I was referred to JER by my coworker. Really happy I went there to get my Camry fixed. The car had a bad alternator and really rough idle. Linh set me up with a rebuilt alternator and diagnosed the rough idle and stalling to a dirty throttle body.
With a new alternator and clean throttle body, my car is now running as smooth as ever. Great shop! Will definitely be taking my cars here from now on.

Awesome little shop. The mechanic knows exactly what he’s doing & takes great pride in his work (nonchalantly). We were able to get a job done that practically no other shop would be willing to do without any other services. On top of that, the mechanic chose to take on the job even though we came just 15 minutes to closing & the job took an hour. We were so grateful towards him for understanding the urgency we were facing at the time. He even gave us his contact info in case we had any questions on a vehicle we are working on. If that’s not above & beyond then I don’t know what is.

As a car owner, it’s very frustrating to deal with car issues. Unluckily for me, my check engine light on my car turned on. Learning from my past, I immediately tried to turn my gas cap tighter hoping that would remedy the issue. It didn’t. So sadly, I went to my local pep boys just so they could pull the code — P0730. If you google it, it’s basically a code saying your transmission is all messed up. Of course, being a girl means that I have a giant target on my back when it comes to cars saying «RIP ME OFF PLEASE!!!». Linh didn’t do that at all.
I took my car here and he tested it and drove it around to see what the issue was. My transmission fluid was dirty so he recommended we change it and see what happens with the car. He did tell me that there would only be a 1% chance that was the actual issue, but I was banking hard on that 1%. He told me what to watch out for to see if there was an actual issue with transmission. He was very friendly and often a lot of information and knowledge about my car.
Well, I left and Linh was right. My car’s transmission was slowly slipping (I witnessed it myself via the jumping RPM, just as Linh told me) and it would have to be rebuilt. Linh quoted me a price and told me it would take at least a week to fix. A week without a car… who can live a week without a car in SoCal?! Linh did his best and he got my car back to me within five days. The price he gave me was much lower than a dealership and he still offered a warranty of 12 months/12,000 miles attached to it.
Overall, my car feels basically like I’m driving a brand new car. His honesty and decent pricing is the reason that I’ll keep coming back to him.

Owner does a good job on the cars and gets things done. He gives good deals on the jobs being done. Needs to work on time management but there’s quality in their work. One of the few places my bf trusts his car with.

I have a 1989 BMW and have had Linh and his crew wrench on it. Linh is an interesting guy, and he is in the right business since he likes cars especially performance cars.
On the bimmer, I had a timing belt change, rear transmission seal change, central carrier bearing change.
I also brought my Audi and had the transmission fluid change, transmission filter changed, outer tie-​end rods, and shocks replaced.
The price is reasonable and is fair. I give JER five stars for their heart and effort because they try to do the best for their customers and they are very flexible.

Very happy to have found this place through Unilocal.I was having issues with my suspension (32 adjustable coilovers, k-​sport) on my 2007 acural tl-​s. It was originally installed by one of James the fender defender guys who is associated with Outcast Garage… For months almost half a year I’ve been trying to figure out why the hell my ride was so bouncy when I bought BRAND NEW coilovers from Outcast…
Thinking back, my boyfriend had told me when he took it to get the suspension originally installed (Outcast referral), the guy who was working on my car was rushing and got frustrated because in order to get to the back dampening system, the entire back seat had to be removed which I guess caused him to rush while doing the install. But, like anyone… If I’m a paying customer, I would hope the job is done correctly which was NOT. Anyhow, I swore to myself that I would NEVER take it back to any of Outcast Garage referral or associates.
Hence, I looked on Unilocal and found JER. Took my car here for a suspension diagnostic, told the owner Linh everything I was experiencing and he started educating me about what he thought it may be etc. He had to leave, so he told one of his guys what to do. when I came back, I test drove my car and wasn’t satisfied because the guy told me he did his bes, but thought it may have been defective shocks, but luckily Linh had came back, so I SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED for him to look into it one more time before I had to seek another option (completely buying a new set/​different coilovers). Reason for doing so is because of his knowledge/​experience.
Linh was very accommodating and went above and beyond to correct the issue himself. He personally took over and put in the time to restart and reset the whole suspension install. He found that the spring rate (preloads) were off as well as the dampening. Even though the work for this took the whole day, Linh gave me a great price because he understood my frustration and I could tell that he really genuinely cared about customer satisfaction.
Overall definitely a great experience coming here and highly recommended. Best to call ahead of time to set an appointment or drop off the car and get a ride to run errands or eat because they can get pretty busy (as expected for great service). Will definitely be recommending other friends to come here.

My uncle recommended me this place because I needed a new mechanic in the area, coming from San Diego. I have to say I’m always very pleased with my service here.
Linh is very honest and hardworking, always giving me the best deals and prices. I never even have to question if he’s giving me good deals or not. He charges very modestly for labor, and he’ll order any parts you can.
Be sure to call in, because this shop does get pretty busy. If he doesn’t pick up, it’s best to leave a voicemail, he’ll get back to you when he can.
I’ve come in for headlight changes, and all of my brakes and rotors that needed changing.

Linh and staff are great. Friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve taken my G35 and 350Z here several times for tune-​up, oil changes, and coolant repair. I used to shop around for mechanics, but I really trust Linh and Hien!

Knows his stuff, but does not really seem to work on your car since he has his other employees doing it. Had my brakes done there and a few days later my car started to make that nasty sound when you back up. Then he was telling me that my transmission was going out which it wasn’t since the engine is really strong because I took it to Cobb tuning which is a place where they are really completely honest. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to come to this shop. Over charges you and doesn’t complete the work.

They did a decent job. The owner is friendly. I had to wait a really long time to get an oil change even though I called in before I came.

Came here for a turbo install. He seemed very knowledgeable, but ended up costing me a fortune. They stripped my oil drain when they tapped into my oil pan I’m no expert, but even I know not to tap into an oil pan below the oil line. They forced the screw into the oil drain and when I unscrewed the bolt it broke off. I then removed the oil pan and found all the metal shavings everywhere. Surprisingly, my oil pump is still working, but my turbo starved because the oil line was clogged. He also did not put any effort into finding good AN fittings for water lines. He just hooked up the stainless steel braided hoses directly into banjo bolts. Since the hose sit right next to the exhaust housing both hoses cracked and coolant spilled everywhere. That could’ve cost me my engine because the car started overheating. I asked him why did he install the water hoses that way and he said he couldn’t find any AN fittings. That’s funny because I had to find them myself and it wasn’t difficult. All it took was one call to Earls performance plumbing. I will never come here again nor recommend this place. I ended up JER Development paying over $ 5K when everything was all said and done and I still had to pay extra even after such as new oil pan, new water lines, AN fittings, new turbo heat wrap, new Gatrett Turbo… That’s all I can think of right now. Hope this helps.

I must say Linh is the man! I shopped around for prices on coilover, swaybar kit, and rear camber kit install for my 08 g37 and JER def had the best price. Saved almost half of what other shops were trying to charge. Also the other reviews are right bout Linh. He LOVES cars and wont mind talkin to you about the best route to get your car done up. I forgot the name of the guy that did the work on my car but big ups to you too man. Thanks again and ill def be back with any work i need to get done. Oh and Linh has a body shop too. Def a jack of all trades!

Brought my car here because it had good reviews on Unilocal.All of it was true. Brought in my BMW for repair, problem was diagnosed and fixed excellently. Linh is very knowledgable, honest and with good work ethic. Price is very reasonable. I will definitely bring all of my cars here for any other repair needs. I highly recommend this auto repair shop.

I love this place. They charge a fair price, provide excellent work, and gave me honest advice. I have been to cheaper places in the past and have been burned (not getting my oil filter replaced when I paid for my oil change). Also, my car had some engine issues. They were the one that fixed the issue after I went to two other shops!
On top of that, they have been in business for a long time and they are very knowledgeable. I highly recommend giving them a call and check them out yourself!
As you can tell, I am a huge fan of this place.

This is my first review on Unilocal and it goes to the guys of JER! Just to keep it short but I would highly recommend going here for much of your car needs. Linh and Hien are cool and are able to answer all your questions; fast next day appointment and reasonably priced service! I had sport springs installed on my Elantra ’13 one day, then a weld-​on muffler later on. Love the results of all my mods so far, and I will probably come back here in the future once I’ve saved up for a set of large rims+wheels. :)

Brought my car via tow truck here after it wouldn’t start or be started with cables in Long Beach.
Linh is extremely nice and professional, as a woman I get up sold a LOT when I am doing any maintenance on my car. He never tried to upswell me and was super nice when I got there. It was 5:15pm and they close at 6 and they had 3 other cars they were wrapping up. He said they may not be able to look at it tonight. Which was fine with me. So I call enterprise to pick me up and get a rental. As I’m waiting Linh comes running out and says they were able to look at my car and can repair it tonight! Hooray!
I was expecting a starter replacement or something extravagant. It was a battery replacement. His prices were extremely reasonable and he didn’t charge me for the typical diagnostic fee you pay at mechanics. Just the battery and the install, which was significantly less than what I was expecting.
I will be coming back to Linh for sure, excellent service!

My husband’s car was overheating repeatedly, and I had my doubts when Hien diagnosed the problem to be the same as what the other shops had said. I don’t know what he did differently, but with Hien’s help, we haven’t had any more problems, and it’s been close to a year.
It’s a no frills shop, but what could be more important in a mechanic than honesty and reliability, especially for a person like me who’s clueless about cars? Now we only take our cars to them.

They do everything from your run of the mill oil change to custom fabrication of turbos and anything and everything in between. If there’s something you want done to your car, rest assured, this place is the place to go to.
You can tell he’s experienced by the vast quantity of high performance sports cars in the shop and the frankenstein machines he’s built, ie. a Mini truck running a K series motor!
I tell all my friends to come here and everyone’s been completely satisfied with the work and friendliness of Linh and his workers. My friend’s SC died on her and she brought it elsewhere only to be told they couldn’t identify the problem. I told her to bring it to JER and in 2 days he had it up and running smoothly again. She told me he’s a miracle worker and I happen to agree.
