Flame Broiler

Before going vegan I used to LOVE getting bowls at FB, so naturally I was thrilled to find that they were now offering tofu. Unfortunately, as soon as I opened my bowl tonight, I became suspicious. After examining the «tofu» it was obvious that several pieces were actually chicken! In total there were 3 large pieces of chicken and 2 pieces of beef in my bowl! The beef was obvious, but if I hadn’t been careful I would have eaten the chicken because it looks so similar to the tofu! If a restaurant is going to cater to vegans/​vegetarians by offering TOFU, they need to take care to not add meat to the dish as well! This is outrageous and unacceptable! Tofu should be kept and cooked completely separate from all meat! I will be following up with corporate on this complaint as well, but I certainly will not be visiting this place again. Vegans and vegetarians, STAY AWAY!

RANT: I love flame broiler but they constantly are messing up my order. Today I ordered a tofu bowl to take for lunch so I wouldn’t have to buy something and rush on my 30 minute break. I’m eating my food and what do I find? BEEF CHUNKS. I call the place the woman apologizes, says only the chicken is cooked on the same grill as the tofu and says she hopes I find something to eat. WTH. Cross-​contamination much? Can’t believe she admitted that too. So I asked her was she not going to refund me my money or anything? The lady tells me she will write a note and see what they’ll do for me tomorrow since I don’t get off until 10 tonight. I asked for corporates number since I have this problem far too often and she asks the manager if it’s okay to give to me. He asks why and refused to give me the number. Sooo freaking illegal. Now I’m rushing to find something to quickly put in my system before I have to clock back in. So shout out to flame broiler for ruining my lunch, I will be getting ahold of corporate I promise :)

We went in to try it out for the first time and we could see they were not using gloves. We actually saw a raw piece of chicken bounce off the cooks uncovered hand… We ended up turning around and walking out…

Let me start by saying I LOVE Flame Broiler. First time to this location and I’m super disappointed. $ 14 for 2 chicken bowls… and there’s barely anything in them! Super skimpy portions and the chicken is gristly. Feeling super ripped off. I will not be returning to this location.

First time getting Flame Broiler, and it was so delicious and worth my money! The service here was great and fast. I got the chicken veggie bowl with brown rice and no broccoli. The bowl was hot when I got it! Will definitely return!

This Flame Broiler doesn’t seem special… But it must be because all the prices are higher

I love flame broiler been a fan probably since they opened. Healthy decent food. I know each location is franchise but this location is so greedy it’s sad. I ordered a half and half and no joke would equal maybe a ¹⁄₈ of a chicken breast, 10 tiny pieces of meat and for goodness sakes at least fill the bowl with rice to make it seem like a meal. My bowl was ¾ full. I wondered why everyone picking up their orders at countered looked confused well it’s cause their bowls were almost half empty. Raise he price if your so desperate

I’ve been going to this flame broiler location for at least 4 years and eat fb at least once a week. But lately the service and food portion/​quality been declining. Last week I ordered a half n half bowl with extra beef (close to $ 12) I had three pieces of chicken and 5 slices of beef and all the beef was overcooked. I asked if they gave me extra beef and cashier said yeah which was a flat out lie so I ask for the Manager. I had to wait for the manager to finish smoking his cigarette outside and he claimed that that was extra beef that they have given me. Lie. so I just left. I tried calling tonight and placing a phone order for a chicken veggie bowl with no rice or cabbage and they wanted to charge me a $ 1.50 for no rice. What a joke I’ll never go to this place again

Food was as expected, very tasty especially with the magic sauce. Portions were much less than other flame broilers.

I love that they don’t charge extra for brown rice and the $ 6.95 meal is a great deal
The staff was very friendly, the inside and outside were clean (someone was wiping down tables, while another was sweeping), and I got exactly what I asked for, down to the extra green onion

Clean, fresh, fast. I love this location. It’s the best one I’ve been too. I’m pressed! Food was great and the staff is on point. Great for a fast fresh meal!

Not THEE best teriyaki I’ve had since the lean cuts of chicken lack flavor and grease but hey, I appreciate Flame Broiler when I’m in need of something simple, fast, $ and healthy. Honestly, I’m not a fan of the magic sauce or the hot sauce and wished they serve sriracha.

Great food and great service!
I always get the Half and Half Bowl with either Brown or White Rice and I usually get it to-​go. I’ve never really eaten this location, but the longest I’ve been here is about maybe 5 – 7 minutes the service is pretty fast and they’ll usually give me a water cup while I’m waiting.
Would recommend this place to everyone!

The cashier named Anthony is a total joke and should get fired. He didn’t give me my free chicken bowl with my rewards card. I knew beforehand that I would get my free chicken bowl today but when I scanned it he «assured» me that next time Id get it. His attitude and negative energy was very insulting. I came in an hour before closing and he treated me like I walked in 5 mins before. He then proceeded to make up some bs on how the point system doesn’t go in until the next day. But right when I scanned my card I got a text through my phone saying congratulations on your free chicken bowl. I’m going to go in when he’s not there and to see if my chicken bowl is still up. If not, then this employee really needs to get fired. Horrible service

Service was great. I was in the area looking for a healthy post workout meal and this definitely fit the category. Food was surprisingly fresh and delicious. I will be coming back again!

I’ve had my best Flame Broiler experiences here.
The last time I went, they were very friendly and helpful. My three bowls were ready for me before I even finished grabbing all of the delicious sauces they have to offer (magic sauce, hot sauce and hot, hot sauce)! How cool is that?
I was even offered a water cup while I was waiting! Which was great, because I actually was thinking as I walked in how I needed some water. Seriously, there were really nice.
I asked for extra green onions on the bowls, and that was no problem at all. And then I even asked for more green onion on the side, and they got me two bags of green onion, no fuss and no charge!
Of course, the food was delicious. I always get half beef/​half chicken bowls, but I do think their chicken is better. Next time I might just get chicken.
But, great Flame Broiler here! Nice and clean and friendly. :)

This place is odd. I think the management is disorganized. Sometimes it is great food and great service. Other times service is so-​so but the food is good. Sometimes the service and food are so-​so.
It looks nice, but it is a relatively new location.
Because it is inconsistent, I’ll go if I’m the area for shopping or errands. Otherwise I’ll drive to the Flame Broiler in FV.

VENUE:
This location is also located in a shopping center. It’s a bit hidden compared to the rest of the restaurants. There is only inside seating. There are a few booths and a couple of tables. The restaurant was very clean. There is ample parking in the shopping center’s car park.
FOOD:
The food here has no MSG, no dairy, no trans fat, and it is not fried. Not bad for a chain right? Now, there is not veggie bowl on the menu. Usually I just ask for a a side of veggies and a side of brown rice. They’ll pack it in a bowl for you.
The veggies are nicely cooked, and as you can see not greasy and shiny from oil. You get a hefty portion of broccoli, carrots, and cabbage. They have three different sauces to choose from (sweet, mild, and spicy). I’m not big on sauces so I just add a tiny bit of the mild sauce. On the other hand I adore chopsticks and take every chance I can to use them.
SERVICE:
Just like in the other location, the cashier at this location was very friendly and got our order right. We will definitely continue to eat at this chain.

I haven’t eaten at a Flame Broiler since I moved away from Irvine (there was one minutes from UCI). Despite this location that has been here for a few years now, this was my first time here. I think part of the reason why I never went to this spot was because the parking is an absolute nightmare. It shares the lot with a Starbucks, bagel joint, Jamba Juice, Lazy Dog Café and GEN Bbq. Come here at night, and you’re lucky to find a spot. I think what would help is if they at least staked out the two spots in front of their restaurant and made it «Flame Broiler» parking only or 5 min. parking for those taking food to go. Anyway, beyond that, I can’t really fault them for their parking…
The food is awesome. Flavorful, fresh and tender like how I always remembered Flame Broiler quality. I ordered the Chicken Plate over white rice, which also comes with green onions (a must add-​on to your meal), cabbage salad and a slice of orange. This location really does not skimp on the portions. The grilled, tender pieces of chicken covered every part of the bed of rice underneath it. The rice itself — was equally as awesome — perfectly steamed, moist and warm. No dry spots.
Although the chicken itself was perfectly seasoned, you can pick up your own additional sauce (at no charge) at the condiment counter. The house «Magic Sauce» is yummy. It’s sorta like teriyaki — but with a more distinct taste to it. And it goes great with most meals — so I try to take a few extra containers.
Service was great. Jessica took my phone-​in order and was pleasant throughout my visit. I have no clue what some of the other reviewers were talking about when they said they received bad service. Overall a great deal — and I like that you’re able to call ahead to place your order so its ready when you get there. Parking issue can still use a bit of help (again, reserved spots for take-​out patrons) — but other than that, great and yummy food!
