Smiley’s Hot Dogs

I had no idea what I wanted for a quick bite and then I saw this hot dog cart
I pulled over and ran across the street to Smileys Hot Dog stand
It reminded me of a NYC street vendor except there were no cars racing and honking after me
I kept it simple
A NY dog with seasoned onions, sauerkraut and brown mustard and a Diet Coke– $ 5.00
It looked average size but smelled great
I took my first bite through the fresh bun into the delicious toppings and then heard the snap as I bit into the casing — a very good sign– and the taste did not disappoint

Best chili and cheese New York style hot dogs in town! Real quick and easy! They have all kinds of different hot sauces as well if you want to kick it up a notch!

All the other 5-​star reviews pretty much cover it… Try the Ferrari, the All-​American, or your own favorite mix, because he’s got lots of options. However you like your hot dog, this will probably be the best one you’ve had. I’ve been coming here for 10 plus years, and I’ll rarely eat one anywhere else. If you’ve never gone, it’s definitely worth a try.

This is one of the best hot dog stands I have been to in a very long time. The New Yorker is the best because it comes with brown mustard and sauerkraut while also adding small diced onions. If you are in the area I highly recommend stopping by his place during the week.

A hot dog stand with 5 stars? Yes, because this place does everything perfectly. Sabrett’s dogs steamed, soft white buns, kraut, chili, brown and yellow mustard, an assortment of sodas … They recycle the cans for you too. Pleasant service too.

Good quality hot dogs at a fair price. It’s actually a hot dog cart parked in an area of office complexes. Seems to have a local and loyal following. Good friendly service.

A little bit of New York City in Westlake Village. Found this gem in Conejo Deals and really like it. Will definitely go back.

This is such a great find! They have awesome signature dogs along with spicy, polish, brats, all beef ect… The Ferrari is fantastic! DO NOT leave this place with just one dog you will regret it!

I grew up eating hot dogs as a quick lunch and to this day I still love a simple well made dog.
Thanks to Smileys I can get an amazing hot dog at a very reasonable price during my lunch break.
Stop by and try the Ferrari dog I promise you will not be disappointed.

First thing is first. I do not like Hot Dogs. Never did and I would never think about going to Wienerschnitzel or showing up to a friends cook out with a pack of dogs. So when in 1993 when I was 13 riding my bike by Smiley’s on Townsgate and a friend wanted to stop by for a dog and I said «whatever». Now here is where is gets weird. I got 1 dog with just chili, and from that day forward to this day I was hooked. Simply said «there was nothing like it». The BEST dog I have ever had. And since then I have tried to find that Smiley’s taste but nothing compares. In Aug 1999 I met the Army recruiters there that would recruit me and send me over seas. I had to wait 7 longs years before I could get back to Westlake and stop by Smiley’s. I was very worried if it would still be there but there is was. Under new management but same recipe, same of-​the-​wall-​chili and the new owner was the nicest guy, such Smiley’s is known for. If you choose make a trip to this icon of Westlake Village go crazy, buy two and then two for the road! And if you do not like Smiley’s Hot Dog’s meet me behind the playground. I’ll be the smashing in teeth of nay-​sayers.

Smiley’s Hot Dogs has somewhat of a cult following in the Westlake/​TO area.
I first started coming here in high school and Smiley, as we called him would always greet us and knew the order before we even walked up.
You HAVE to get the Ferrari dog — as everyone else has said. Comes with a mix of chili, spicy onion type sauce and some mustard. It is the best hot dog you’ll ever have.
Great spot to enjoy a hot dog on a sunny day.

Holy hell is this a gem in the corporate suburbs! Like the posters before me, the Ferrari dog is your ticket to hot dog heaven. This is really close to my work, you can be sure I’ll be back again many times. 2 dogs, chips, and a drink for 8 bucks!

Great dogs, good prices, location is nice, and Smiley (Mike) is a really cool cat. He also does private and corporate gigs «afterhours». My buddy has hired him twice for private parties and Smiley’s is a real crowd pleaser! Go fo the «Ferrari». You won’t be dissapointed!

Unfortunately between the business building management and city licensing Smileys has been forced to relocate from his usual prime spot. You can sometimes catch him else where along Townsgate Raod but I fear it won’t be long before he leaves Townsgate all together.: (

Your just not going to find a dog stand like this unless you hit the east coast plain and simple. From polish to kosher and the Home made chilli and sautéed onions. Go fo a Ferrari dog! Large selection of drinks, chips & hot sauce.

This little stand is out in front of office buildings on Townsgate where office people come out in droves.
Our boss bought us hot dogs from Smiley a few months back and they were great!
I had to walk and get off the chair and move my limbs just now. The options were a salad at Gelson’s for $$$$ or 3.75 from Smiley for a great hot dog on a nice sunny day.
The hot dog was again, superb.
