to be mature and not start a war with the intention of putting a person or business down. I simply feel everyone has the right to know your 30 day policy BEFORE they sign, and also know if another customer has had a bad experience there. You should be making changes within your business, not posting lies on the negative reviews you receive.

Horrible school owner never cares about his customers, nor the teachers, all he cares is nothing but money! We had this particular piano teacher for almost 5 years. My girls just love her so much and were devastated by the news that their beloved piano teacher was fired. The school didn’t notify us via any methods until we found it out through friends which was days later. Furthermore, CMA demanded us to pay them for the future month. No refund, no decent communication with California Music Academy. There are so many good music teachers around, just don’t go there!
