Went in for a trim after one year of my cutting my hair and eyebrow waxing. Work was quick and efficient and I’m quite happy with the results.

I made an appointment for my mother in law and I to get our hair colored and cut. Quyen worked on my hair and another stylist worked on my mother in law. Quyen is very good with colors. I had a balayage ombré before and it had been 5 months since I last colored my hair so my hair was very brassy, not pretty at all. I decided to go lighter all over and get a balayage. Quyen spent 3.5 hrs coloring my hair and the color turned out so soft and beautiful. My balayage highlights blended nicely and they were so subtle and natural looking. It’s so hard to get an ashy color with Asian hair, but she managed to get the color to look so pretty, not orange at all. My hair felt light, bouncy and soft after the coloring. I highly recommend Quyen and the price was definitely reasonable.

I am glad I went here to get my hair done! After years of looking for a good hair stylist I finally found one!!! Quyen was such a great and sweet person. She was so genuine and honest with me. I didn’t feel pressure or anything. She knew exactly what I wanted. I love the fact that she takes her time and is really detailed. Many times when I went to other places, they would rushed with my hair because they have another appointment. With quyen, I really felt at ease and know that she really concentrated on my hair! My hair turned out great and I can’t stop looking at it! I asked for a blonde that didn’t have that orange– gold color and quyen did such a great job with my request! The blonde turned out better than I had originally wanted! Thanks Quyen!!! :)

Quyen is a very skilled eyelash technician.
Got my new set of eyelashes 1.5 weeks ago. I love dramatic lashes, so I asked for dramatic. The thicker and longer the better. I have pretty thin lashes, so was thinking that my natural lashes wouldn’t hold lashes that were too thick. Well well, Quyen proved me wrong.
My lashes look amazing! I have gotten so many compliments from numerous people. After 1.5 weeks the lashes are still holding up well. Still full and dark. I am curious to see what they look like after 3 weeks before my next refill.

So I desperately needed a haircut because my hair was too long and grown out and I came across this place on Unilocal a week ago. I specifically wanted Quynh because of the great reviews she had but she was very busy so I had to book an appointment the next following week. I came in and she introduced herself and was very kind. She washed my hair and then asked me what kind of style I wanted, how short, etc. I honestly didn’t know the exact look I was going for so she gave some suggestions to me and I put my trust in her and it turned out amazing! It was exactly what I envisioned in my head but couldn’t say the words for it and I couldn’t be any happier :) I’m for sure coming back to this salon whether it’s for a hair cut or I want to change it up and dye my hair! Thanks Quynh for being super nice and doing exactly what I wanted/​asked for!

Quyen is the best! She did an amazing job with my balayage and I gotten so many compliments so far! She really takes the time to take care of your hair and gives you the result you want. I will definitely be coming back!

There are a few times in life where one star is appropriate and this is one of them. If you have an important event to attend where you have to be somewhere at a certain time & look good or at least look okay, this is NOT the place to go. I do not give one stars often maybe once every few years if the encounter/​service is extremely despicable so look no further for my horror story at this place. I booked appt. because the photos on Unilocal for them look great & simple, the makeup looks looked glam but not overdone. I liked the aesthetic of the photos both for hair & makeup. My intent was to get the Hollywood glam look that they had on Unilocal.When calling I spoke to Quyen who said the appointment would be with her sister Wendy who doesn’t know how to do 40’s finger waves hairstyle but that she’s really good regardless and will do another great hair look on me. I said great and booked an appointment for hair & makeup for a family photo shoot on a Saturday.
So on Saturday I showed up to my appointment maybe 5 minutes early. No one greeted me but after an awkward minute, someone doing hair asked me if I needed help. I said I had an appt with Wendy & they said to sit down that Wendy would be with me soon. After about 20 minutes I asked the same person when Wendy would see me, that’s when a pretty stylist who was doing someone else’s style said she would be with me soon, she was Wendy & had been there the whole time! Good customer service would be someone greeting me, once finding out I have an appointment letting me know how long I would be waiting and asking if I’m okay with that. Nope. I waited for 40 minutes! In those forty minutes I thought about leaving but because at the 20 min mark she said she’d be «right with me» I figured that would be any minute and before you knew it– 40 minutes had passed in the 1 hour and 30 min I allotted for hair & makeup.
I sat in the chair with less than an hour left to my appointment. She prepped me with oil of Olay cream including my under eye area and took out brushes and a powder foundation palette from a generic company. She didn’t use any primer on my eye lids and set to work. I wasn’t facing a mirror at any point of the process– so I couldn’t see any of the horror.
She used tiny slow brush strokes on my face. I wear makeup daily & have gotten my makeup done professionally a lot and there was no purpose to her strokes.
At one point she asked if she could trim my eyebrows. I stupidly said yes because I thought there was a little bit of straggly hairs in my pretty brows so she used brow razors. I stupidly didn’t think she was changing my brow shape. She ended up altering the shape of my left brow completely, misshaping and shaving part of the outer third of it including the arch. So with that question «do you mind if I trim your eyebrow» seconds later my eyebrows were permanently changed. She did this on both eyebrows. Goodbye nice eyebrows.
She then kept doing these slow strokes on my face & I reminded her of the time and at the hour point I let her know I had to leave in 20 min, she hadn’t started on my hair. She was using a blender sponge that she used to rub the Olay on my face, she was using it to apply cream concealer — but it started hurting. We looked at the sponge and there was little needles all over it– well it wasn’t needles it was my eye brow hair! Horrible! She changed to another sponge & started using two different blush colors-​both drugstore brands. Again no purpose or order to what she was doing, she was working on fake eyelashes one second, doing concealer, putting the generic face powder foundation with a big brush the next-​with random spurts of everything out of order.
Since they had me waiting– I was already late to what I scheduled to do in the two hours before my family photo shoot & had to have multiple people be understanding of the situation.
So at the ten min mark, I reminded her I had to leave and could possibly return in an hour so she could do my hair. She asked me if I had hair extensions because my hair was so short– my hair is past shoulder length! I said I could possibly bring my extensions in an hour but that I had only a sliver of time since I had a photo shoot to be on time for. She said — ironically — that she had two appointments during that time but that she would try to fit me in.
I then looked at time and realized I had to leave or risk being super late to a ticketed event. I got up, after an hour of makeup & looked in mirror and right away I started crying. She put ghost white powder on me overall, didn’t contour anything and had very strong almost kabuki drawn on eyebrows and I saw at that point that the outer third of my eyebrows were almost GONE. She had put super cheap consistency & sticky concealer in my under eye area & it was like 4 shades lighter than my skin and DRY. I have oily skin so how was that possible. They MADE me pay before I left but got it refunded via phone with Quyen immediately after. Horror!

I specifically was looking for a place to do an Updo for a wedding I was attending on Friday.
I called and spoke to Chi Quyen (the owner) to see if she could do my hair on Friday. She was completely booked but managed to get another stylist (Chi Thu) to do my hair on short notice!
I came 15 minutes before my appointment at 10:00 on Friday and Chi Quyen was already doing an Updo, had another client waiting for a haircut and another one for eyelash extension. She accomplished to get her clients taken care off. She has great customer service and is very warming.
She was apologetic and said that my stylist was coming in soon.
Chi Thu did my Updo in 30 minutes flat. Her work is incredible and I was so impressed with the outcome. It came out even better than the picture I showed her.
This place deserves the recognition on Unilocal!!!
They have a multitude of services and the place is extremely clean.
I will be coming back here for other services!

Absolutely amazing I came in for a color correction and came out with gorgeous hair even though I had one idea Quyen Van and I talked about different colors and she did a ombré red color and the time she took and talked with me was so great!!! I highly recommend this salon very clean and professional

Chi Quyen is very sweet and meticulous stylist! I came in with coppery golden tone mid-​length hair. My hair was severely dry and damaged due to working in chlorine 24/​7, prior to meeting with Chi Quyen. She was able to tone down the brassiness beautifully, I am beyond ecstatic! I brought in a picture of brown to silver ombré balayage. Chi Quyen recommended it would take a couple sessions to achieve that desired hair color due to my current hair state. I am understanding that it takes time to go lighter, no worries here.
I walked out with a gorgeous long bob and warm brown-​light blonde balayage! Quyen went above and beyond with her excellent service. Her prices are fair and I will definitely return back to her in a couple of months. Thank you so much!

I came in a couple of days ago for a haircut appointment with Quyen. The salon was very clean and pleasant with only the hairstylists and a couple customers, which was very nice compared to the previous salons I’ve been to with hustling and bustling people all over the place.
I’ve been looking for a new hairstylist because the one I went to for years lost her touch but raised the price on me, and another stylist that I tried actually cut my hair a little unevenly and they double booked my appointment so I waited longer after arriving on time! So typical when it comes to the salons in the Vietnamese community.
Quyen saw me on time and sat me down before getting started to talk about the look I wanted. It’s actually the first time a hairstylist discussed with me about how I could achieve the look I desired before washing my hair, etc. Usually they just quickly agree and move on so they could get my cut over with. So that was a good sign!
My hair turned out very similar to the look I wanted, with layers that gave my previously long flat hair a bit of volume. Quyen was very skillful and meticulous, and I loved that she wasn’t rushing. I thought the starting price would be $ 25, but mine was $ 30 without tip since I had a lot of hair.
Quyen is a very sweet person and I really enjoyed my time there with her. I definitely found my new go-​to hairstylist! I’ll be back in a couple months and I’ve already raved about this salon to my girlfriends. Thanks Chi Quyen! :)

As I am new to the area I was in search of a good place to get my hair cut. So I searched Unilocal and found here and due to all the great reviews decided to give it a try. Was very pleased. Very professional and clean and very friendly. Will definitely be coming back.

Quinn is the best! I will forever get haircuts from her. I came in (30min b4closing) trying to get a long bob cut but she was honest with me telling me she would have to cut a lot of length because I had layers in my hair so she worked her magic and did something thAt looked similar but kept my hair longer and I’m in love she left my hair feeling soft and healthy again!

Thank quyên and linh has created new hairstyle for me. I enjoyed this change. I will come back next time

Quyen is the best I’ve found so far when it comes to lashes! Her lashes are thick and full so looks very glam. She also uses the more curly lashes type so it gives that curved look that open up your eyes more. I would highly recommend Quyen!

I didn’t really read the past reviews too much but from what I skimmed through Salon Q has great customer service and is extremely affordable! (…aka I scrolled through all reviews until I saw $ 25 for a haircut and booked an appointment on a whim since this place has 5-​stars.)
My hair is/​was VERY long. Literally touching my butt and was in desperate need of trimming and re-​layering. I walked in pretty much blind to Quyen’s cutting abilities (but she can’t be that bad if this place has 5 stars right??). Quyên more than exceeded my expectations. The cut she gave me was IDENTICAL to the picture I showed her. That seriously has never happened to me before.
For a quick job that I didn’t give much thought about, this was such a pleasant experience! Thought I needed a haircut, booked an appointment, and two days later I showed up on their doorsteps. Didn’t really expect to walk out in love with my hair.

Do not hesitate to book an appointment (if you do walk in, you probably won’t get Quyen)! All the ladies are really nice (and pretty!) and this place won’t break the bank. My haircut was actually $ 28 not including tip. Can’t wait to come back for re-​styling!

On a whim, I decided to try a new hair salon. Upon reading all the positive reviews about Quyen (owner). I came in with no appointment so I was unable to get my hair done by her. Schedule an appointment ahead of time!
I was nervous having someone new cut my hair. But, Van did well with my long layers and side bangs. I really like the layers as it gives my hair volume. Only downfall were the bangs. Not many stylist can perfect the side bangs. The bangs turned out a little choppy. It’s not too bad. I am 95% happy with the new cut.
May come back to have Quyen cut my hair next time. Prices are great! $ 20 not including tip. Two thumbs up on that!

I wanted to get my hair and makeup done for a nearby wedding and found Quyen through Unilocal!I allowed her to do her thing for my makeup and gave her instruction on my hair with pictures. Never having had my makeup done before, it was an experience learning about contouring, which she was really good at!
My hair & makeup turned out amazing, I received so many compliments, even from the bride and maid of honor. Thank you so much Q, you are amazing!

Wendy is amazing! My normal hairstylist was out of town and I needed a haircut before my trip next weekend. I was in the area and looked up hair salons and saw the good reviews. I called and Wendy said I could come in 10 minutes. I was like 5 minutes away. I arrived early and she took me right away. Asked what I wanted done and I asked for a 2-​once cut, layers, and to thin out my hair (I have super think hair that gets very heavy). She washed my hair and gave me the best head massage I’ve ever had! I normally go to higher end salons and have never had this great of service. Wendy took her time and did an excellent job! I love my hair and the best part was it was only $ 25!!! I normally pay any where from $ 45 – 60 just for a cut!!!
I did notice that they use cheaper hair color that has the harsh smell (lady next to me was getting hair colored) so not sure if I would get color done here, but definitely will return for haircut!
