Thank you Dan for finally getting me divorced! I made really poor choices trying to get my divorce paperwork done correctly and I was ready to just call the court and cancel the whole thing and start all over. I was getting my divorce judgement kicked back approximately three times. I don’t know why nobody was able to get it right. He was nice enough to meet with me in Los Angeles to go over my paperwork (I work there but live in OC) and he was able to draft up a perfectly well done judgement. I was looking for an attorney to help out my family member who was about to go to small claims court over a large debt that was owed to her. When I called Daniel he suggested mediation first and helped write a letter to the other party to try to resolve the issue. Long story short I was able to resolve my problem without going to court. I’ve contacted Dan after reading several positive Unilocal reviews. I needed help filing divorce paperwork and most places I’ve called were either too pricey or non-​responsive. Dan answered the phone my first time calling his office and he was very helpful in answering my questions. Dan sounded very friendly and non-​imtimating over the phone so I’ve decided to use his service. Although I didn’t get to meet Dan, his sister Kate (who works with Dan) was amazing. I had to file for divorce and my situation was pretty complex so I called and spoke to Dan who was able to answer all my questions and explain to me the entire process from start to finish in a simple and clear way. I found Daniel through Unilocal as I was trying to find out if I needed a divorce attorney for my somewhat unique situation. I had attempted to contact a few other lawyers in the area just for general information and none returned my call. When I contacted Daniel he personally answered my phone call and pointed me in the right direction. He let me know that it was best not to hire him as an attorney, but that he would still be able to help me through his divorce consultation at a cheaper flat rate. It could have been very easy for him to take advantage of my situation, however; his character and integrity as a honest lawyer clearly showed. I met up with him and his paralegal and together they filled out all the necessary documents that were needed to file my divorce with the court. They also gave me step by step instructions and posted sticky notes on everything to help me through the process. I was in a car accident and needed to negotiate with the other side’s insurance company. As a lawyer myself, but not practicing in car accident cases, I first sought help from another lawyer. But because I was not interested in drawn out litigation, I decided to look for a good mediation firm or person. Dan was recommended to me by a friend. Dan took care of everything for me and kept me updated. I had a really good settlement with the insurance company. Dan saved me lots of stress and money. Negotiation and mediation are special skills. I strongly recommend Dan for negotiation or mediation services.

I initially contacted Dan and Ryan because I was looking for a friendly way to «mediate» through a particularly nasty and intense roommate dispute. I saw that it says divorce mediation, but I figured they might be able to help me out with something else (which they were able to.)
The situation…
Due to unpaid utilities (several months worth!), unaccounted for recycling funds, and various other issues, I was thinking a mediator might be the best way to resolve things. Certain roommates of mine were referring to small claims court, and I knew I had to do something before it got to that point. Ain’t nobody got money for that!
I found DMDR-​something-​something on google, and their prices were pretty good compared to others. Since it was not their usual divorce related mediation, they were able to work with me on the price to something reasonable for my pocket book. I called a few places but Dan was the first one to actually return my call (within the hour even! One of the MAIN reasons why I bumped them to a 5 star instead of my usual 4 star). Dan listened to the situation, took down notes, told me he was going to discuss it with his partner, and they would «be in touch.»
Ryan returned my call early the following morning and we discussed whether mediation was worth it or whether small claims court was better. I felt like he was giving me his honest opinion, not trying to sell me.
We decided that it was best for Ryan to come to our roommate meeting and speak on my behalf. I was just so FRUSTRATED AND MAD at one of my roommates, that it was nice to have someone come in and express what I was feeling in a calm and level-​headed way.
I got ALL my utility money from the roommate that didn’t wanna give anything, repaired the relationship with the other two roommates, and manage to put that drama behind me (which is such a nice RELIEF!)

Use Dan! He helped me negotiate an incident where my dog was attacked by another dog that was off leash. My dog suffered an infection and large chunk of flesh taken out of her skin. Numerous vet visits later, the bills were piling up. Dan helped us handle negotiations, and back-​and-​forth with the owner of the other dog. It was a big help, as I honestly didn’t even know where to begin or what to say. Long story short, we now have a written response from that other dog owner that he has agreed to pay the full amount of the vet bill. Hooray! Thanks to Dan we finally got a positive ending to a tragic start. Thanks Dan!
