we’re not the most decisive ppl that’s for sure. but after a few delays due to other renovations that we were having done, riley expressed frustration instead of being gracious about it. –1 star for that.
they «missed» the alignment of one of the recessed lights in our living room vaulted ceiling and after fixing it told me all i have to do is get our painter to paint over the mistake hole they patched up. not so simple. –1
and instead of putting the light switch near the end of the wall by the hallway where it’s much more convenient to reach it, they put it like 3 feet in. this cost me $ 150+ to have someone else move the switch to where it was supposed to have gone in the first place. –1
finally, less then a year later one of the tape lights he installed for us above the living room went out. i texted him and he said to contact him the following week to schedule a visit to repair. i wasn’t in a rush to have it fixed so i didn’t text back until a few months later (last week) after the other tape light he installed in our bedroom has started to malfunction as well. i have texted riley twice and he has not responded. 100’s of dollars that went into nonfunctional lights. ugh. –1
i now question the quality of both his work and his products.

Riley and Jim are awesome. He responded to my request within 20 minutes and showed up the same evening to look around my house. He sent me a bid within the hour of leaving my home. Reasonable prices, and very friendly. They have already come back for four jobs that we hadn’t even expected, but after getting recessed LED lights, it was clear we needed to upgrade throughout the house. We loved the changes immediately. From adding outlets, to LED recessed lights, exhaust fans, and switches installed, these guys work hard. They aren’t afraid to crawl around the hot attic and get dirty to do the job correctly. They give sound advice about where to put lights and stay in budget as if it were their own home. We plan on keeping his number for any future electrical work and will forward to friends in need of an honest electrician.

I had 39 recessed lights installed in my house and it was nicely done. Riley explained everything in terms of LED options, how long it would take to install, and gave me several pricing packages. The florescent light unit in my kitchen was taken out and converted the top opening to a nice raised ceiling with LED installed. I also had my Bose speaker wires ran from the back to the front, and all wires were hidden behind the walls. And all the wall patching was done nicely — all in all a professional job done all-​around. I recommend these guys for recessed lighting and speaker wire installs.

Just had lights installed throughout my house. Riley was great was professional, easy to schedule, and knew his products very well. His prices are great and I couldn’t be happier with the job he did. The lights made a huge difference in my place. I think his positive reviews represent him and his business more than the negative ones posted. Thanks Riley.

I’m a fan. I had them do another room today. It was kind of a last min decision but Riley was able to work around his schedule to do this room in a couple of hours. actually less than 2 hours. They were even able to install the lights without patching so that saved me some money. The room looks so much brighter! I love it. I’ll have them come back and do my bathrooms for sure.
P.S Whoever pm-​d me saying they are dishonest or whatever, do not pm me again or I’ll report you. Obviously I’m very happy with their work.

This is the fourth time I’ve used Light Pro’s, and once again they were spot on! Joey came out and had my new spa up and running in no time. He recommended a new 50amp (GFI)circuit breaker for safety reasons, I never would have known about changing and upgrading that breaker. Riley and his partner Joey have also done work for several of our friends, they also spoke highly of their work and attention to detail. I contacted Riley recently about installing lights in one of my rentals, he arrived on time, explained everything and even showed me some samples, but once I explained I wanted a permit to be pulled he abruptly stopped everything, packed his samples and even grabbed my estimate and stated that’s he’s been doing this for over 10 yrs and never had anyone request a city permit and inspection.
As he walked out he said «we’re just not a good fit»
Huh? What the heck just happened, so after doing a little research I discovered his secret, he isn’t licensed.
I’m not taking any chances, I hired a licensed contractor.
I’ve included pictures of his business card, note the absence of a contractors license number.
So it’s been 2 months since I first posted my review, at the time I posted it Riley immediately contacted me and begged me to remove it stating he’s got a family to feed and whatever…
He admitted to being unlicensed and stated he’d have his license in 2 months, well, I messaged him like I said I would and if he truly was now licensed I’d edit my post.
Messaged his twice with no response and after searching the contractors state license board I still can’t find a license for him.
My review stands!
Interestingly enough the licensed contractor I did hire showed me a text between Riley and himself from late 2013 where he also was saying he’d have his license in just a few weeks.

I needed recessed lighting installed in my living room high ceiling, master bedroom high ceiling, and 2 smaller bedrooms. Since the time I first contacted him to schedule an estimate, he has been helpful and quick in his responses. We scheduled a day for the job, and they were on time and did a great job. I was in love with my lights! We did have 1 defected bulb, but when I let Riley know, he promptly came out and took care of it. Now it’s months later, and I asked him a question about the bulbs, and he still responded right away. He’s clearly the best in the business and is still helpful even when it’s months after he finished the job. If we need lighting work in the future, I’d definitely contact Riley again!

This review is long overdue. Riley brought great pricing and skill to our recessed lighting job. We got 2 other quotes from 2 other well reviewed businesses. His pricing was the lowest and he also brought samples and offered up info on previous customers if referral/​reviews were needed. He also was willing to come out outside of the standard 8 – 5 to do the quote.
The installation was done last year but we had a couple of hiccups that he always followed up on.

Riley did a great job on our lights.
We needed recessed lighting installed in our living room and we wanted about 6 lights installed in the 10ft sloped sleeping. We also needed some lights in our closets. Many other lighting pros we contacted said it could not be done on a sloped ceiling and said our roof was too shallow.
Somehow Riley made it work. He was quick and efficient and finished the installation in one day. For one of the closest switches we wanted the switch on a different part of the wall, so Riley even made a second trip back to accommodate our request and make sure everything was functioning correctly. He was polite, courteous and was definitely knowledgeable about this field. So glad we hired him over some other general contractor.

I really only take the time to write reviews when I really feel like someone deserves it. Riley and his guys are very professional and do wonderful work. They took care of my kitchen and living room with vaulted ceiling’s and all patchwork that needed to be done as well. Very happy with the work and would recommend to all of my friends. My parents are calling them to set up their appointment.

Wow, so impressed with Riley and crew! Not only did they do an amazing job with the lighting installation/​placement, the patching/​drywall repair was completely undetectable! I can’t believe the difference. These guys were so professional and tidy. They left the place cleaner than when they arrived! I just love it when that happens! I had Riley and his crew put in lights in my mothers house. They were fast, efficient, clean, and the job turned out great. I went with the LED’s and Wow they just lite up the whole room. I was really concerned when they said they needed to cut into my drywall but their Texture guy did magic and I can’t even tell after it was painted. I thought it was going to be expensive after calling a few places first, but Light Pro’s beat them all… Thanks guys

Just had recessed lights installed in our living room. Joey and Jim were on-​time (in fact 10 minutes early), and treated our home like it was their own. By the time they left, you couldn’t tell they were here, except for our beautiful new lights.
The price was the price, very fair, and no haggling. Overall a great experience, and would HIGHLY recommend.

Riley and his team did an excellent job with the recessed lighting in my home. We had other construction going on and he was very flexible and accommodating to the mess we had going on in our house. He is punctual, responsive and professional.
What stands out the most about this company is their honesty. They have fair and honest prices and Riley will not try to nickel and dime you. He will not try to upsell you and he will not push extra products (like dim lighting or fancier lights) just to get more money out of you.
This is an honest business and not one of those big lighting companies with overhead. I highly recommend these guys.

This was my second time hiring Riley to put in recessed lighting. First time was in November and now in July. They were fast, professional, and were very fair in price!
They also know their stuff. I didn’t tell them anything about the room they were working on and they came to me telling me it was an addition probably right after the house was built (1950s).
The lights are beautiful and would recommended them to others.

Contacted this company through Unilocal messaging at least 2 or 3 times and NO reply !, only asked them for their Business credentials as we where considering them to do a job !, we found other contractor who we could verify, are you hiding something !, at least you should have the common decency to reply to customers either way !!!
In response to owner of recessed light pros, we found out through other Unilocalers once we had posted a review on your company that in fact you are not licensed and we verified this on CSLB website, I Have been so busy this is my first chance to get back to your reply, have a great day and be honest to your clients about being Unlicensed ! after all its the right thing to do.

Riley and his guys did a great job! I only had a small task (6 recessed lights in the garage), but they were super professional, cleaned up after themselves, and were in and out in just over an hour. Would definitely recommend them! Bonus, they didn’t have to cut any holes into the ceiling even though we don’t have access/​crawl space above the ceiling. Good stuff! :)

I don’t write reviews but they did an awesome job. Very cleaned and explained everything I had done. I would totally use them again in future work. He answered all my calls and was here when he said he would be.
